Affine and cyclotomic Brauer categorification via $\imath$-Kac--Moody $2$-categories: the integral type $\operatorname{AIII}$ case

Abstract

Continuing our work on the half-integral case, we construct generalized nilpotent $2$-representations of the integral quasi-split type $\operatorname{AIII}$ $\imath$-Kac--Moody $2$-category from affine Brauer actions with dot spectrum exactly $\mathbb Z$ on locally Schurian $\mathbb C$-linear categories. Conversely, nilpotent $2$-representations on such categories yield affine Brauer actions with spectrum contained in $\mathbb Z$. At the fixed vertex $0$, we directly define corrected generators and verify the nil-Brauer and mixed relations. For $\mathbf u$-admissible integral parameters at arbitrary positive level, we prove an isomorphism between the locally unital algebras of the cyclotomic Brauer category and a cyclotomic quotient of the principal $2$-representation. This gives compatible $\mathbb Z$-gradings on the category and its endomorphism algebras, providing a Brauer analogue of the graded realization of type $A$ cyclotomic Hecke algebras. Over algebraically closed fields of odd characteristic $p$, we also obtain both constructions with spectrum contained in $\mathbb F_p$, for the mixed affine datum restricted to its spectral weight subgroup.

Positivity for toric Kac polynomials in higher depth

We prove that the polynomials counting locally free, absolutely indecomposable, rank 1 representations of quivers over rings of truncated power series have non-negative coefficients. This generalizes the positivity of toric Kac polynomials to higher depth. The proof goes by inductively contracting/deleting arrows of the quiver and is inspired by a previous work of Abdelgadir, Mellit and Rodriguez-Villegas on toric Kac polynomials. We also relate counts of absolutely indecomposable quiver representations in higher depth and counts of jets over fibres of quiver moment maps. This is expressed as a plethystic identity involving generating series of these counts. In rank 1, we prove a cohomological upgrade of this identity, by computing the compactly supported cohomology of jet spaces over preprojective stacks. This is reminiscent of PBW isomorphisms for preprojective cohomological Hall algebras. Finally, our plethystic identity allows us to prove two conjectures by Wyss on the asymptotic behavior of both counts, when depth goes to infinity.

Box Order and Dominance Order on Standard Young Tableaux

We generalize results of [1] concerning two partial orders on Standard Young Tableaux: the dominance order and the box order. Extending their definitions from tableaux of a fixed shape to the set Tr of all Standard Young Tableaux of a fixed size r, we prove that these orders coincide in this more general setting. We also investigate basic properties of these orders. We further show that this result extends to Littlewood-Richardson tableaux whose skew shapes are rook strips. We briefly mention applications to invariant subspaces of nilpotent linear operators.

Distinction of the Steinberg representation with respect to a symmetric pair

Let $K$ be a non-archimedean local field of residual characteristic $p\neq 2$. Let $G$ be a connected reductive group over $K$, let $θ$ be an involution of $G$ over $K$, and let $H$ be the connected component of $θ$-fixed subgroup of $G$ over $K$. By realizing the Steinberg representation of $G$ as the $G$-space of complex smooth harmonic cochains following the idea of Broussous--Courtès, we study its space of distinction by $H$ as a finite dimensional complex vector space. We give an upper bound of the dimension, and under certain conditions, we show that the upper bound is sharp by explicitly constructing a basis using the technique of Poincaré series. Finally, we apply our general theory to the case where $G$ is a general linear group and $H$ a special orthogonal subgroup, which leads to a complete classification result.
