Two Higgs Doublet Model From Quasilocal Quark Interactions

Quark models with four-fermion interaction including derivatives of fields in the strong coupling regime are used to implement composite-Higgs extensions of the Standard Model. In this approach the dynamical breaking of chiral symmetry occurs in two (or more) channels (near polycritical values for coupling constants), giving rise to two (or more) composite Higgs doublets. Two types of models are built for which Flavour Changing Neutral Currents (FCNC) are naturally suppressed. In the first Model I the second Higgs doublet is regarded as a radial excitation of the first one. In the second Model II the quasilocal Yukawa interaction with Higgs doublets reduces at low energies to a conventional local one where each Higgs doublet couples to a definite charge current and its v.e.v. brings the mass either to up- or to down-components of fermion doublets. For the special configuration of four-fermion coupling constants the dynamical CP-violation in the Higgs sector appears as a result of complexity of v.e.v. for Higgs doublets.

Matrix Hamiltonians: SUSY approach to hidden symmetries

A new supersymmetric approach to the analysis of dynamical symmetries for matrix quantum systems is presented. Contrary to standard one dimensional quantum mechanics where there is no role for an additional symmetry due to nondegeneracy, matrix hamiltonians allow for non-trivial residual symmetries. This approach is based on a generalization of the intertwining relations familiar in SUSY Quantum Mechanics. The corresponding matrix supercharges, of first or of second order in derivatives, lead to an algebra which incorporates an additional block diagonal differential matrix operator (referred to as a "hidden" symmetry operator) found to commute with the superhamiltonian. We discuss some physical interpretations of such dynamical systems in terms of spin 1/2 particle in a magnetic field or in terms of coupled channel problem. Particular attention is paid to the case of transparent matrix potentials.

Determination of Scalar Meson Masses in QCD-inspired Quark Models

We compare two QCD-inspired quark models with four-fermion interaction, without and with the remnant coupling to low-energy gluons, in the regime of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking (DCSB). The first one, the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model ensures the factorization of scalar and pseudoscalar meson poles in correlators, the well-known Nambu relation between the scalar meson mass and the dynamical quark mass, $m_σ = 2 m_{dyn}$, and the residual chiral symmetry in coupling constants characteristic for the linear $σ$-model. The second one, the Gauged NJL model, happens to be qualitatively different from the NJL model, namely, the Nambu relation is not valid and the factorization of light meson poles does not entail the residual chiral symmetry, i.e. it does not result in a linear $σ$-model. The more complicated DCSB pattern in the GNJL model is fully explained in terms of excited meson states with the same quantum numbers. The asymptotic restrictions on parameters of scalar and pseudoscalar meson states are derived from the requirement of chiral symmetry restoration at high energies.

Cancellation of Leading Divergencies in Left-Right Electroweak Model and Heavy Particles

The fine-tuning principles are analyzed in search for estimations of heavy particle masses in the left-right (LR) symmetric model. The modification of Veltman condition based on the hypothesis of the compensation between fermion and boson vacuum energies within the LR Model multiplets is proposed. The hypothesis is supplied with the requirement of the stability under rescaling. With regard to these requirements the necessity of existence of right-handed Majorana neutrinos with masses of order of right-handed gauge bosons is shown and estimations on the top-quark mass which are in a good agreement with the experimental value are obtained.

Dimensional structural constants from chiral and conformal bosonization of QCD

We derive the dimensional non-perturbative part of the QCD effective action for scalar and pseudoscalar meson fields by means of chiral and conformal bosonization. The related structural coupling constants L_5 and L_8 of the chiral lagrangian are estimated using general relations which are valid in a variety of chiral bosonization models without explicit reference to model parameters. The asymptotics for large scalar fields in QCD is elaborated, and model-independent constraints on dimensional coupling constants of the effective meson lagrangian are evaluated. We determine also the interaction between scalar quarkonium and the gluon density and obtain the scalar glueball-quarkonium potential.

Dynamical Lorentz Symmetry Breaking from 3 + 1 Renormalizable Model with Wess-Zumino Interaction

We study the renormalizable abelian vector-field models in the presence of the Wess-Zumino interaction with the pseudoscalar matter. The renormalizability is achieved by supplementing the standard kinetic term of vector fields with higher derivatives. The appearance of fourth power of momentum in the vector-field propagator leads to the super-renormalizable theory in which the beta-function, the vector-field renormalization constant and the anomalous mass dimension are calculated exactly. It is shown that this model has the infrared stable fixed point and its low-energy limit is non-trivial. The modified effective potential for the pseudoscalar matter leads to the occurrence of the quantum dynamical breaking of Lorentz symmetry.

Composite two-Higgs model with dynamical CP-violation

Quark models with four-fermion interaction including derivatives of fields are exploited as prototypes for composite-Higgs extensions of the Standard Model. In the non-trivial case of two- and four-derivative insertions the dynamical breaking of chiral symmetry occurs in two channels, giving rise to two composite Higgs doublets. For special configuration of four-fermion coupling constants the dynamical CP-violation in the Higgs sector appears as a result of complexity of two v.e.v. for Higgs doublets. In this scenario the second Higgs doublet is regarded as a radial excitation of the first one.

Higher Order SUSY in Quantum Mechanics and Integrability of Two-dimensional Hamiltonians

The new method based on the SUSY algebra with supercharges of higher order in derivatives is proposed to search for dynamical symmetry operators in 2-dim quantum and classical systems. These symmetry operators arise when closing the SUSY algebra for a wide set of potentials. In some cases they are of 2-nd order in derivatives. The particular solutions are obtained also for potentials accepting symmetry operators of 4-th order. The investigation of quasiclassical limit of the SUSY algebra yields new classical integrals of motion for a certain type of systems which are polynomials of 4-th order in momenta. The general SUSY-inspired algorithm to construct classical systems with additional integrals of motion is outlined.

Local realizations of $q$-Oscillators in Quantum Mechanics

Representations of the quantum q-oscillator algebra are studied with particular attention to local Hamiltonian representations of the Schroedinger type. In contrast to the standard harmonic oscillators such systems exhibit a continuous spectrum. The general scheme of realization of the q-oscillator algebra on the space of wave functions for a one-dimensional Schroedinger Hamiltonian shows the existence of non-Fock irreducible representations associated to the continuous part of the spectrum and directly related to the deformation. An algorithm for the mapping of energy levels is described.

Fine tuning in the Standard Model and Beyond

The fine-tuning principles are examined to predict the top-quark and Higgs-boson masses. The modification of the Veltman condition based on the compensation of vacuum energies is developed. It is implemented in the Standard Model and in its minimal extension with two Higgs doublets and Left-Right symmetric Model. The top-quark and Higgs-boson couplings are fitted in the SM for the lowest ultraviolet scale where the fine-tuning can be stable under rescaling. It yields the low-energy values $m_t \simeq 175 GeV;\quad m_H \simeq 210 GeV$. For the Two-Higgs and Left-Right Symmetric Models the fine-tuning principles yield the interval for top-quark mass, compatible with the modern experimental data. For the Left-Right Model the FT principles demand the existence of the right-handed Majorana neitrinos with masses of order of right-handed gauge bosons.

Lorentz Symmetry Breaking in Abelian Vector-Field Models with Wess-Zumino Interaction

We consider the abelian vector-field models in the presence of the Wess-Zumino interaction with the pseudoscalar matter. The occurence of the dynamic breaking of Lorentz symmetry at classical and one-loop level is described for massless and massive vector fields. This phenomenon appears to be the non-perturbative counterpart of the perturbative renormalizability and/or unitarity breaking in the chiral gauge theories.

Higher-Order Derivative Susy in Quantum Mechanics with Large Energy Shifts

Within the framework of second order derivative (one dimensional) SUSYQM we discuss particular realizations which incorporate large energy shifts between the lowest states of the spectrum of the superhamiltonian (of Schrödinger type). The technique used in this construction is based on the "gluing" procedure. We study the limit of infinite energy shift for the charges of the Higher Derivative SUSY Algebra, and compare the results with those of the standard SUSY Algebra. We conjecture that our results can suggest a construction of a toy model where large energy splittings between fermionic and bosonic partners do not affect the SUSY at low energies.

Polynomial SUSY in Quantum Mechanics and Second Derivative Darboux Transformation

We give the classification of second-order polynomial SUSY Quantum Mechanics in one and two dimensions. The particular attention is paid to the irreducible supercharges which cannot be built by repetition of ordinary Darboux transformations. In two dimensions it is found that the binomial superalgebra leads to the dynamic symmetry generated by a central charge operator.

Second Order Derivative Supersymmetry and Scattering Problem

Extensions of standard one-dimensional supersymmetric quantum mechanics are discussed. Supercharges involving higher order derivatives are introduced leading to an algebra which incorporates a higher order polynomial in the Hamiltonian. We study scattering amplitudes for that problem. We also study the role of a dilatation of the spatial coordinate leading to a q-deformed supersymmetric algebra. An explicit model for the scattering amplitude is constructed in terms of a hypergeometric function which corresponds to a reflectionless potential with infinitely many bound states.

Vacuum fine tuning and empirical estimations of masses of the top-quark and Higgs boson

The fine-tuning principles are analyzed in search for predictions of top-quark and Higgs-boson masses. The modification of Veltman condition based on the compensation between fermion and boson vacuum energies within the Standard Model multiplets is proposed. It is supplied with the stability under rescaling and with the requirement of minimum for the physical v. e. v. for the Higgs field (zero anomalous dimension). Their joint solution for top-quark and Higgs-boson couplings exists for the cutoff $Λ\approx 2.3 \cdot 10^{13}\,GeV$ that yields the low-energy values $m_t = 151 \pm 4\,GeV; m_H = 195 \pm 7\,GeV$.

Higher-Derivative Supersymmetry and the Witten Index

Higher-derivative generalization of the supersymmetric quantum mechanics is proposed. It is formally based on the standard superalgebra but supercharges involve differential operators of the order $n$. As a result, their anticommutator entails polynomial of a Hamiltonian. The Witten index does not characterize spontaneous supersymmetry breaking in such models.
