Brennan's Conjecture and the Universal Integral Means Spectrum

Abstract

In October 2026, OpenAI released two preprints \cite{openai-brennan,openai-kraetzer}, establishing Brennan's celebrated conjecture~\cite{brennan,brennan2} and disproving Kraetzer's more general $t^2/4$ conjecture \cite{kraetzer, kraetzer-thesis}. While validating these results, we observed that much of their argument is redundant and arrived at a drastically shorter proof of a significantly stronger statement. The goal of this note is to give a short and concise presentation of the reborn proof, sacrificing some of the context and consequences for brevity, and relegating them to a follow-up work. In this particular case the human-AI interaction was fruitful and quite satisfactory, and hoping for a similar future in other subjects, we would paraphrase Rick Blaine: {\em ``AI, we hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.''}

Modulus of elementary domains in the hyperbolic plane

We study the modulus of curve families inside elementary domains in the hyperbolic plane $\bH^1_\C$. We establish exact expressions for the modulus of connecting and separating curve families in a hyperbolic circular annulus. For the symmetric hyperbolic quadrilateral $Q(a,b)$, we obtain lower bounds by restricting the curve families to particular foliations, and upper bounds by constructing admissible densities. These estimates bracket the modulus. We also present numerical evidence showing how close the bounds are, how they behave asymptotically, and we evaluate them for specific values of $(a,b)$.

The Schwarzian Derivative for Convex Holomorphic Mappings in Several Complex Variables

We obtain upper bounds for the norm of the Schwarzian derivative of convex holomorphic mappings defined on the polydisk and the unit ball in $\mathbb{C}^n$. For coordinate-wise convex mappings on the polydisk, we derive a sharp estimate extending the classical one-variable result of Chuaqui--Duren--Osgood to higher dimensions. For the Roper--Suffridge extension operator in the unit ball, we obtain an explicit bound that represents the best available estimate in this setting.
