Mackey functors on compact closed categories

Abstract

We develop and extend the theory of Mackey functors as an application of enriched category theory. We define Mackey functors on a lextensive category $\E$ and investigate the properties of the category of Mackey functors on $\E$. We show that it is a monoidal category and the monoids are Green functors. Mackey functors are seen as providing a setting in which mere numerical equations occurring in the theory of groups can be given a structural foundation. We obtain an explicit description of the objects of the Cauchy completion of a monoidal functor and apply this to examine Morita equivalence of Green functors.

Left properness of Moore flows

We introduce reparametrization categories with cuts. For every such category $\mathcal{P}$, the tensor product of two objectwise weak homotopy equivalences of $\mathcal{P}$-spaces is an objectwise weak homotopy equivalence, and the q-model structure on $\mathcal{P}$-flows is left proper. The reparametrization categories $\mathcal{G}$ and $\mathcal{M}$, as well as the terminal category $\mathbf{1}$, have cuts. The terminal category recovers the left properness of the q-model structure on ordinary flows. We also give a symmetric reparametrization category with cuts and a strict unit. This category is not equivalent to $\mathbf{1}$.

Fiber product of condensable algebras and critical points of boundary phase transitions

In this work, we propose a mathematical description of the critical point of boundary phase transitions in 2+1D topological orders. Given two boundary phases, $\mathcal{C}_A$ and $\mathcal{C}_B$, with corresponding Lagrangian algebras $A$ and $B$ in a 2+1D topological order $\mathcal{C}$, respectively, we propose that the critical point of the phase transition between these two phases, if it exists, corresponds to $D = A \times_{M} B$, which is the fiber product of $A$ and $B$ over $A$-$B$-algebra $M$. We prove that $D$ is also a condensable algebra. Additionally, we present an alternative classification of condensable algebras in $Z(Vec_G^ω)$ and reveal splitting phenomenon that arises during the condensation of certain algebras. We also perform explicit computations for the condensable algebras within several examples of $Z(Vec_G^ω)$, covering both Abelian and non-Abelian groups $G$.

Algebra of spectral duality structures

This paper establishes the algebraic and categorical foundations of spectral duality structures (SDS). We show that the class of all SDS admits the structure of a graded symmetric monoidal category, where the degree $K$ is the fundamental invariant indexing the strata. We define operations of Cartesian product and disjoint union, morphisms preserving involution and weights, and prove that $C^\ast=1/(1+\sqrt K)$ is a functor constant on each stratum. We classify objects up to isomorphism by the combinatorial type $(k,f)$, the degree $K$, and a multiset of inversion classes $[r]=\{r,r^{-1}\}$. In each degree, skeletons are exactly the finite $C_2$-sets over the additive group of the reals with $C_2$ acting by $t\mapsto -t$, which explains the monoidal structure and identifies the classification with the decomposition into orbits. Furthermore, we prove that the response rank is the rank of an explicit matrix built from the amplitudes and the weights, and hence exactly the number of non-trivial pairs $k$ under the full-rank condition, and we connect the categorical structure with the Fisher--Rao geometry of Paper V. The SDS, originally discovered in stochastic resetting problems, is thus an autonomous mathematical object with a rich algebraic structure and a natural geometric realisation.
