A proof of the multiplicity one conjecture for GL(n) in GL(n+1)

Abstract

Let F be a non-archimedean local field of characteristic zero. We consider distributions on GL(n+1,F) which are invariant under the adjoint action of GL(n,F). We prove that any such distribution is invariant with respect to transposition. This implies that the restriction to GL(n) of any irreducible smooth representation of GL(n+1) is multiplicity free. Our paper is based on the recent work [RS] of Steve Rallis and Gerard Schiffmann where they made a remarkable progress on this problem. In [RS], they also show that our result implies multiplicity one theorem for restrictions from the orthogonal group $O(V \oplus F)$ to $O(V)$.

On (super)symmetrizing forms and Schur elements of cyclotomic Hecke-Clifford algebras

In this paper, we introduce Schur elements for supersymmetrizing superalgebras. We show that the cyclotomic Hecke-Clifford algebra $\mathcal{H}^f_{c}(n)$ is supersymmetric if $f=f^{(\mathtt{0})}_{\underline{Q}}$ and, symmetric if $f=f^{(\mathtt{s})}_{\underline{Q}}$ and an invertibility condition holds. In the semisimple case, we compute the Schur elements for both $\mathcal{H}^f_{c}(n)$ and the cyclotomic Sergeev algebra $\mathcal{h}^g_{c}(n)$. As applications, we define new symmetrizing forms on the Hecke-Clifford algebra $\mathcal{H}(n)$ and on the cyclotomic quiver Hecke algebras of types $A^{(1)}_{e-1}$ and $C^{(1)}_e$.

Bicompact torsion classes and conjectures on brick infinite algebras

In the category $\operatorname{\mathsf{mod}} A$ of finitely generated modules over a finite dimensional algebra $A$, a torsion class $\mathcal{T} \subset \operatorname{\mathsf{mod}} A$ is said to be compact if there exists a module $M \in \operatorname{\mathsf{mod}} A$ such that $\mathcal{T}$ is the smallest torsion class containing $M$. If a torsion class satisfies this and the dual condition, then we call it a bicompact torsion class. We conjecture that bicompact torsion classes are precisely functorially finite torsion classes, and prove it for hereditary algebras and also for semistable torsion classes. This gives that Demonet's Lattice Point Conjecture implies Enomoto's Infinite Semibrick Conjecture, both of which are important conjectures on brick infiniteness.

Right representations of Novikov algebras

We study the theory of right representations of Novikov algebras. We introduce the notion of a modular right ideal of a Novikov algebra and prove that every irreducible right representation of a Novikov algebra is isomorphic to the quotient by a maximal modular right ideal. We prove that the class of Novikov algebras with no irreducible representations forms a hereditary radical. We introduce the notion of a primitive Novikov algebra and show that a Novikov algebra is primitive if and only if it admits an almost faithful irreducible representation. We also introduce the notion of the quasi-kernel of a representation, defined as the largest ideal contained in its kernel. Finally, we prove that the constructed radical coincides with the intersection of the quasi-kernels of all its irreducible representations.
