Division Algebras, Triality, and Exceptional Magic

We describe in explicit detail the rich relationship between division algebras, split composition algebras, triality, Clifford algebras, spinors, triality Lie algebras, generalized reflections, exceptional magic square Lie algebras, triality eigenspaces, 3-symmetric spaces, Vinberg theta algebras, and Exceptional Unification in particle physics.

C, P, T, and Triality

Discrete charge, parity, and time symmetries (C, P, and T) of quantized fermion states are extended by a triality symmetry (t), producing the CPTt Group, transforming between three generations of fermions.

Unification of gravity, gauge fields, and Higgs bosons

We consider a diffeomorphism invariant theory of a gauge field valued in a Lie algebra that breaks spontaneously to the direct sum of the spacetime Lorentz algebra, a Yang-Mills algebra, and their complement. Beginning with a fully gauge invariant action -- an extension of the Plebanski action for general relativity -- we recover the action for gravity, Yang-Mills, and Higgs fields. The low-energy coupling constants, obtained after symmetry breaking, are all functions of the single parameter present in the initial action and the vacuum expectation value of the Higgs.

An Explicit Embedding of Gravity and the Standard Model in E8

The algebraic elements of gravitational and Standard Model gauge fields acting on a generation of fermions may be represented using real matrices. These elements match a subalgebra of spin(11,3) acting on a Majorana-Weyl spinor, consistent with GraviGUT unification. This entire structure embeds in the quaternionic real form of the largest exceptional Lie algebra, E8. These embeddings are presented explicitly and their implications discussed.

An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything

All fields of the standard model and gravity are unified as an E8 principal bundle connection. A non-compact real form of the E8 Lie algebra has G2 and F4 subalgebras which break down to strong su(3), electroweak su(2) x u(1), gravitational so(3,1), the frame-Higgs, and three generations of fermions related by triality. The interactions and dynamics of these 1-form and Grassmann valued parts of an E8 superconnection are described by the curvature and action over a four dimensional base manifold.

Quantum mechanics from a universal action reservoir

A heuristic derivation of quantum mechanics using information theory requires a foundational physical principle: the existence of a universal action reservoir, analogous to the energy reservoir of a canonical ensemble.

Clifford Geometrodynamics

Classical anti-commuting spinor fields and their dynamics are derived from the geometry of the Clifford bundle over spacetime via the BRST formulation. In conjunction with Kaluza-Klein theory, this results in a geometric description of all the fields and dynamics of the standard model coupled to gravity and provides the starting point for a new approach to quantum gravity.

It's all in GR: spinors, time, and gauge symmetry

This paper shows how to obtain the spinor field and dynamics from the vielbein and geometry of General Relativity. The spinor field is physically realized as an orthogonal transformation of the vielbein, and the spinor action enters as the requirement that the unit time form be the gradient of a scalar time field.

A Solution of the Maxwell-Dirac Equations in 3+1 Dimensions

We investigate a class of localized, stationary, particular numerical solutions to the Maxwell-Dirac system of classical nonlinear field equations. The solutions are discrete energy eigenstates bound predominantly by the self-produced electric field.
