Mackey formulas for smooth stacks

Abstract

We study parabolic induction and restriction functors on derived categories of constructible sheaves, D-modules, and other sheaf theories on smooth stacks with good or adequate moduli spaces. We prove a commutation rule between them in the form of a Mackey filtration, indexed by the set of relative positions of two elements in the component lattice, a combinatorial structure that characterizes inductions and restrictions on a given stack. This generalizes similar results for adjoint quotient stacks studied in generalized Springer theory and the theory of character sheaves, and for stacks of quiver representations appearing in Lusztig's categorification of quantum groups. We also apply our result to the stack of semistable principal bundles on a curve, as a first step towards Mackey formulas in geometric Langlands correspondences.

Gelfand-Kirillov dimensions and annihilator varieties of highest weight modules of exceptional Lie algebras

Let $L(λ)$ be an irreducible highest weight module of a complex simple Lie algebra of exceptional type, with highest weight $λ-ρ$, where $ρ$ is half the sum of positive roots. Its annihilator variety is the closure of a nilpotent orbit of dimension twice the Gelfand--Kirillov (GK) dimension of $L(λ)$. We develop an explicit algorithm that determines both invariants for any infinitesimal character. The GK dimension is reduced to evaluating Lusztig's $\mathbf{a}$-function on the integral Weyl group of $λ$. After decomposing the integral root system into irreducible factors, classical factors are treated by the Robinson--Schensted insertion algorithm and the H-algorithm, while exceptional factors are handled by positive index reduction and PyCox. The annihilator orbit is then recovered from the local special datum by Springer theory and Sommers duality. An implementation is available online and takes $λ$ as input to compute the GK dimension and annihilator variety of $L(λ)$.

Weights and characters for affine Hecke algebras

Weights play an essential role in the classification of simple modules for affine Hecke algebras. In this paper we show the extent to which weights determine simple modules and relate this to induction and restriction along isogenies. We also describe the behaviour of hermitian duals and unitarity under induction and restriction along isogenies.

Categorification of the genus two DAHA

We construct three derived endofunctors on the derived category of graded integrable representations of the current algebra of a flat degeneration of $D(2|1,α)$, and prove that their classes in the Grothendieck group are the genus two Macdonald operators. Computing the graded $\operatorname{Ext}$ pairing explicitly, we deduce the self-adjointness of the genus two Macdonald operators and the orthogonality of genus $2$ Macdonald polynomials with respect to the certain skew-bilinear form.
