Automata system in finitelly generated groups

We prove that any finite system of interacted automata can not leave some finite arear of Calley graph of periodic group. If group has non-periodic element, then its Calley graph can be explored by some finite automata with 3 pebbles. If group is finitely generated and aperiodic then it can not be explored by any system of finite automata.

Group-like small cancellation theory for rings

In the present paper we develop a small cancellation theory for associative algebras with a basis of invertible elements. Namely, we study quotients of a group algebra of a free group and introduce three axioms for the corresponding defining relations. We show that the obtained ring is non-trivial. Moreover, we show that this ring enjoys a global filtration that agrees with relations, find a basis of the ring as a vector space and establish the corresponding structure theorems. We also provide a revision of a concept of Gröbner basis for our rings and establish a greedy algorithm for the Ideal Membership Problem.

Small cancelation rings

The theory of small cancellation groups is well known. In this paper we introduce the notion of Group-like Small Cancellation Ring. This is the main result of the paper. We define this ring axiomatically, by generators and defining relations. The relations must satisfy three types of axioms. The major one among them is called the Small Cancellation Axiom. We show that the obtained ring is non-trivial. Moreover, we show that this ring enjoys a global filtration that agrees with relations, find a basis of the ring as a vector space and establish the corresponding structure theorems. It turns out that the defined ring possesses a kind of Gröbner basis and a greedy algorithm. Finally, this ring can be used as a first step towards the iterated small cancellation theory which hopefully plays a similar role in constructing examples of rings with exotic properties as small cancellation groups do in group theory. This is a short version of paper arXiv:2010.02836

Estimation of the distance between two bodies inside an $n$-dimensional ball of unit volume

We consider the problem of estimating the distance between two bodies of volume $\varepsilon$ located inside a $n$-dimensional ball $U$ of unit volume for $n\to\infty$. Let $A$ be a closed set with a smooth boundary of the volume $\varepsilon$ ($0 \leq \varepsilon \leq 1/2$) inside a $n$-dimensional ball $U$ of unit volume that implements among all the sets of volume $\varepsilon$ is a set with the smallest possible free surface area, lying in one half-space with respect to a certain hyperplane that passes through the center of the ball. Then $A$ has the same free surface area as the set representing the intersection of a ball perpendicular to $U$ and the ball $U$ itself.

Elements of mathematics in problems. Through olympiads and circles to profession

This is a collection of teaching materials used in several Russian universities, schools, and mathematical circles. Most problems are chosen in such a way that in the course of the solution and discussion a reader learns important mathematical ideas and theories. The materials can be used by pupils and students for self-study, and by teachers. This is an abridged pre-copyedit version of the published book submitted with the permission of the publisher. Each included individual material is self-contained and ready-for-use. Solutions to problems are not included intentionally. This collection consolidates updates of several arXiv submissions, e.g., arXiv:1305.2598.

Construction of a quotient ring of $\mathbb{Z}_2\mathcal{F}$ in which a binomial $1 + w$ is invertible using small cancellation methods

We apply small cancellation methods originating from group theory to investigate the structure of a quotient ring $\mathbb{Z}_2\mathcal{F} / \mathcal{I}$, where $\mathbb{Z}_2\mathcal{F}$ is the group algebra of the free group $\mathcal{F}$ over the field $\mathbb{Z}_2$, and the ideal $\mathcal{I}$ is generated by a single trinomial $1 + v + vw$, where $v$ is a complicated word depending on $w$. In $\mathbb{Z}_2\mathcal{F} / \mathcal{I}$ we have $(1 + w)^{-1} = v$, so $1 + w$ becomes invertible. We construct an explicit linear basis of $\mathbb{Z}_2\mathcal{F} / \mathcal{I}$ (thus showing that $\mathbb{Z}_2\mathcal{F} / \mathcal{I}\neq 0$). This is the first step in constructing rings with exotic properties.

On the tame authomorphism approximation, augmentation Topology of Automorphism Groups and $Ind$-schemes, and authomorphisms of tame automorphism groups

We study authomorphisms of $Ind$-groups of polynomial automorphisms (wich are singular) via tame approximations. Such objects were pioneeered in research by B.I.Plotkin We obtain a number of properties of $Aut(Aut(A))$, where $A$ is the polynomial or free associative algebra over the base field $K$. We prove that all $Ind$-scheme automorphisms of $Aut(K[x_1,\dots,x_n])$ are inner for $n\ge 3$, and all $Ind$-scheme automorphisms of $Aut(K\langle x_1,\dots, x_n\rangle)$ are semi-inner. As an application, we prove that $Aut(K[x_1,\dots,x_n])$ cannot be embedded into $Aut(K\langle x_1,\dots,x_n\rangle)$ by the natural abelianization. In other words, the {\it Automorphism Group Lifting Problem} has a negative solution. We explore close connection between the above results and the Jacobian conjecture type questions, formulate the Jacobian conjecture for fields of any characteristic.

Trisecant Lemma for Non Equidimensional Varieties

The classic trisecant lemma states that if $X$ is an integral curve of $\PP^3$ then the variety of trisecants has dimension one, unless the curve is planar and has degree at least 3, in which case the variety of trisecants has dimension 2. In this paper, our purpose is first to present another derivation of this result and then to introduce a generalization to non-equidimensional varities. For the sake of clarity, we shall reformulate our first problem as follows. Let $Z$ be an equidimensional variety (maybe singular and/or reducible) of dimension $n$, other than a linear space, embedded into $\PP^r$, $r \geq n+1$. The variety of trisecant lines of $Z$, say $V_{1,3}(Z)$, has dimension strictly less than $2n$, unless $Z$ is included in a $(n+1)-$dimensional linear space and has degree at least 3, in which case $\dim(V_{1,3}(Z)) = 2n$. Then we inquire the more general case, where $Z$ is not required to be equidimensional. In that case, let $Z$ be a possibly singular variety of dimension $n$, that may be neither irreducible nor equidimensional, embedded into $\PP^r$, where $r \geq n+1$, and $Y$ a proper subvariety of dimension $k \geq 1$. Consider now $S$ being a component of maximal dimension of the closure of $\{l \in \G(1,r) \vtl \exists p \in Y, q_1, q_2 \in Z \backslash Y, q_1,q_2,p \in l\}$. We show that $S$ has dimension strictly less than $n+k$, unless the union of lines in $S$ has dimension $n+1$, in which case $dim(S) = n+k$. In the latter case, if the dimension of the space is stricly greater then $n+1$, the union of lines in $S$ cannot cover the whole space. This is the main result of our work. We also introduce some examples showing than our bound is strict.

Automorphisms of the semigroup of endomorphisms of free associative algebras

Let $A=A(x_{1},...,x_{n})$ be a free associative algebra in $\mathcal{A}$ freely generated over $K$ by a set $X=\{x_{1},...,x_{n}\}$, $End A$ be the semigroup of endomorphisms of $A$, and $Aut End A$ be the group of automorphisms of the semigroup $End A$. We investigate the structure of the groups $Aut End A$ and $Aut \mathcal{A}^{\circ}$, where $\mathcal{A}^{\circ}$ is the category of finitely generated free algebras from $\mathcal{A}$. We prove that the group $Aut End A$ is generated by semi-inner and mirror automorphisms of $End F$ and the group $Aut \mathcal{A}^{\circ}$ is generated by semi-inner and mirror automorphisms of the category $\mathcal{A}^{\circ}$. This result solves an open Problem formulated in \cite{22}
