One-loop matching of the LEFT to the QCD gradient flow

We present the complete one-loop matching of the baryon- and lepton-number-conserving low-energy effective field theory (LEFT) to the QCD gradient flow. Using Euclidean conventions and the background-field formulation of the gradient flow, we derive the short-flow-time expansion for the full LEFT operator basis up to mass dimension six. The matching is performed in dimensional regularization in the algebraically consistent 't Hooft-Veltman scheme, including a systematic treatment of evanescent operators and the finite counterterms required to restore chiral symmetry in the spurion sense. Keeping fully generic flavor structures, we verify the cancellation of spurious chiral-symmetry-violating terms with the known finite symmetry-restoring counterterms. This demonstrates that the gradient flow as a gauge-invariant ultraviolet regulator enables an efficient extraction of both divergent and finite counterterms in addition to the matching contributions. We provide the matching coefficients both before and after field redefinitions that remove redundant operators, as well as power-divergent mixings into lower-dimensional operators. Our results establish a consistent perturbative link between continuum LEFT calculations and gradient-flow-based lattice-QCD matrix elements, enabling precision low-energy phenomenology beyond leading-logarithmic accuracy.

Radiative corrections to superallowed beta decays at $\mathcal O(α^2 Z)$

We compute $\mathcal O(α^2 Z)$ radiative corrections to superallowed $β$ decays with a heavy-particle effective field theory that systematically describes the interactions of low-energy ultrasoft photons with nuclei. We calculate two-loop virtual and one-loop real-virtual amplitudes by reducing the Feynman integrals to a set of master integrals, which we solve analytically using a variety of techniques. These techniques can be applied to other phenomenologically interesting observables. The ultrasoft corrections can then be combined with contributions arising from the exchange of potential photons to obtain the complete $\mathcal O(α^2 Z)$ correction to the decay rate, with resummation of large logarithms of the electron energy times the nuclear radius. We find that $\mathcal O(α^2 Z)$ ultrasoft loops induce a relative correction to the decay rate that ranges from $0.7 \cdot 10^{-3}$ in the decay of $^{10}$C to $3.6 \cdot 10^{-3}$ in the decay of $^{54}$Co, and will thus impact the extraction of $V_{ud}$ at the permille level. We show that the inclusion of these corrections reduces the residual renormalization scale dependence of the decay rate to a negligible level, making missing ultrasoft perturbative corrections a subdominant source of theoretical error.

One-loop matching of the $CP$-odd three-gluon operator to the gradient flow

The calculation of the neutron electric dipole moment within effective field theories for physics beyond the Standard Model requires non-perturbative hadronic matrix elements of effective operators composed of quark and gluon fields. In order to use input from lattice computations, these matrix elements must be translated from a scheme suitable for lattice QCD to the minimal-subtraction scheme used in the effective-field-theory framework. The accuracy goal in the context of the neutron electric dipole moment necessitates at least a one-loop matching calculation. Here, we provide the one-loop matching coefficients for the $CP$-odd three-gluon operator between two different minimally subtracted 't Hooft-Veltman schemes and the gradient flow. This completes our program to obtain the one-loop gradient-flow matching coefficients for all $CP$-violating and flavor-conserving operators in the low-energy effective field theory up to dimension six.

Flavor Non-universal Vector Leptoquark Imprints in $K\to πν\bar ν$ and $ΔF = 2$ Transitions

We analyze $K\to πν\bar ν$ rates in a model with a TeV-scale leptoquark addressing $B$-meson anomalies, based on the flavor non-universal 4321 gauge group featuring third-generation quark-lepton unification. We show that, together with the tight bounds imposed by $ΔF = 2$ amplitudes, the present measurement of $\mathcal{B}(K^+ \to π^+ ν\barν)$ already provides a non-trivial constraint on the model parameter space. In the minimal version of the model, the deviations from the Standard Model in $\mathcal{B}(K^+ \to π^+ ν\barν)$ are predicted to be in close correlation with non-standard effects in the Lepton Flavor Universality ratios $R_D$ and $R_{D^*}$. With the help of future data, these correlations can provide a decisive test of the model.
