3-dimensional $Λ$-BMS Symmetry and its Deformations

In this paper we study quantum group deformations of the infinite dimensional symmetry algebra of asymptotically AdS spacetimes in three dimensions. Building on previous results in the finite dimensional subalgebras we classify all possible Lie bialgebra structures and for selected examples, we explicitly construct the related Hopf algebras. Using cohomological arguments we show that this construction can always be performed by a so-called twist deformation. The resulting structures can be compared to the well-known $κ$-Poincaré Hopf algebras constructed on the finite dimensional Poincaré or (anti) de Sitter algebra. The dual $κ$ Minkowski spacetime is supposed to describe a specific non-commutative geometry. Importantly, we find that some incarnations of the $κ$-Poincaré can not be extended consistently to the infinite dimensional algebras. Furthermore, certain deformations can have potential physical applications if subalgebras are considered. Since the conserved charges associated with asymptotic symmetries in 3-dimensional form a centrally extended algebra we also discuss briefly deformations of such algebras. The presence of the full symmetry algebra might have observable consequences that could be used to rule out these deformations. }

BMS algebras in 4 and 3 dimensions, their quantum deformations and duals

BMS symmetry is a symmetry of asymptotically flat spacetimes in the vicinity of the null boundary of spacetime and it is expected to play a fundamental role in physics. It is interesting therefore to investigate the structures and properties of quantum deformations of these symmetries, which are expected to shed some light on symmetries of quantum spacetime. In this paper we discuss the structure of the algebra of extended BMS symmetries in 3 and 4 spacetime dimensions, realizing that these algebras contain an infinite number of distinct Poincaré subalgebras, a fact that has previously been noted in the 3-dimensional case only. Then we use these subalgebras to construct an infinite number of different Hopf algebras being quantum deformations of the BMS algebras. We also discuss different types of twist-deformations and the dual Hopf algebras, which could be interpreted as noncommutative, extended quantum spacetimes.

$κ$-deformed BMS symmetry

We present the quantum $κ$-deformation of BMS symmetry, by generalizing the lightlike $κ$-Poincaré Hopf algebra. On the technical level, our analysis relies on the fact that the lightlike $κ$-deformation of Poincaré algebra is given by a twist and the lightlike deformation of any algebra containing Poincaré as a subalgebra can be done with the help of the same twisting element. We briefly comment on the physical relevance of the obtained $κ$-BMS Hopf algebra as a possible asymptotic symmetry of quantum gravity.

Basic quantizations of $D=4$ Euclidean, Lorentz, Kleinian and quaternionic $\mathfrak{o}^{\star}(4)$ symmetries

We construct firstly the complete list of five quantum deformations of $D=4$ complex homogeneous orthogonal Lie algebra $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})\cong \mathfrak{o}(3;\mathbb{C})\oplus \mathfrak{o}(3;\mathbb{C})$, describing quantum rotational symmetry of four-dimensional complex space-time, in particular we provide the corresponding universal quantum $R$-matrices. Further applying four possible reality conditions we obtain all sixteen Hopf-algebraic quantum deformations for the real forms of $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$: Euclidean $\mathfrak{o}(4)$, Lorentz $\mathfrak{o}(3,1)$, Kleinian $\mathfrak{o}(2,2)$ and quaternionic $\mathfrak{o}^{\star}(4)$. For $\mathfrak{o}(3,1)$ we only recall well-known results obtained previously by the authors, but for other real Lie algebras (Euclidean, Kleinian, quaternionic) as well as for the complex Lie algebra $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$ we present new results.

Quantum deformations of $D=4$ Euclidean, Lorentz, Kleinian and quaternionic $\mathfrak{o}^{\star}(4)$ symmetries in unified $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$ setting -- Addendum

In our previous paper we obtained a full classification of nonequivalent quasitriangular quantum deformations for the complex $D=4$ Euclidean Lie symmetry $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$. The result was presented in the form of a list consisting of three three-parameter, one two-parameter and one one-parameter nonisomorphic classical $r$-matrices which provide 'directions' of the nonequivalent quantizations of $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$. Applying reality conditions to the complex $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$ $r$-matrices we obtained the nonisomorphic classical $r$-matrices for all possible real forms of $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$: Euclidean $\mathfrak{o}(4)$, Lorentz $\mathfrak{o}(3,1)$, Kleinian $\mathfrak{o}(2,2)$ and quaternionic $\mathfrak{o}^{\star}(4)$ Lie algebras. In the case of $\mathfrak{o}(4)$ and $\mathfrak{o}(3,1)$ real symmetries these $r$-matrices give the full classifications of the inequivalent quasitriangular quantum deformations, however for $\mathfrak{o}(2,2)$ and $\mathfrak{o}^{\star}(4)$ the classifications are not full. In this paper we complete these classifications by adding three new three-parameter $\mathfrak{o}(2,2)$-real $r$-matrices and one new three-parameter $\mathfrak{o}^{\star}(4)$-real $r$-matrix. All nonisomorphic classical $r$-matrices for all real forms of $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$ are presented in the explicite form what is convenient for providing the quantizations. We will mention also some applications of our results to the deformations of space-time symmetries and string $σ$-models.

Quantum deformations of D=4 Euclidean, Lorentz, Kleinian and quaternionic o^*(4) symmetries in unified o(4;C) setting

We employ new calculational technique and present complete list of classical $r$-matrices for $D=4$ complex homogeneous orthogonal Lie algebra $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$, the rotational symmetry of four-dimensional complex space-time. Further applying reality conditions we obtain the classical $r$-matrices for all possible real forms of $\mathfrak{o}(4;\mathbb{C})$: Euclidean $\mathfrak{o}(4)$, Lorentz $\mathfrak{o}(3,1)$, Kleinian $\mathfrak{o}(2,2)$ and quaternionic $\mathfrak{o}^{\star}(4)$ Lie algebras. For $\mathfrak{o}(3,1)$ we get known four classical $D=4$ Lorentz $r$-matrices, but for other real Lie algebras (Euclidean, Kleinian, quaternionic) we provide new results and mention some applications.

Demonstration of an 8D Modulation Format with Reduced Inter-Channel Nonlinearities in a Polarization Multiplexed Coherent System

We demonstrate a polarization-managed 8-dimensional modulation format that is time domain coded to reduce inter-channel nonlinearity. Simulation results show a 2.33 dB improvement in maximum net system margin (NSM) relative to polarization multiplexed (PM)-BPSK, and a 1.0 dB improvement relative to time interleaved return to zero (RZ)-PM-BPSK, for a five channel fill propagating on 20x80 km spans of 90% compensated ELEAF. In contrast to the other modulations considered, the new 8-dimentional (8D) format has negligible sensitivity to the polarization states of the neighboring channels. Laboratory results from High-density WDM (HD-WDM) propagation experiments on a 5000 km dispersion-managed link show a 1 dB improvement in net system margin relative to PM-BPSK.

New class of quantum deformations of D=4 Euclidean supersymmetry

We present the class of deformations of simple Euclidean superalgebra, which describe the supersymmetrization of some Lie algebraic noncommutativity of D=4 Euclidean space-time. The presented deformations are generated by the supertwists. We provide new explicit formulae for a chosen twisted D=4 Euclidean Hopf superalgebra and describe the corresponding quantum covariant deformation of chiral Euclidean superspace.

Conformal and Affine Hamiltonian Dynamics of General Relativity

The Hamiltonian approach to the General Relativity is formulated as a joint nonlinear realization of conformal and affine symmetries by means of the Dirac scalar dilaton and the Maurer-Cartan forms. The dominance of the Casimir vacuum energy of physical fields provides a good description of the type Ia supernova luminosity distance--redshift relation. Introducing the uncertainty principle at the Planck's epoch within our model, we obtain the hierarchy of the Universe energy scales, which is supported by the observational data. We found that the invariance of the Maurer-Cartan forms with respect to the general coordinate transformation yields a single-component strong gravitational waves. The Hamiltonian dynamics of the model describes the effect of an intensive vacuum creation of gravitons and the minimal coupling scalar (Higgs) bosons in the Early Universe.

AdS-Maxwell Bf Theory As A Model Of Gravity And Bi-Gravity

This article presents an extended model of gravity obtained by gauging the AdS-Mawell algebra. It involves additional fields that shift the spin connection, leading effectively to theory of two independent connections. Extension of algebraic structure by another tetrad gives rise to the model described by a pair of Einstein equations.

Condensate mechanism of conformal symmetry breaking

The low energy Gell-Mann-Oakes-Renner relation, Higgs particle mass value, and the new observational cosmological data are considered as evidence of the condensate mechanism of conformal symmetry breaking at the quantum level. The condensate mechanism occurs by means of normal ordering of field operators in QCD, Minimal Standard Model of electroweak interactions without the Higgs potential, and the Dirac conformal General Relativity with long range forces.

N=1/2 Deformations of Chiral Superspaces from New Quantum Poincare and Euclidean Superalgebras

We present a large class of supersymmetric classical r-matrices, describing the supertwist deformations of Poincare and Euclidean superalgebras. We consider in detail new family of four supertwists of N=1 Poincare superalgebra and provide as well their Euclidean counterpart. The proposed supertwists are better adjusted to the description of deformed D=4 Euclidean supersymmetries with independent left-chiral and right-chiral supercharges. They lead to new quantum superspaces, obtained by the superextension of twist deformations of spacetime providing Lie-algebraic noncommutativity of space-time coordinates. In the Hopf-algebraic Euclidean SUSY framework the considered supertwist deformations provide an alternative to the N=1/2 SUSY Seiberg's star product deformation scheme.

Bicrossproduct construction versus Weyl-Heisenberg algebra

We are focused on detailed analysis of the Weyl-Heisenberg algebra in the framework of bicrossproduct construction. We argue that however it is not possible to introduce full bialgebra structure in this case, it is possible to introduce non-counital bialgebra counterpart of this construction. Some remarks concerning bicrossproduct basis for kappa-Poincare Hopf algebra are also presented.

Cosmic acceleration from modified gravity with Palatini formalism

We study new FRW type cosmological models of modified gravity treated on the background of Palatini approach. These models are generalization of Einstein gravity by the presence of a scalar field non-minimally coupled to the curvature. The models employ Starobinsky's term in the Lagrangian and dust matter. Therefore, as a by-product, an exhausted cosmological analysis of general relativity amended by quadratic term is presented. We investigate dynamics of our models, confront them with the currently available astrophysical data as well as against LCDM model. We have used the dynamical system methods in order to investigate dynamics of the models. It reveals the presence of a final sudden singularity. Fitting free parameters we have demonstrated by statistical analysis that this class of models is in a very good agreement with the data (including CMB measurements) as well as with the standard LCDM model predictions. One has to use statefinder diagnostic in order to discriminate among them. Therefore Bayesian methods of model selection have been employed in order to indicate preferred model. Only in the light of CMB data the concordance model remains invincible.

Constraints on the quantum gravity scale from kappa - Minkowski spacetime

We compare two versions of deformed dispersion relations (energy vs momenta and momenta vs energy) and the corresponding time delay up to the second order accuracy in the quantum gravity scale (deformation parameter). A general framework describing modified dispersion relations and time delay with respect to different noncommutative kappa -Minkowski spacetime realizations is firstly proposed here and it covers all the cases introduced in the literature. It is shown that some of the realizations provide certain bounds on quadratic corrections, i.e. on quantum gravity scale, but it is not excluded in our framework that quantum gravity scale is the Planck scale. We also show how the coefficients in the dispersion relations can be obtained through a multiparameter fit of the gamma ray burst (GRB) data.

Conformal Hamiltonian Dynamics of General Relativity

The General Relativity formulated with the aid of the spin connection coefficients is considered in the finite space geometry of similarity with the Dirac scalar dilaton. We show that the redshift evolution of the General Relativity describes the vacuum creation of the matter in the empty Universe at the electroweak epoch and the dilaton vacuum energy plays a role of the dark energy.

Classical basis for kappa-Poincare algebra and doubly special relativity theories

Several issues concerning quantum kappa-Poincare algebra are discussed and reconsidered here. We propose two different formulations of kappa-Poincare quantum algebra. Firstly we present a complete Hopf algebra formulae of kappa-Poincare in classical Poincare basis. Further by adding one extra generator, which modifies the classical structure of Poincare algebra, we eliminate non polynomial functions in the kappa-parameter. Hilbert space representations of such algebras make Doubly Special Relativity (DSR) similar to the Stueckelberg's version of (proper-time) relativistic Quantum Mechanics.

Is it possible to estimate the Higgs Mass from the CMB Power Spectrum?

General Relativity and Standard Model are considered as a theory of dynamical scale symmetry with definite initial data compatible with the accepted Higgs mechanism. In this theory the Early Universe behaves like a factory of electroweak bosons and Higgs scalars, and it gives a possibility to identify three peaks in the Cosmic Microwave Background power spectrum with the contributions of photonic decays and annihilation processes of primordial Higgs, W, and Z bosons in agreement with the QED coupling constant, Weinberg's angle, and Higgs' particle mass of about 118 GeV.
