Classical tests of New General Relativity

In New General Relativity (NGR), the static spherically symmetric vacuum solution is characterized by two parameters, unlike General Relativity (GR), where the Schwarzschild solution has only one parameter. In this work, using the five classical tests of relativistic gravity (perihelion precession, light bending, Shapiro time delay and de Sitter geodetic precession effect, as well as gravitational redshift), a more stringent constraint on the value of the second parameter was derived compared to the original work [1].

Weak Gravity Limit in Newer General Relativity

We analyse linearised field equations around the Minkowski metric with its standard flat parallel transport in models of Newer GR, that is quadratic actions in terms of nonmetricity tensor. We show that half of the freedom in choosing the model parameters is immediately fixed by asking for reasonable properties of tensors and vectors, defined with respect to spatial rotations, and accurately describe the much more complicated sector of scalars. In particular, we show that, from the teleparallel viewpoint, the model of STEGR with addition of a gradient squared of the metric determinant exhibits three halves new dynamical modes, and not just one like it was previously claimed.

Conformal Transformations and Cosmological Perturbations in New General Relativity

We study conformal transformations in the most general parity-preserving models of the New General Relativity type. Then we apply them to analysis of cosmological perturbations in the (simplest) spatially flat cosmologies. Strong coupling issues around Minkowski spacetime are seen for many special cases of these models. At the same time, the behaviour of the most general three-parameter case seems to be very robust, presumably always with only the eight first-class constraints coming from diffeomorphisms. Also the case of the so-called 1-parameter New GR doesn't show any discontinuity between Minkowski and the cosmology, though without showing any deviations from GR which would be observable at this level either.

Gravitational Waves in New General Relativity

The models of New General Relativity have recently got attention of research community, and there are some works studying their dynamical properties. The formal aspects of this investigation have been mostly restricted to the primary constraints in the Hamiltonian analysis. However, it is by far not enough for counting their degrees of freedom or judging whether they are any good and viable. In this paper we study linearised equations in vacuum around the trivial Minkowski tetrad. By taking the approach of cosmological perturbation theory we show that the numbers of primary constraints are very easily seen without any need of genuine Hamiltonian techniques, and give the full count of linearised degrees of freedom in the weak field limit of each and every version of New General Relativity without matter.

Static spherically symmetric solutions in New General Relativity

We give a pedagogical introduction to static spherically symmetric solutions in models of New GR, both explaining the basics and showing how all such vacuum solutions can be obtained in elementary functions. In doing so, we coherently introduce the full landscape of these modified teleparallel spacetimes, and find a few special cases. The equations of motion are turned into a very nice and compact form by using the Levi-Civita divergence of the torsion-conjugate; and generalised Bianchi identities are briefly discussed. Another important point we make is that a convenient choice of the radial variable might be instrumental for success of similar studies in other modified gravity models.

Tidal properties of D-dimensional Tangherlini black holes

This paper investigates tidal forces in multidimensional spherically symmetric spacetimes. We consider geodesic deviation equation in Schwarzschild-Tangherlini metric and its electrically charged analog. It was shown that for radial geodesics these equations can be solved explicitly as quadratures in spaces of any dimension. In the case of five, six and seven dimensional spaces, these solutions can be represented in terms of elliptic integrals. For spacetimes of higher dimension, we find the asymptotics of the solution. It was found that in the physical singularity vicinity tidal stretch along the radial direction is the stronger the greater the dimension of space. Whereas the tidal compression in transverse to radial directions, starting from a certain dimension, does not change in the main order. Also in the case of non-radial geodesics, the presence of black hole electric charge does not affect the force of transverse compression in the leading order. For non-radial geodesics with non-zero angular momentum, the local properties of solutions of geodesic deviation equations in the vicinity of a singularity are studied.

Geodesic deviation on symmetry axis in Taub-NUT metric

An important aspect of General Relativity is to study properties of geodesics. A useful tool for describing geodesic behavior is the geodesic deviation equation. It allows to describe the tidal properties of gravitating objects through the curvature of spacetime. This article focuses on the study of the axially symmetric Taub-NUT metric. We study tidal effects in this metric using the geodesic deviation equation. Radial geodesics along the symmetry axis of spacetime are considered. We show that all spatial components of tidal forces always change sign under the event horizon. We find a solution of the geodesic deviation equation for all geodesic deviation vector components. It allows us to quantify the effect of the NUT-charge on the tidal properties of Taub-NUT metric. And another important feature that we found is the regular behavior of all tidal force components at all points of spacetime.

Tidal Forces in Kottler Spacetimes

The article considers tidal forces in the vicinity of the Kottler black hole. We find a solution of the geodesic deviation equation for radially falling bodies, which is determined by elliptic integrals. And also the asymptotic behavior of all spatial geodesic deviation vector components were found. We demonstrate that the radial component of the tidal force changes sign outside the single event horizon for any negative values of the cosmological constant, in contrast to the Schwarzschild black hole, where all the components of the tidal force are sign-constant. We also find the similarity between the Kottler black hole and the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole, because we indicate the value of the cosmological constant, which ensures the existence of two horizons of the black hole, between which the angular components of the tidal force change sign. It was possible to detect non-analytical behavior of geodesic deviation vector components in Anti-de Sitter spacetime and to describe it locally.

Deviation of nonradial geodesics in a static spherically symmetric space-time

The article generalizes the description of tidal forces to the case of geodesics with non-zero angular momentum in the metric of static spherically symmetric black holes. We show that the geodesic deviation equation can be diagonalized even with non-radial free motion of a test body in the gravitational field. We present expressions for the spatial components of the tidal force in a spherically symmetric metric. We also solve geodesic deviation equation in the Schwarzschild metric and demonstrate how the presence of angular momentum and its magnitude affect the solution.

New narrow LHCb pentaquarks as lowest antiquark-diquark-diquark systems

The antiquark-diquark-diquark model describes pentaquark states both in terms of quarks and hadrons. We discuss pentaquark states with hidden charm $P(\bar c cuud)$ discovered in the $J/Ψp$ spectrum by the LHCb collaboration. We consider three pentaquark states as members of the lowest ($S$-wave) multiplet and discuss the mass splitting scheme. The latest LHCb data for pentaquarks with hidden charm provide an opportunity to make an assumption about the diquark content of the pentaquark states. We give a classification for the LHCb pentaquarks and define recombination channels for these states.

Differential technique for the covariant orbital angular momentum operators

The orbital angular momentum operator expansion turns to be a powerful tool to construct the fully covariant partial wave amplitudes of hadron decay reactions and hadron photo- and electroproduction processes. In this paper we consider a useful development of the orbital angular momentum operator expansion method. We present the differential technique allowing the direct calculation of convolutions of two orbital angular momentum operators with an arbitrary number of open Lorentz indices. This differential technique greatly simplifies calculations when the reaction subject to the partial wave analysis involves high spin particles in the initial and/or final states. We also present a useful generalization of the orbital angular momentum operators.

Diquark-diquark-antiquark model for pentaquarks with hidden charm: current status and problems

The $J/ψp$ signals at 4380 MeV and 4450 MeV which were seen by the LHCb collaboration in the decay $Λ^0_b\to K^-J/ψp$ are discussed following the hypothesis of the existence of diquark-diquark-antiquark composite states. The discussed problems concern: (i) estimation of masses and mass splittings for low-lying states, (ii) determination of decay modes in the quark recombination scheme, (iii) unitarity and analyticity constrains for pentaquark propagators, (iv) hadronic deuteron-like components in the diquark-diquark-antiquark multiplet.

Narrow pentaquarks as diquark-diquark-antiquark systems

The diquark-diquark-antiquark model describes pentaquark states both in terms of quarks and hadrons. The latest LHCb data for pentaquarks with open charm emphasize the importance of hadron components in the structure of pentaquarks. We discuss pentaquark states with hidden charm $P(\bar c cuud)$ and those with open charm $P(\bar uussc)$ which were discovered recently in LHCb data ($J/Ψp$ and $Ξ_c^+ K^-$ spectra correspondingly). Considering the observed states as members of the lowest (s-wave) multiplet we discuss the mass splitting of states and the dumping of their widths.

Propagators of resonances and rescatterings of the decay products

Hadronic resonance propagators which take into account the analytical properties of decay processes are built in terms of the dispersion relation technique. Such propagators can describe multi-component systems, for example, those when quark degrees of freedom create a resonance state, and decay products correct the corresponding pole by adding hadronic deuteron-like components. Meson and baryon states are considered, examples of particles with different spins are presented.

Pentaquarks and strange tetraquark mesons

We consider the interplay of the pentaquark states and strange tetraquark states in the decay $Λ^0_b\to K^-J/ψp$. Possible existence of ($cs\bar c\bar u$)-states is taken up and their manifestation in the $K^-J/ψ$-channel is discussed. It is emphasised that these exotic mesons can imitate broad bumps in the in the $pJ/ψ$-channel.

Pentaquarks and resonances in the $pJ/ψ$ spectrum

We consider exotic baryons with hidden charm as antiquark-diquark-diquark composite systems. Spin and isospin structure of such exotic states is given and masses are estimated. The data for production of pentaquarks in the reaction $Λ_b\to K^-p J/ψ$ are discussed. We suggest that the narrow peak in $pJ/ψ$ spectra at 4450 MeV is antiquark-diquark-diquark state with negative parity, $5/2^{-}(4450)$, while the broad bump $3/2^{+}(4380)$ is the result of rescatterings in the ($pJ/ψ$)-channel. Positions of other pentaquarks with negative parity are estimated.

Exotic mesons with hidden charm as diquark-antidiquark states

Exotic mesons with hidden strange ($s\bar s$) and heavy quark pairs ($Q\bar Q$), where $Q=c,b$, are considered as diquark-antidiquark systems, $(Qs)(\bar Q\bar s)$. Taking into account that these states can recombinate into two-meson ones, we study the interplay of these states in terms of the dispersion relation D-function technique. The classification of exotic mesons is discussed, coefficients for decay modes are given, predictions for new states are presented. The nonet structure for $((Qq)(\bar Q \bar q)$, ($(Qs)(\bar Q\bar s$)), ($(Qq)(\bar Q\bar s))$- states ($q=u,d$) is suggested.
