Superintegrable systems in curved spaces via coalgebras and deformed Racah algebras

Abstract

We determine the Poisson algebras generated by partial Casimirs of undeformed and non-standard $q$-deformed $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$ coalgebras, respectively. The derivation is performed on the abstract algebraic level and does not depend on any particular symplectic realization. For the 3- and 4-site cases the constructions associated with the undeformed $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$ produce the rank-one and rank-two Racah Poisson algebras, respectively, while those with the non-standard deformed $\mathfrak{sl}$ yield finite quadratic Poisson algebras generated by connected partial Casimirs. At both the three and four sites, the final closure coefficients do not explicitly depend on the deformation parameter. The results hold at the Poisson coalgebra level and hence apply to any realizations which preserve the defining brackets and coproducts. Canonical symplectic realizations give rise to Hamiltonians in spaces of non-constant curvature. For the Stäckel $q$-deformed Smorodinsky-Winternitz model we show explicitly how the universal coalgebra sector is completed to maximal superintegrability. An exact two-block identity, proved directly in the localized Poisson algebra without appealing to a symplectic realization, controls the additional Stäckel integrals. In three dimensions, it generates a quadratic Poisson block with its own Casimir relation; in four dimensions, its coupling to the full left/right coalgebra family is organized into three nested quadratic blocks, and the same identity extends this nested coupling to arbitrary $N$. Explicit higher-site partial Casimirs and factorized bracket generators are collected in the appendices.

On the Spectrum of Schrödinger Operators Interacting at Two Distinct Scales

Schrödinger operators of the form $Δ- W$ on $L^2_{\text{rad}}(\mathbb{R}^3)$, the space of radially symmetric square integrable functions, are relevant in a variety of physical contexts. The potential $W$ is taken to be radially symmetric (i.e. $W(x) = W(|x|)$) and to decompose into two components with distinct spatial scales: $W=W_\varepsilon:= V_0+V_{1,\varepsilon}$. The second component $V_{1,\varepsilon}(|x|) = \varepsilon^2V_1(\varepsilon |x|)$ represents a scaled potential that becomes increasingly delocalized as $\varepsilon \to 0$. We will assume that both potentials $V_0(r), V_1(r)$ exhibit certain decay properties as $r \to \infty$. We show how the eigenvalue count on the positive real axis is built out of the spectra associated with the two reduced eigenvalue problems on their separate scales. The result is that the total number of eigenvalues of $Δ- W$ is the sum of the number of positive eigenvalues of $Δ- V_0$ and $Δ- V_1$. Our analysis combines dynamical systems techniques with a separation of scales argument, providing a novel framework for studying spectral properties of differential operators where multiple spatial scales interact.

An operator algebraic approach for generalized Cardano polynomials

We develop an operator algebraic framework for generalized Cardano polynomials and show how their structure naturally leads to an operator formulation of Cardano method that is compatible with tools and concepts from quantum information theory. The generalized Cardano polynomials are constructed as a generalization of classical theory of Cardano formula for cubic equation, as well as through the spectral properties of a circular operator W, expressed in terms of n dimensional clock operator. This representation embeds Cardano type identities into the spectral theory of circulant operators. The construction clarifies the algebraic structure and solvability of a family of two parameters odd order polynomials, classically and through operator methods familiar in QIT. As application, spectral calculus on operator algebras is used to construct Cardano generated POVMs.

Complex deformations of the circle: Group cohomology and Virasoro uniformization

We approach the question of complexification of the diffeomorphism group of the circle by considering real-analytic maps from the circle into the punctured complex plane with winding number +1. Such complex deformations form an infinite-dimensional manifold with partially defined inversion and composition operations, smooth in the sense of Frölicher structures, and with Lie algebra relations at the identity given by the Witt algebra. We compute their second group cohomology with real coefficients. It is generated by two cocycles: One cocycle extending the Bott-Thurston cocycle related to the Gelf'and-Fuks cocycle of the Virasoro algebra, and another Euler class cocycle combining mean rotation and conformal radius. Complex deformations act naturally on the (infinite-dimensional) Segal moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces with enumerated and analytically parametrized boundary components, equipping them with smooth Fr{ö}licher structures. We prove a Virasoro uniformization theorem: The tangent spaces of the Segal moduli spaces are spanned by vector fields induced by the Witt algebra. Finally, we relate the actions of complex deformations to Fenchel-Nielsen coordinates and Schiffer variation on finite-dimensional moduli spaces of bordered hyperbolic surfaces with one marked point on each boundary component.
