Hopf modules and their duals

Free Hopf modules and bimodules over a bialgebra are studied with some details. In particular, we investigate a duality in the category of bimodules in this context. This gives the correspondence between Woronowicz's quantum Lie algebra and algebraic vector fields.

Some Topics in coalgebra calculus

We study a coderivation from a cobimodule into a coalgebra. Vector cofields are defined by the action of a codual bicomodule on a coalgebra. This action is induced by a codifferential. A construction of a codual object in the category of bicomodules over a given coalgebra has been proposed. Various notions of duality have been analysed in this context.

On crossed product of algebras

The concept of a crossed tensor product of algebras is studied from a few points of views. Some related constructions are considered. Crossed enveloping algebras and their representations are discussed. Applications to the noncommutative geometry and particle systems with generalized statistics are indicated.

Anti-Kaehlerian Manifolds

An anti-Kaehlerian manifold is a complex manifold with an anti-Hermitian metric and a parallel almost complex structure. It is shown that a metric on such a manifold must be the real part of a holomorphic metric. It is proved that all odd Chern numbers of an anti-Kaehlerian manifold vanish and that complex parallelisable manifolds (in particular the factor space G/D of a complex Lie group G over the discrete subgroup D) are anti-Kaehlerian manifolds. A method of generating new solutions of Einstein equations by using the theory of anti-Kaehlerian manifolds is presented.

Lagrangian Symmetries of Chern-Simons Theories

This paper analyses the Noether symmetries and the corresponding conservation laws for Chern-Simons Lagrangians in dimension $d=3$. In particular, we find an expression for the superpotential of Chern-Simons gravity. As a by-product the general discussion of superpotentials for 3rd order natural and quasi-natural theories is also given.

Alternative Lagrangians for Einstein Metrics

We shall use the variational decomposition technique in order to calculate equations of motion and Noether energy-momentum complex for some classes of non-linear gravitational Lagrangians within the first-order (Palatini) formalism. In particular, a complex space-time appears as a solution of our variational problem.

Almost Complex and Almost Product Einstein Manifolds from a Variational Principle

It is shown that the first order (Palatini) variational principle for a generic nonlinear metric-affine Lagrangian depending on the (symmetrized) Ricci square invariant leads to an almost-product Einstein structure or to an almost-complex anti-Hermitian Einstein structure on a manifold. It is proved that a real anti-Hermitian metric on a complex manifold satisfies the Kähler condition on the same manifold treated as a real manifold if and only if the metric is the real part of a holomorphic metric. A characterisation of anti-Kähler Einstein manifolds and almost-product Einstein manifolds is obtained. Examples of such manifolds are considered.

Universality of Einstein Equations for the Ricci Squared Lagrangians

It has been recently shown that, in the first order (Palatini) formalism, there is universality of Einstein equations and Komar energy-momentum complex, in the sense that for a generic nonlinear Lagrangian depending only on the scalar curvature of a metric and a torsionless connection one always gets Einstein equations and Komar's expression for the energy-momentum complex. In this paper a similar analysis (also in the framework of the first order formalism) is performed for all nonlinear Lagrangians depending on the (symmetrized) Ricci square invariant. The main result is that the universality of Einstein equations and Komar energy-momentum complex also extends to this case (modulo a conformal transformation of the metric).

Cartan Pairs

A new notion of Cartan pairs as a substitute of notion of vector fields in noncommutative geometry is proposed. The correspondence between Cartan pairs and differential calculi is established.

First Order Calculi with Values in Right--Universal Bimodules

The purpose of this note is to show how calculi on unital associative algebra with universal right bimodule generalize previously studied constructions by Pusz and Woronowicz [1989] and by Wess and Zumino [1990] and that in this language results are in a natural context, are easier to describe and handle. As a by--product we obtained intrinsic, coordinate--free and basis--independent generalization of the first order noncommutative differential calculi with partial derivatives.

First Order Optimum Calculi

A new notion of an optimum first order calculi was introduced in [Borowiec, Kharchenko and Oziewicz, 1993]. A module of vector fields for a coordinate differential is defined. Some examples of optimal algebras for homogeneous bimodule commutations are presented. Classification theorem for homogeneous calculi with commutative optimal algebras in two variables is proved.

Coordinate Calculi on Associative Algebras

A new notion of an optimal algebra for a first order coordinate differential was introduced in \cite{BKO}. Some relevant examples are indicated. Quadratic identities in the optimal algebras and calculi on quadratic algebras are studied. Canonical construction of a quantum de Rham complex for the coordinate differential is proposed. The relations between calculi and various generalizations of the Yang--Baxter equation are established.

On free differentials on associative algebras

A free differential for an arbitrary associative algebra is defined as a differential with a uniqueness property. The existence problem for such a differential is posed. The notion of optimal calculi for given commutation rules is introduced and an explicit construction of it for a homogenous case is provided. Some examples are presented.
