Hybrid calculation of hadronic vacuum polarization in muon g-2 to 0.48\%

We present a new lattice QCD calculation of the leading order hadronic vacuum polarization (LO-HVP) contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment $a_\mu$. We reduce uncertainties compared to our earlier computation arXiv:2002.12347 by a factor of 1.6. We perform simulations on finer lattices allowing for an even more accurate continuum extrapolation. We also include a small, long-distance contribution obtained using input from experiments in a low-energy regime where they all agree. Combined with other standard model contributions our result, $a_\mu^{LO-HVP}=715.1(2.5)(2.3)[3.4] \times 10^{-10}$, leads to a prediction that differs from the recent measurement of $a_\mu$ by only 0.5 standard deviations. This provides a remarkable validation of the standard model to 11 digits.

The NIKA2 instrument at 30-m IRAM telescope: performance and results

The New IRAM KID Arrays 2 (NIKA2) consortium has just finished installing and commissioning a millimetre camera on the IRAM 30 m telescope. It is a dual-band camera operating with three frequency multiplexed kilo-pixels arrays of Lumped Element Kinetic Inductance Detectors (LEKID) cooled at 150 mK, designed to observe the intensity and polarisation of the sky at 260 and 150 GHz (1.15 and 2 mm). NIKA2 is today an IRAM resident instrument for millimetre astronomy, such as Intra Cluster Medium from intermediate to distant clusters and so for the follow-up of Planck satellite detected clusters, high redshift sources and quasars, early stages of star formation and nearby galaxies emission. We present an overview of the instrument performance as it has been evaluated at the end of the commissioning phase.

The b-quark mass from non-perturbative $N_f=2$ Heavy Quark Effective Theory at $O(1/m_h)$

We report our final estimate of the b-quark mass from $N_f=2$ lattice QCD simulations using Heavy Quark Effective Theory non-perturbatively matched to QCD at $O(1/m_h)$. Treating systematic and statistical errors in a conservative manner, we obtain $\overline{m}_{\rm b}^{\overline{\rm MS}}(2 {\rm GeV})=4.88(15)$ GeV after an extrapolation to the physical point.

B decays to radially excited D

We discuss the possibility to measure in present experiments, especially LHCb, the non leptonic decay branching ratio $B \to D' π$, and emphasize phenomenological implications on $B \to D' l ν$ semileptonic decay. We have estimated by lattice QCD the $D'$ decay constant $f_{D'}$ that parameterizes the $D'$ emission contribution to the Class-III non leptonic decay $B^- \to D^0 π^-$. In addition, we provide a new estimate of the decay constants $f_{D_{s,q}}$ which read $f_{D_{s}}=252(3)$ MeV and $f_{D_{s}}/f_{D}=1.23(1)(1)$.

B-physics with $N_f=2$ Wilson fermions

We report the final results of the ALPHA collaboration for some B-physics observables: $f_B$, $f_{B_s}$ and $m_b$. We employ CLS configurations with 2 flavors of $O(a)$ improved Wilson fermions in the sea and pion masses ranging down to 190 MeV. The b-quark is treated in HQET to order $1/m_b$. The renormalization, the matching and the improvement were performed non-perturbatively, and three lattice spacings reaching $a=0.048$ fm are used in the continuum extrapolation.
