Symplectic Lie groups and nilmanifolds associated with acyclic quivers

Abstract

We give combinatorial criteria for the existence of left-invariant symplectic forms on the positive and full path Lie groups of finite acyclic quivers. For the nilpotent positive path Lie groups, the criterion also determines whether their compact quotients admit symplectic forms and forces the nilpotency step to be at most three. For the completely solvable full path Lie groups, we give a direct combinatorial criterion and an equivalent recursive criterion. In the symplectic case, the recursive procedure is realized by successive Hamiltonian reductions ending at an abelian symplectic Lie group. We characterize the existence of Lagrangian normal subgroups for a given form in both families, with applications to Lagrangian torus fibrations of compact nilmanifolds. We also describe the cohomology rings of the compact symplectic nilmanifolds and determine all Lefschetz ranks.

A Multidimensional Birkhoff Theorem for some $C^0$ Lagrangians

We prove a multidimensional Birkhoff theorem for a new class of "$C^0$ Lagrangian subsets" in cotangent bundles, obtained as Hausdorff limits of compact exact Lagrangian submanifolds with control on their Liouville primitives. If the successive images of such a subset $L$ under the flow of a Tonelli Hamiltonian admit convergent subsequences in both positive and negative time, then $L$ and all its images are Lipschitz graphs over the base. This extends Birkhoff's celebrated theorem for twist maps of the annulus and its known higher-dimensional generalizations, and provides a first version of such results for merely continuous objects. The proof combines Floer-theoretic graph selectors, variational solutions of the Hamilton-Jacobi equation, and weak KAM theory. We also investigate the rigidity and uniqueness of limiting primitives for this new class of singular Lagrangian subsets, which may be of independent interest in $C^0$ symplectic topology.

Localization of Lagrangian Floer homology for $\mathbb{Z}_p$-actions

For an odd prime $p$, we prove a Smith inequality over $\mathbb{F}_p$ for exact Lagrangian Floer homology under a symplectic $\mathbb{Z}_p$-action, assuming an equivariant stable normal trivialization compatible with the Lagrangians and the required relative Pin data. As an application, we obtain a rank inequality between the symplectic Khovanov homology of a $p$-periodic link and that of its quotient. These results extend the involutive localization of Seidel and Smith. The main construction is a stabilized chain complex. At every invariant intersection point we adjoin the Morse complex of a finite-dimensional normal spectral sphere, whose generators lie in free $\mathbb{Z}_p$-orbits. The differential counts holomorphic strips coupled to sphere half-trajectories by a one-sided weighted asymptotic evaluation. We prove transversality, a uniform spectral cutoff, and the compactification and gluing statements needed for the chain identity. The stabilized complex is quasi-isomorphic to the ordinary Floer complex and contains the complex of the fixed data as a subcomplex with free quotient, so the algebraic Smith inequality applies.

Exotic symplectomorphisms of strong fillings

We prove a criterion for detecting exotic symplectomorphisms of strong fillings of closed contact manifolds. The criterion concerns symplectomorphisms induced by free contact circle actions on the boundary, and it is expressed purely in topological terms. As an application, we show that one-point blow-ups of an infinite family of Brieskorn varieties admit exotic compactly supported symplectomorphisms.
