$η-$ Hyperbolic Ricci Solitons on the Unit Tangent Bundle of the Hyperbolic Strip

Abstract

We study Killing vector fields, Ricci solitons and hyperbolic Ricci solitons on the hyperbolic strip $S_a=\{(x,y)\in\mathbb{R}^2:0<y<a\}$ endowed with the metric $g_{S_{a}}=\frac{π^2}{a^2\sin^2(πy/a)}(dx^2+dy^2)$, and on its unit tangent bundle $T^1S_a$ endowed with the Sasaki metric $g^S$. On the strip, we show that the Gauss curvature is constant equal to $-1$, that the Lie algebra of Killing fields is isomorphic to $\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{R})$, that every Ricci soliton is trivial (Killing potential, $λ=-1$), and that a $2$-Killing field which is conformal, or which is the potential of a hyperbolic Ricci soliton with $λ\neq0$, is a Killing field. On the unit tangent bundle, we prove that the Lie algebra of Killing fields of $(T^1S_a,g^S)$ is four-dimensional and isomorphic to $\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathbb{R})\oplus\mathbb{R}$, that $g^S$ is not Einstein but is $η$-Einstein with constant coefficients, $\operatorname{Ric}^S=-\tfrac32\,g^S+2\,η\otimesη$, and that $(T^1S_a,g^S)$ admits no Ricci soliton. For hyperbolic Ricci solitons we prove non-existence for Killing, left-invariant, and $θ$-invariant potentials with conformal projection, and we reduce the general $θ$-invariant case to a system of equations on the strip; the classification for an arbitrary potential is left open. Finally, we show that the $η$-Ricci solitons of $g^S$ have a Killing potential and $λ=\tfrac32$, $μ=-2$, and that the $η$-hyperbolic Ricci solitons obtained in the same classes of potentials are the trivial ones, with a Killing potential, $μ=-\tfrac32$ and $ν=2$.

Equivariant analytic torsion for proper actions

We construct an equivariant version of Ray-Singer analytic torsion for proper, isometric actions by locally compact groups on Riemannian manifolds, with compact quotients. We obtain results on convergence, metric independence, vanishing for even-dimensional manifolds, a product formula, and a decomposition of classical Ray-Singer analytic torsion as a sum over conjugacy classes of equivariant torsion on universal covers. We do explicit computations for the circle and the line acting on themselves, and for regular elliptic elements of $\operatorname{SO}_0(3,1)$ acting on $3$-dimensional hyperbolic space. Our constructions and results generalise several earlier constructions of equivariant analytic torsion and their properties, most of which apply to finite or compact groups, or to fundamental groups of compact manifolds acting on their universal covers. These earlier versions of equivariant analytic torsion were associated to finite or compact conjugacy classes; we allow noncompact conjugacy classes, under suitable growth conditions.

Uniqueness of Ricci flow with scaling invariant estimates

In this work, we prove uniqueness for complete non-compact Ricci flow with scaling invariant curvature bound. This generalizes the earlier work of Chen-Zhu, Kotschwar and covers most of the example of Ricci flows with unbounded curvature. In dimension three, we use it to show that complete Ricci flow starting from uniformly non-collapsed, non-negatively curved manifold is unique, extending the strong uniqueness Theorem of Chen. This is based on solving Ricci-harmonic map heat flow in unbounded curvature background.

The interpolation method for the complex Hessian equation on compact Kähler manifolds

In current work, we delve into the study of complex Hessian equations on compact Kähler manifolds. By imposing a constraint on both the bisectional curvature and the oscillation of the solution, we demonstrate that the Laplacian estimate can be linearly controlled by its gradient estimate. Consequently, we are able to derive gradient estimate for the solution using a standard interpolation argument, without the need to employ the blow-up technique. As an application, we demonstrate that when the right-hand side of the complex Hessian equations approximate 1 in the $L^1$ norm, the desired gradient estimate is obtained.
