New detectors of the Experimental complex NEVOD for multicomponent EAS detection

Experimental complex (EC) NEVOD includes a number of unique experimental facilities for studies of main components of cosmic rays on the Earth's surface. The complex is used for the basic research of CR flux characteristics and their interactions in the energy range 10^15 - 10^19 eV, and for applied investigations directed to the development of methods of the muon diagnostics of the atmosphere and the Earth's magnetosphere and near-terrestrial space. To extend the experimental capabilities and raising the status of the installation to the Mega Science level, nowadays new large-scale detectors: array for the EAS registration - NEVOD-EAS, detector of atmospheric neutrons - URAN, and large-area coordinate-tracking detector - TREK, are being deployed around EC NEVOD. The description of new detectors and a common trigger system to ensure the joint operation together with other detectors of EC NEVOD are presented.

Wavelet-analysis of series of observations of relative sunspot numbers. The dependence of the periods of cyclic activity on the time at different time scales

We applied the method of continuous wavelet-transform to high-quality time-frequency analysis to the sets of observations of relative sunspot numbers. Wavelet analysis of these data reveals the following pattern: at the same time there are several activity cycles whose periods vary widely from the quasi biennial up to the centennial period. These relatively low-frequency periodic variations of the solar activity gradually change the values of periods of different cycles in time. This phenomenon can be observed in every cycle of activity.

Fractal properties of the large-scale structure

The statistical analysis and the spherical wavelet analysis of the SDSS DR7 quasars distribution and of the WMAP CMB anisotropy are performed. They revealed the qualitative agreement between the angular power spectrum of CMB and the angular power spectrum of the quasar distribution on the celestial sphere. The angular correlation function and the angular power spectrum of the quasar distribution may be described by the power laws. The large quasar groups are discovered and they form the fractal set: the relation between their angular size and a number of quasar groups with this size is characterized by a power-law with fractal dimension 2.08.

The First Stage of Polarization Program Spascharm at the Accelerator U-70 of Ihep

The first stage of the proposed polarization program SPASCHARM includes the measurements of the single-spin asymmetry (SSA) in exclusive and inclusive reactions with production of stable hadrons and the light meson and baryon resonances. In this study we foresee of using the variety of the unpolarized beams (pions, kaons, protons and antiprotons) in the energy range of 30-60 GeV. The polarized proton and deuteron targets will be used for revealing the flavor and isotopic spin dependencies of the polarization phenomena. The neutral and charged particles in the final state will be detected.

Prediction of the in-Gap States Above the Top of the Valence Band in the Undoped Insulating Cuprates due to Spin-Polaron Effect

In the framework of the generalized tight binding method we have calculated the quasiparticle band structure and the spectral functions of the undoped cuprates like $La_2 CuO_4$, $Sr_2CuO_2Cl_2$ etc. Due to spin fluctuations the in-gap state appears above the top of the valence band in the undoped antiferromagnetic insulator similar to in-gap states induced by hole doping. In the ARPES experiments the in-gap states can be detected as weak low energy satellites.

Determination of the high-twist contribution to the structure function $xF^{νN}_3$

We extract the high-twist contribution to the neutrino-nucleon structure function $xF_3^{(ν+\barν)N}$ from the analysis of the data collected by the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector in the runs with the focused neutrino beams at the IHEP 70 GeV proton synchrotron. The analysis is performed within the infrared renormalon (IRR) model of high twists in order to extract the normalization parameter of the model. From the NLO QCD fit to our data we obtained the value of the IRR model normalization parameter $Λ^2_{3}=0.69\pm0.37~({\rm exp})\pm0.16~({\rm theor})~{\rm GeV}^2$. We also obtained $Λ^2_{3}=0.36\pm0.22~({\rm exp})\pm0.12~({\rm theor})~{\rm GeV}^2$ from a similar fit to the CCFR data. The average of both results is $Λ^2_{3}=0.44\pm0.19~({\rm exp})~{\rm GeV}^2$.
