Photoprocesses for the 3H4He and 3He4He channels in the cluster potential model

Radiative capture in the 4He3H and 4He3He channels are considered for the 7Li and 7Be nuclei. The analysis is based on the corresponding two-cluster models. The potentials of cluster interaction include forbidden states and are made to be consistent with the phase shifts of elastic scattering at energies up to 20 MeV. Such an approach is shown to describe the total cross sections for photoprocesses over the entire energy region under consideration.

The radiative neutron capture on 2H, 6Li, 7Li, 12C and 13C at astrophysical energies

The continued interest to the study of the radiative neutron capture on atomic nuclei is caused, on the one hand, by the important role of this process in the analysis of many fundamental properties of nuclei and nuclear reactions, and, on the other hand, by the wide use of the capture cross section data in the various applications of nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics, and, also, by the analysis of the processes of primordial nucleosynthesis in the Universe. This review is devoted to description of the results obtained for the processes of the radiative neutron capture at thermal and astrophysical energies on certain light atomic nuclei. The consideration of these processes is done in the frame of the potential cluster model, the general principles of which and calculation methods were described earlier. The methods of usage of the obtained on the basis of the phase shift analysis intercluster potentials will be directly demonstrated for calculations of the radiative capture characteristics. The considered capture reactions are not a part of stellar thermonuclear cycles, but they get in the basic reaction chain of primordial nucleosynthesis, taken place in the time of the Universe formation.

Radiative p15N Capture At Astrophysical Energy

The possibility of description of the experimental data for the astrophysical S-factor of the radiative proton capture on 15N at the energies from 50 to 1500 keV was considered in the framework of the modified potential cluster model with the classification of the orbital states according to Young tableaux. It was shown that, on the basis of the M1 and the E1 transitions from different states of the p15N scattering to the ground state of 16O in the p15N channel, it is quite succeed to explain general behavior of the S-factor in the considered energy range in the presence of two resonances.

Radiative neutron capture on 14C and 14N

The possibility of description of the experimental data on total cross sections of the radiative neutron capture on 14C and 14N is considered within the frame of the potential cluster model with forbidden states and their classification according to Young schemes. It is shown that the using model and the potential construction methods allow to reproduce correctly the behavior of experimental cross sections at the energies from 10 meV (0.01 eV) to 1 MeV.

Cross Sections for the Astrophysical Neutron Radiative Capture on 12C and 13C Nuclei

Within the potential cluster model with Pauli forbidden states the possibility of description of the experimental data on the total radiative n12C- and n13C-capture cross sections in the astrophysical energy range from 25 meV to 1.0 MeV is presented. The E1-transition covers the capture data from the scattering states to the ground one of 13C and 14C nuclei. Capture on the three low laying excited states 1/2+, 3/2- and 5/2+ of 13C was calculated.

The 7Li(n,gamma)8Li Radiative Capture at Astrophysical Energies

The variants of intercluster interaction potentials were constructed for description of the resonance nature of some phase shifts of the n7Li elastic scattering at low energies and the P2 ground state of 8Li in the n7Li cluster channel. The possibility of describing the total cross sections of 7Li(n,g)8Li in the region from 5 meV (5 10-3 eV) to 1 MeV including resonance at 0.25 MeV was shown with the potentials obtained in the potential cluster model taking into account forbidden states.

Astrophysical S-factors of proton radiative capture for thermonuclear reactions

In this review we have considered the possibility to describe the astrophysical S-factors of radiative capture reactions with light atomic nuclei on the basis of the potential two-cluster model by taking into account the splitting the orbital states according to Young's schemes. Within this model, interaction of the nucleon clusters is described by local two-particle potential determined by fit to the scattering data and properties of bound states of these clusters. Many-body character of the problem is taken into account under some approximation, in terms of the allowed or forbidden by the Pauli principle states in intercluster potentials. An important feature of the approach is accounting for a dependence of interaction potential between clusters on the orbital Young scheme, which determines the permutation symmetry of the nucleon system. The astrophysical S-factors of the radiative capture processes in the p2H, p7Li and p12C systems are analyzed on the basis of this approach. It is shown that the approach allows one to describe quite reasonably experimental data available at low energies, when the phase shifts of cluster-cluster scattering are extracted from the data with minimal errors. In this connection the problem of experimental error decrease is exclusively urgent for the differential cross-sections of elastic scattering of light atomic nuclei at astrophysical energies and to perform a more accurate phase shift analysis. The increase in the accuracy will allow, in future, making more definite conclusions regarding the mechanisms and conditions of thermonuclear reactions, as well as understanding better their nature in general.

Astrophysical S-factor for the radiative capture reaction 13C(p,g)14N

The phase shift analysis, done on the basis of the known measurements of the differential cross-sections of the p13C elastic scattering at the energy range 250-750 keV, shows that it is enough to take into account only 3S1 wave in the considered energy region. The potential for the triplet 3S1 state in p13C system at the resonance energy 0.55 MeV corresponding to quantum numbers JpT = 1-1 as well as the potential for the 3P1 bound state of 14N were constructed on the basis of the obtained scattering phase shifts. The possibility to describe the experimental data of the astrophysical S-factor of the p13C radiative capture at the energies 0.03-0.8 MeV was considered within the potential cluster model with the forbidden states. It was shown that we properly succeed in explanation of the energy behavior of the astrophysical S-factor for the p13C radiative capture at the resonance energy range 0.55 MeV (laboratory system).

The possibility to describe the astrophysical S-factor of the 4He12C radiative capture is considered in the potential cluster model at the energy range 0.1-4.0 MeV. It is shown that the approach used, which takes into account E2 transitions only, gives a good description of the new experimental data for adjusted parameters of potentials and leads to the value S(300) = 16.0$\cdotp$keV b.

Astrophysical S-factors of radiative capture of protons on 2H, 3H, 6Li and 12C nuclei

We have considered the possibility to describe the astrophysical S-factors of some light atomic nuclei on the basis of the potential cluster model by taking into account the supermultiplet symmetry of wave functions and splitting the orbital states according to Young's schemes. Such an approach allows analyzing the structure of inter-cluster interactions, to determine the presence of allowed and forbidden states in the interaction potential and so the number of nodes of the orbital wave function of cluster relative motion.

Electromagnetic Effects in Light Nuclei and the Potential Cluster Model. IV

Photodisintegration and radiative capture in the N2H, N3H, N3He, 2H2H, 2H3He, 2H4He, 3He3H, 4He3H, and 4He3He channels are studied on the basis of the corresponding two-cluster potential models. The astrophysical S factors at low energies are calculated. It is shown that various electromagnetic characteristics of light nuclei, including the Coulomb form factors at momenta of up to 4 F-1 can be studied using a single set of intercluster interactions containing forbidden states and consistent with the phase shifts of the cluster low-energy elastic scattering. The calculated inelastic form factors have a second maximum at 3-4 F-1, although it is lower than the experimental one. The orbital states are classified for the lightest cluster systems, and the phase shifts and intercluster potentials are separated on the basis of Young orbital schemes. It is fourth part of the review. The first part on nucl-th/9803039, second part on nucl-th/9803040, third part on nucl-th/9803041.

Coulomb form factors of 6Li and 7Li in potentials cluster model

Elastic and inelastic Coulomb form factors of 6Li and 7Li nuclei are considered on the basis of 4He2H and 3He3H cluster models. Potentials containing forbidden states, which describe main characteristics of bound states and phase shifts of elastic scattering at low energies, are used as intercluster potentials. It is obtained a good description of elastic form factors for momenta up to 4 Fm-1 as well as the second maximum at 3 - 4 Fm-1 in the calculated elastic form factors. The amplitude of this maximum for inelastic form factors is smaller than the experimental value.
