Confluence relations, Hoffman basis over \mathbb{Z}_{(2)}, and the Deligne--Drinfeld conjecture

Abstract

We express every admissible word as a $\mathbb{Z}_{(2)}$-linear combination of Hoffman words and explicit confluence relations. This implies that every multiple zeta value is a linear combination of elements of the Hoffman basis with coefficients having odd denominators, as conjectured by Hirose and Sato. Combined with Brown's theorem and Furusho's characterization of the Grothendieck--Teichmüller group $\mathrm{GRT}$ by confluence relations, our result identifies the de Rham motivic Galois group of mixed Tate motives over $\mathbb{Z}$ with $\mathrm{GRT}$ and gives an alternative proof of the Deligne--Drinfeld conjecture, for which a proof was previously presented in the OpenAI Math Release.

Correlations of values of random diagonal forms

We study the value distribution of diagonal forms in k variables and degree d with random real coefficients and positive integer variables, normalized so that mean spacing is one. We show that the l-correlation of almost all such forms is Poissonian when k is large enough depending on l and d.

Galois measures and the Katz map

The purpose of this paper is to explain the proofs of the results announced by Nick Katz in 1977, namely a description of ``Galois measures for Tate modules of height two formal groups over the ring of integers of a finite unramified extension of $\mathbf{Q}_p$''.
