Optical constraints on rotating logarithmic- and exponential-entropy wormholes from strong-field lensing

Abstract

The longstanding issue of whether horizonless compact objects can mimic black holes at horizon scales is addressed, a problem that persists because the shadow diameter alone is degenerate across a wide class of geometries. For slowly rotating traversable wormholes, we precisely formulate the optical appearance as a set of observables derived from equatorial null geodesics, yielding necessary and sufficient conditions for a multi-parameter fingerprint. Using a new lapse function that interpolates between exponential and rational redshift profiles, we obtain the photon-sphere condition, the strong-deflection lensing coefficients, and the Lyapunov exponent in closed form. The equations yield two families of wormhole solutions dependent on logarithmic and exponential entropy parameters. We compare the resulting quantum-modified spacetimes with Kerr and four regular black holes. The shadow diameter is shown to be tunable to within $5\%$ to $11\%$ of Kerr for all models considered, so that $|R_{\rm sh}^{\rm WH}/R_{\rm sh}^{\rm Kerr}-1| \lesssim 0.11$ and the shadow alone cannot separate the models. The degeneracy is lifted when the rotational asymmetry, lensing coefficients, Lyapunov exponent, and orbital frequency are combined: for the $5$-component fingerprint $\mathbf{F}=(\Arot,\abar,\bbar, \Lya,\Oph)$, the fractional deviation $Δ_i=(F_i^{\rm WH}-F_i^{\rm Kerr})/ F_i^{\rm Kerr}$ satisfies $|Δ_i|\gtrsim 0.05$ for every component, with the largest departures in the second lensing coefficient and the Lyapunov exponent. The combined discrimination signal reaches a signal-to-noise ratio of about $3.8$ to $3.9$ against Kerr and about $3.7$ against the Kazakov--Solodukhin benchmark, which is sufficient to break the shadow-diameter degeneracy at the $10\%$ measurement level.

The Topological Multiverse as the Self-Consistent Extension of Everettian QM to Quantum Gravity

The ``fine-tuning" of the fundamental constants, from the cosmological constant to the gauge structure of the Standard Model, suggests that our universe inhabits a rare, life-permitting island within a vast landscape of theoretical possibilities. We argue that this landscape arises as a self-consistent extension of Everettian quantum mechanics, once the Wheeler--DeWitt path integral is allowed to sum over admissible topologies rather than being restricted to a single background. Enlarging the DeWitt sum of geometries to include all smooth manifolds supporting causal dynamics promotes the dimensionality, gauge groups, and coupling constants from fixed background inputs to dynamical variables of the sum. Spacetime is admitted only where metric elements sustain an extended differentiable Lorentzian geometry. Omnipresent quantum metric fluctuations, combined with curvature-induced deformation, can drive a substantial fraction of elementary regions outside the nondegenerate Lorentzian class. Under the adopted admissibility condition, these regions are absent from the physical manifold and constitute quantum topological holes (QTHs). A quantum boundary $\mathcal{B}_Q$ occurs in collapse when the surviving Lorentzian regions lose the connectivity required for an extended differentiable spacetime; in the time-reversed expanding interpretation, it marks the onset of admissible spacetime rather than emergence from a singularity or a pre-geometric foam. At $\mathcal{B}_Q$, the integral generates a coherent superposition of distinct topologies that branch into disjoint U-sectors, each governed by its own effective field theory, with inter-sector transitions dynamically frozen shortly after nucleation. The topological multiverse is, in this view, not imposed but implicit in the quantum mechanics revealed by the sum over geometries.

Self-consistent Hubble expansion in exponential teleparallel gravity: confrontation with recent observations

We reconstruct the Hubble expansion history in exponential teleparallel gravity using recent cosmological observations, including Observational Hubble Data (OHD), the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument Data Release 2 (DESI DR2) baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) measurements, gravitational-wave (GW) standard-siren data, and the Pantheon Plus and SH0ES Type Ia supernova compilations. We explicitly demonstrate that exponential teleparallel gravity can be consistent with current cosmological observations through statistical analyses based on the reduced $χ^2$, Akaike Information Criterion (AIC), and Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC). In addition, we show that the present model of exponential teleparallel gravity can be viable cosmologically by analysing the dynamical evolution, stability conditions, and linear matter perturbations.

Dyonic black holes supporting nearly-black self-gravitating thin shells

It has recently been revealed that dyonic black-hole spacetimes of a quasitopological non-linear electrodynamic field theory may be characterized by discrete radial regions with the property $dg_{tt}(r)/dr=0$ in which spherically symmetric massive {\it test} shells (Dyson shells with negligible self-gravity) can be supported in static equilibrium states. In the present paper we prove that the dyonic spacetimes of the non-linear electrodynamic field theory may also be characterized by the presence of radial regions with the dimensionless property $d[r\cdot g_{tt}(r)]/dr\to0^+$ in which massive {\it self-gravitating} thin shells that are on the verge of becoming black holes can be supported in static equilibrium states. Intriguingly, it is proved that the discrete radii of these self-gravitating nearly-black Dyson shells are universal in the sense that they are independent of the masses of the central supporting dyonic compact objects.
