Effective Geometry and Position-Dependent Mass in Dual-$q$ Quantum Mechanics

This work investigates the deformed-derivative formalism introduced by Borges, with emphasis on the relation between the linear operator $D_{(q)}$ and its nonlinear dual counterpart $D^{(q)}$. Directly inserting the dual derivative into the kinetic term leads to a nonlinear Schrödinger equation and obscures the usual interpretation of superposition and probability. We show that this nonlinearity can be removed by a simultaneous transformation of the coordinate and of the wave function. The transformed problem is an ordinary linear Schrödinger equation in a deformed coordinate, and its representation in the physical coordinate is equivalent to a Hermitian position-dependent-mass (PDM) Hamiltonian. In this formulation, the deformation parameter $q$ determines both the effective mass profile and the associated metric. The formalism is applied to the free particle, the infinite square well, the rectangular barrier, and the harmonic oscillator in the weak-deformation regime. Comparison with the nonadditive-translation approach of Costa Filho \emph{et al.} shows that the Borges dual-$q$ framework provides an alternative route to the same effective geometric structure. For $q<1$, the effective confinement length is reduced, which raises the bound-state spectrum and enhances tunneling; for $q>1$, the effective length is increased, which lowers the spectrum and suppresses tunneling relative to the undeformed limit $q=1$.

The Deformed Dirac Oscillator in Linear-Fractional Doubly Special Relativity

We study the $(1+1)$-dimensional Dirac oscillator within a class of doubly special relativity (DSR) models generated by linear-fractional (projective) transformations on momentum space that preserve both the invariant speed of light and a high-energy observer-independent scale $\Ep$. Starting from the associated deformed Casimir invariants, we construct the coordinate-space Dirac equations for three inequivalent choices of the deformation vector (time-like, space-like, and light-like). For the time-like and light-like realizations the deformation induces momentum-dependent effective mass operators, which makes the coordinate-space formulation sensitive to operator ordering. To retain locality and obtain solvable second-order equations we adopt a reverted-product ordering prescription. Closed-form relativistic energy spectra and eigenfunctions are obtained in all three geometries, and the standard Dirac-oscillator results are recovered smoothly in the limit $\Ep\to\infty$. Finally, we derive the nonrelativistic expansion of the positive-energy branch and show that the deformation geometry controls the leading rest-energy shift and the renormalization of the oscillator level spacing.

Feshbach-Villars Hamiltonian Approach to the Klein-Gordon Oscillator and Supercritical Step Scattering in Standard and Generalized Doubly Special Relativity

We develop a first-order Feshbach-Villars (FV) Hamiltonian framework for spin-0 relativistic quantum dynamics in the presence of Planck-scale kinematic deformations described within generalized doubly special relativity (G-DSR). Starting from a generic nonlinear momentum-space map, we derive the corresponding modified dispersion relation (MDR) at leading order in the Planck length \(l_p\) and construct a consistent FV linearization of the deformed Klein-Gordon operator. The resulting two-component Hamiltonian remains \(σ_3\)-pseudo-Hermitian at \(\mathcal{O}(l_p)\), which guarantees conservation of the FV charge and current and provides a current-based definition of reflection and transmission in stationary scattering. As applications, we study two benchmark settings in which the FV metric structure is essential: (i) the one-dimensional Klein-Gordon oscillator and (ii) scattering from electrostatic step and barrier potentials. For the oscillator, we obtain controlled \(\mathcal{O}(l_p)\) branch-resolved spectral shifts and show how kinetic versus mass-shell deformations reshape the level spacing and the high-energy spectral compression. For step and barrier scattering, we compute reflection and transmission coefficients directly from the pseudo-Hermitian FV current and quantify the deformation-induced shift of the supercritical (pair-production) threshold. A comparative analysis of the Amelino-Camelia and Magueijo-Smolin realizations indicates that MS-type deformations generally delay the onset of the supercritical regime and reduce the magnitude of the negative transmitted flux within the validity domain \(l_p E \ll 1\).

Investigation of density of states and charge carrier mobility in amorphous semiconductors via time-of-flight photocurrent analysis

The present study examines the electronic transport characteristics of amorphous semiconductors through TOF measurements and numerical simulations. The primary objective is to determine the DOS in amorphous selenium (a-Se) and to assess the temperature and electric field dependence of the hole mobility. A comprehensive investigation of localized states within the mobility gap is performed using Laplace transform analysis of ToF photocurrent transients, combined with the multiple trapping model. This approach enables accurate reconstruction of the DOS across a wide temperature range, allowing clear identification of shallow and deep trap levels and revealing thermally activated transport mechanisms. Simulated ToF currents are also used to evaluate the hole drift mobility under various thermal and field conditions. Activation energies are extracted from Arrhenius plots of the mobility data. The results support a physically consistent description of the electronic structure in a-Se and validate the applicability of Laplace-based techniques for probing charge transport in disordered semiconductors.

Exact Solutions for the Kemmer Oscillator in 1+1 Rindler Coordinates

This work presents exact solutions of the Kemmer equation for spin-1 particles in $(1+1)$-dimensional Rindler spacetime, motivated by the need to understand vector bosons under uniform acceleration, including non-inertial effects and the Unruh temperature, which distinguish them from spin-0 and spin-1/2 systems. Starting from the free Kemmer field in an accelerated reference frame, we establish eigenvalue equations resembling those of the Klein--Gordon equation in Rindler coordinates. By introducing the Dirac oscillator interaction through a momentum substitution, we derive an exact closed-form spectrum for the Kemmer oscillator, revealing how the acceleration parameter modifies the characteristic length, shifts the discrete energy spectrum, and lifts degeneracies. In the Minkowski limit $a\to 0$, the standard Kemmer oscillator spectrum is recovered, ensuring consistency with flat-spacetime results. These findings provide a tractable framework for analyzing acceleration-induced effects, with implications for quantum field theory in curved spacetime, quantum gravity, and analogue gravity platforms.

Analytical Solution of the PDM-Coulombic Klein-Gordon Oscillator in Kaluza-Klein Theory

In this contribution, the relativistic quantum motions of the position-dependent mass (PDM) oscillator field with a scalar potential in the context of the Kaluza-Klein theory is investigated. Through a purely analytical analysis, the eigensolutions of this system have been obtained. The results showed that the KGO is influenced not only by curvature, torsion and the quantum flux associated with the extra dimension, but also by the possibility of modifying the mass term of the Klein-Gordon equation.
