Gauge theory on a space with linear Lie type fuzziness

The U(1) gauge theory on a space with Lie type noncommutativity is constructed. The construction is based on the group of translation in Fourier space, which in contrast to space itself is commutative. In analogy with lattice gauge theory, the object playing the role of flux of field strength per plaquette, as well as the action, are constructed. It is observed that the theory, in comparison with ordinary U(1) gauge theory, has an extra gauge field component. This phenomena is reminiscent of similar ones in formulation of SU(N) gauge theory in space with canonical noncommutativity, and also appearance of gauge field component in discrete direction of Connes' construction of the Standard Model.

Relativistic frequency shifts in a rotating waveguide

A photon source is located in a rotating waveguide. An absorber with a sharp absorbing frequency absorbs some of the emitted photons. This decreases the number of photons which are detected by a detector. The frequency (energy) spectrum measured in the absorber depends on the setup (the positions of the source and the detector), and this spectrum determines the amount of absorption. The shifts are calculated for different configurations. Among other things, it is seen that even if the source and the absorber are at rest (while the waveguide is rotating), there is a nonzero frequency shift.

Dirac theory on a space with linear Lie type fuzziness

A spinor theory on a space with linear Lie type noncommutativity among spatial coordinates is presented. The model is based on the Fourier space corresponding to spatial coordinates, as this Fourier space is commutative. When the group is compact, the real space exhibits lattice characteristics (as the eigenvalues of space operators are discrete), and the similarity of such a \emph{lattice} with ordinary lattices is manifested, among other things, in a phenomenon resembling the famous \emph{fermion doubling} problem. A projection is introduced to make the dynamical number of spinors equal to that corresponding to the ordinary space. The actions for free and interacting spinors (with Fermi-like interactions) are presented. The Feynman rules are extracted and 1-loop corrections are investigated.

A Projective Interpretation of Some Doubly Special Relativity Theories

A class of projective actions of the orthogonal group on the projective space is being studied. It is shown that the Fock--Lorentz, and Magueijo--Smolin transformations known as Doubly Special Relativity are such transformations. The formalism easily lead to new type transformations.

Spin 0 and spin 1/2 quantum relativistic particles in a constant gravitational field

The Klein-Gordon and Dirac equations in a semi-infinite lab ($x > 0$), in the background metric $\ds^2 = u^2(x) (-\dt^2 + \dx^2) + \dy^2 + \dz^2$, are investigated. The resulting equations are studied for the special case $ u(x) = 1 + g x$. It is shown that in the case of zero transverse-momentum, the square of the energy eigenvalues of the spin-1/2 particles are less than the squares of the corresponding eigenvalues of spin-0 particles with same masses, by an amount of $mg\hbar c$. Finally, for nonzero transverse-momentum, the energy eigenvalues corresponding to large quantum numbers are obtained, and the results for spin-0 and spin-1/2 particles are compared to each other.

Berry phase for spin--1/2 particles moving in a spacetime with torsion

Berry phase for a spin--1/2 particle moving in a flat spacetime with torsion is investigated in the context of the Einstein-Cartan-Dirac model. It is shown that if the torsion is due to a dense polarized background, then there is a Berry phase only if the fermion is massless and its momentum is perpendicular to the direction of the background polarization. The order of magnitude of this Berry phase is discussed in other theoretical frameworks.

Multispecies reaction-diffusion systems

Multispecies reaction-diffusion systems, for which the time evolution equation of correlation functions become a closed set, are considered. A formal solution for the average densities is found. Some special interactions and the exact time dependence of the average densities in these cases are also studied. For the general case, the large time behaviour of the average densities has also been obtained.

Equivalence principle and radiation by a uniformly accelerated charged particle

We address the old question of whether or not a uniformly accelerated charged particle radiates, and consequently, if weak equivalence principle is violated by electrodynamics. We show that radiation has different meanings; some absolute, some relative. Detecting photons or electromagnetic waves is NOT absolute, it depends both on the electromagnetic field and on the state of motion of the antenna. An antenna used by a Rindler observer does not detect any radiation from a uniformly accelerated co-moving charged particle. Therefore, a Rindler observer cannot decide whether or not he is in an accelerated lab or in a gravitational field. We also discuss the general case.

Neutrino oscillation in a space-time with torsion

Using the Einstein-Cartan-Dirac theory, we study the effect of torsion on neutrino oscillation. We see that torsion cannot induce neutrino oscillation, but affects it whenever oscillation exists for other reasons. We show that the torsion effect on neutrino oscillation is as important as the neutrino mass effect, whenever the ratio of neutrino number density to neutrino energy is $\sim 10^{69}$ cm$^{-3}$ /eV, or the number density of the matter is $\sim 10^{69}$ cm$^{-3}$.

Toda theories as contraction of affine Toda theories

Using a contraction procedure, we obtain Toda theories and their structures, from affine Toda theories and their corresponding structures. By structures, we mean the equation of motion, the classical Lax pair, the boundary term for half line theories, and the quantum transfer matrix. The Lax pair and the transfer matrix so obtained, depend nontrivially on the spectral parameter.

The universal R-matrix for the Jordanian deformation of sl(2), and the contracted forms of so(4)

We introduce a universal R matrix for the Jordanian deformation of $\U{ \sl(2)}$. Using $\Uh{\so(4)}=\Uh{\sl(2)} \oplus {\rm U}_{-h}(\sl(2))$, we obtain the universal R matrix for $\Uh{\so(4)}$. Applying the graded contractions on the universal R matrix of $\Uh{\so(4)}$, we show that there exist three distinct R matrices for all of the contracted algebras. It is shown that $\Uh{\sl(2)}$, $\Uh{\so(4)}$, and all of these contracted algebras are triangular.

A Triangular Deformation of the two Dimensional Poincare Algebra

Contracting the $h$-deformation of $\SL(2,\Real)$, we construct a new deformation of two dimensional Poincaré algebra, the algebra of functions on its group and its differential structure. It is also shown that the Hopf algebra is triangular, and its universal R matrix is also constructed explicitly. Then, we find a deformation map for the universal enveloping algebra, and at the end, give the deformed mass shells and Lorentz transformation.

$h$-Deformation as a Contraction of $q$-Deformation

We show that $h$-deformation can be obtained, by a singular limit of a similarity transformation, from $q$-deformation; to be specefic, we obtain $\GL_h(2)$, its differential structure, its inhomogenous extension, and $\Uh{\sl(2)}$ from their $q$-deformed counterparts.

On The Inhomogeneous Quantum Groups

Using the multi-parametric deformation of the algebra of functions on $ \GL{n+1} $ and the universal enveloping algebra $ \U{\igl{n+1}} $, we construct the multi-parametric quantum groups $ \IGLq{n} $ and $ \Uq{\igl{n}} $.

On Little Groups and Boosts of $κ$-deformed Poincare Group

We show how Wigner's little group approach to the representation theory of Poincaré group may be generalized to the case of $κ$-deformed Poincaré group. We also derive the deformed Lorentz transformations of energy and momentum. We find that if the $κ$-deformed Poincaré group is adopted as the fundamental symmetry of nature, it results in deviations from predictions of the Poincaré symmetry at large energies, which may be experimentally observable.
