On the classification of quantum symmetries

We show that, in order to classify Hopf algebra (co)actions on a given finite dimensional algebra up to equivalence, one should start with the classification of the possible cosupports (i.e. the sets of linear operators by which $H^*$ is acting) of Hopf algebra coactions and then consider dual Hopf algebra actions. As an application, we classify quantum symmetries of the set of two points and the algebra of dual numbers. In addition, we show that the straight line does not admit an (ungraded) universal coacting Manin Hopf algebra. Moreover, we prove that for $n\geqslant 14$ the full matrix algebra $M_n(\mathbb k)$ admits a nontrivial Hopf algebra coaction such that all Hopf algebra actions with the same restriction on the cosupport are trivial, i.e. the cosupport may reduce under the dualization and a finite dimensional algebra may have less equivalence classes of actions than coactions. Simultaneously, for any $n\geqslant 14$, we define an elementary grading on $M_n(\mathbb k)$ by an infinite group that cannot be regraded by any finite group. (The previously known lower bound was $n\geqslant 349$.)

Graded group actions and generalized $H$-actions compatible with gradings

We introduce the notion of a graded group action on a graded algebra or, which is the same, a group action by graded pseudoautomorphisms. An algebra with such an action is a natural generalization of an algebra with a super- or a pseudoinvolution. We study groups of graded pseudoautomorphisms, show that the Jacobson radical of a group graded finite dimensional associative algebra $A$ over a field of characteristic $0$ is stable under graded pseudoautomorphisms, prove the invariant version of the Wedderburn-Artin Theorem and the analog of Amitsur's conjecture for the codimension growth of graded polynomial $G$-identities in such algebras $A$ with a graded action of a group $G$.

On a general notion of a polynomial identity and codimensions

Using the braided version of Lawvere's algebraic theories and Mac Lane's PROPs, we introduce polynomial identities for arbitrary algebraic structures in a braided monoidal category C as well as their codimensions in the case when C is linear over some field. The new cases include coalgebras, bialgebras, Hopf algebras, braided vector spaces, Yetter-Drinfel'd modules, etc. We find bases for polynomial identities and calculate codimensions in some important particular cases.

Derivations, gradings, actions of algebraic groups, and codimension growth of polynomial identities

Suppose a finite dimensional semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ acts by derivations on a finite dimensional associative or Lie algebra $A$ over a field of characteristic $0$. We prove the $\mathfrak g$-invariant analogs of Wedderburn - Mal'cev and Levi theorems, and the analog of Amitsur's conjecture on asymptotic behavior for codimensions of polynomial identities with derivations of $A$. It turns out that for associative algebras the differential PI-exponent coincides with the ordinary one. Also we prove the analog of Amitsur's conjecture for finite dimensional associative algebras with an action of a reductive affine algebraic group by automorphisms and anti-automorphisms or graded by an arbitrary Abelian group. In addition, we provide criteria for $G$-, $H$- and graded simplicity in terms of codimensions.
