$K$-theory of finite monoid sets

Abstract

In this paper we classify the algebraic K-theory of sets equipped with an action by a finite abelian monoid. The main tool developed for this purpose is an Orbit-Stabilizer Theorem, which gives a decomposition of monoid sets analogous to the decomposition given by the Orbit-Stabilizer Theorem for G-sets.

Algebraic $\mathbb{A}^{1}$-invariance of K-theory for affinoid Tate adic spaces of good reduction

We establish homotopy invariance for connective continuous K-theory of affinoid Tate adic spaces of good reduction with respect to the algebraic affine line, distinct from the adic affine line as analytic stacks. We approach this through an investigation of boundedness of t-structures on nuclear module categories, to which end we also study ultrasolid modules, a variant of solid modules, and their properties.

Koszul duality for boundary categories

We study how Koszul duality relates two kinds of boundary constructions associated with a smooth category and a proper category. For a smooth category with a proper Koszul-dualizing subcategory, we construct a fully faithful functor from its categorical neighborhood of infinity to the singularity category associated to the proper category. We prove that this functor is an equivalence precisely when the smooth category is reflexive, meaning that it can be reconstructed from its finite-dimensional module theory. Under a Gorenstein condition, satisfied in the Calabi--Yau setting, the functor is induced by restriction of modules. We give algebraic criteria that ensure equivalence and obtain an identification of Hochschild cohomology.

Counterexamples to torsion-freeness in the $K$-theory of crystallographic group $C^*$-algebras

We give a negative answer to a question of Sánchez Saldaña--Velásquez and Lück asking whether the topological K-theory of the reduced group C*-algebra of a split crystallographic group with finite cyclic holonomy is always torsion-free. For two explicit split crystallographic groups with translation subgroup of rank four and holonomy of order four, we compute the equivariant K-theory of the classifying space for proper actions and find nontrivial two-torsion. The equivariant universal coefficient theorem transfers this torsion to proper equivariant K-homology, and the Baum--Connes conjecture identifies the resulting groups with the topological K-theory of the corresponding reduced group C*-algebras.
