A least-squares lower bound for capacity

Abstract

We establish a least-squares lower bound for the logarithmic capacity of an arbitrary compact plane set, extending an inequality previously known for connected sets. The bound generalizes classical inequalities involving area and moment of inertia. It is sharp for disks, and asymptotically sharp for compact sets whose capacity coincides with that of their interior. We further show that asymptotic sharpness holds for general compact sets if we replace logarithmic capacity by minimal carrier capacity.

Levi Flat Structures via Structure Sheaves: Differential Complexes, Convexity, and Global Solvability

This paper investigates Levi flat structures from the perspective of structure sheaves. We employ formal integrability to construct a class of differential complexes, thereby providing a resolution of the structure sheaf and a global realization of the Treves complex. Drawing inspiration from Morse theory and Grauert's convexity, we introduce notions of convexity and positivity that fully exploit Levi flatness, which yield global exactness of the differential complex and Sobolev regularity in the compact case. As applications, we establish the global solvability of the Treves complex for Levi flat structures, together with results on singular cohomology and the extension problem for canonical forms in the elliptic case.

Invariant metrics of model domains near pseudoconcave points

We give precise estimates of some holomorphically invariant infinitesimal metrics near a pseudoconcave points in a wide family of ``model'' domains for that situation in $\mathbb C^2$. This extends to metrics (rather distances) the authors' previous results from arXiv:2503.19754 and also takes into account defining functions more general than just power functions.

Oka complements in algebraic tori and their logarithmic covers

Suppose $n\ge2$ and $K\subset\C^n$ is compact and polynomially convex. Write $q(z)=(e^{-iz_1},\ldots,e^{-iz_n})$, $X_K=(\C^*)^n\setminus(K\cap(\C^*)^n)$, and $Y_K=\C^n\setminus q^{-1}(K)$. We prove that $X_K$ and its logarithmic covering $Y_K$ are Oka. More strongly, $Y_K$ admits normalized holomorphic families of entire embeddings through prescribed holomorphic sections. The proof combines polynomial pair Hamiltonian transport in multiplicative coordinates, compatible with the coordinate hyperplanes, with a fixed Fatou--Bieberbach model. Applications include Oka slab crosses over arbitrary nonempty connected planar domains, complements of periodic equal-radius Euclidean balls centered at products of planar lattices, and complements of sufficiently small closed metric balls in products of elliptic curves.
