On Instantons in Gross-Neveu and Gross-Neveu-Yukawa models

We study fermionic instantons of the Gross-Neveu and the Gross-Neveu-Yukawa models. We derive solutions for both models and examine the corresponding actions at the fixed points. We further map the solutions on to the sphere and discuss the relation to the Hubbard-Stratonovich approach. Close to the fixed points we compare and identify the results with those obtained in the large $N$ computation.

Dynamical supersymmetry breaking in large $N_c$ supersymmetric QCD

We study dynamical supersymmetry breaking in supersymmetric QCD theories for $N_f<N_c$. We consider a model with a singlet chiral superfield coupled to the infrared meson chiral superfield through a classical superpotential. We examine the vacuum structure of this model and show that in a particular limit of the parameter space with the large $N_c$ limit, it has a vacuum that dynamically breaks supersymmetry. The supersymmetric vacuum, in this limit, is being pushed to infinity.

Dual Instantons in Anti-membranes Theory

We introduce two ansatzs for the 3-form potential of Euclidean 11d supergravity on skew-whiffed AdS_4 X S^7 background which results in two scalar modes with m^2=-2 on AdS_4. Being conformally coupled with a quartic interaction it is possible to find the exact solutions of the scalar equation on this background. These modes turn out to be invariant under SU(4) subgroup of SO(8) isometry group, whereas there are no corresponding SU(4) singlet BPS operators of dimensions one or two on the boundary ABJM theory. Noticing the interchange of 8_s and 8_c representations under skew-whiffing in the bulk, we propose the theory of anti-membranes should similarly be obtained from ABJM theory by swapping these representations. In particular, this enables us to identify the dual boundary operators of the two scalar modes. We deform the boundary theory by the dual operators and examine the fermionic field equations and compare the solutions of the deformed theory with those of the bulk.

Dirac Operator on Fuzzy AdS_2

In this article we construct the chirality and Dirac operators on noncommutative AdS_2. We also derive the discrete spectrum of the Dirac operator which is important in the study of the spectral triple associated with AdS_2. It is shown that the degeneracy of the spectrum present in the commutative AdS_2 is lifted in the noncommutative case. The way we construct the chirality operator is suggestive of how to introduce the projector operators of the corresponding projective modules on this space.

Topological DBI actions and nonlinear instantons

We consider Euclidean D4 and D6-branes filling the whole ${\bf R}^4$ and ${\bf R}^6$ space, respectively. In both cases, with a constant background B-field turned on for D4-branes, we propose actions which are the same as the DBI actions up to some constant or total derivative terms. These extra terms allow us to write the action as a square of nonlinear instanton equations. As such, the actions can easily be supersymmetrized using the methods of topological field theory.

On supermembrane actions on Calabi-Yau 3-folds

In this note we examine the supermembrane action on Calabi-Yau 3-folds. We write down the Dirac-Born-Infeld part of the action, and show that it is invariant under the rigid spacetime supersymmetry.

A 3d topological sigma model and D-branes

A 3d topological sigma model describing maps from a 3-manifold Y to a Calabi-Yau 3-fold M is introduced. As the model is topological, we can choose an arbitrary metric on M. Upon scaling up the metric, the path integral by construction localizes on the moduli space of special Lagrangian submanifolds of M. We couple the theory to dynamical gauge fields and discuss the case where M has a mirror and the gauge group is U(1).

N = 4 SYM on Σ\times S^2 and its Topological Reduction

We consider the twisted N = 4 SYM on Σ\times S^2. In the limit that S^2 shrinks to zero size the four dimensional theory reduces to a two dimensional SYM theory. We compute the correlation functions of a set of BRST cohomology classes in the reduced theory perturbed by mass.

Supersymmetry and gauge theory on Calabi-Yau 3-folds

We consider the dimensional reduction of supersymmetric Yang-Mills on a Calabi-Yau 3-fold. We show by construction how the resulting cohomological theory is related to the balanced field theory of the Kaehler Yang-Mills equations introduced by Donaldson and Uhlenbeck-Yau.
