Finite-step projective dynamics of Schrödinger cocycles: non-degeneracy, regularity, and rigidity

Abstract

We study the no deterministic images condition (NDI) for Schrödinger cocycles, which excludes a common image of a fixed probability measure under almost all projective transfer transformations. We prove two-step NDI at every energy for nonconstant measurable potentials over mixing systems and ergodic potentials with infinite essential range, and classify persistence for finite-state locally constant potentials. For bounded Markov and hidden Markov potentials on general state spaces under a one-step $L^2$ norm gap condition on the Markov operator, we prove Hölder bounds for solution-direction distributions above an exponential cutoff and Hölder conditional stationary measures. Counterexamples show the essential sharpness of both assumptions. For nonconstant real trigonometric potentials, including the almost Mathieu operator, we prove NDI and Hölder bounds for distributions of solution directions at all steps $k\ge2$ and all frequencies (rational or irrational). The exponent depends on the step, while the constant is uniform in steps, frequency and energy on compact intervals. For every irrational frequency and every energy with positive Lyapunov exponent, we prove non-atomicity of both Oseledets direction distributions and convergence to the unstable distribution from every phase-independent initial probability. This gives a new criterion for a zero Lyapunov exponent: a subsequential limit with an atom for one fixed initial direction suffices. All these results extend to an analytic class, with step-dependent regularity bounds.

Ground State Energy of Dilute Fermi Gases in 1D

We study the one-dimensional spin-$J$ Fermi gas, interacting through a general repulsive 2-body potential, and prove asymptotics of the ground state energy in the dilute limit. The asymptotic behaviour is given in terms of the ground state energy of a spin chain, which is the Heisenberg antiferromagnet in the case of spin-1/2 fermions. We determine similar asymptotics for the Lieb-Liniger-Heisenberg model, showing that a product trial state used by Girardeau is not optimal.

Magnetic Hardy inequalities with singular integral weights

In this paper we present Hardy type inequalities for magnetic Dirichlet forms with singular integral weights. We analyze the local and global optimality of the integral weight and discuss several examples in details. An application of our results to spectral estimates for magnetic Schrödinger operators is provided as well.

Perturbative anomalies in quantum mechanics

In this work, we propose a cohomological approach to studying perturbative anomalies in quantum mechanics. The Hamiltonian $\hat{H}$ together with the symmetry generator $\hat{S}$ forms a unitary representation of the two-dimensional Abelian Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}\cong \mathbb{R}^{2}$ on the Hilbert space $V$. We show that perturbations of such a system are related to the first Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology group $H^{1}_{CE}(\mathbb{R}^{2},\mathfrak{u}(V))$. In turn, the perturbative anomalies of the symmetry $\hat{S}$ are related to the second cohomology group $H^{2}_{CE}(\mathbb{R}^{2},\mathfrak{u}(V))$.
