On the Anisotropy of E0 >= 5.5$\times$1019 eV Cosmic Rays according to Data of the Pierre Auger Collaboration

The Pierre Auger Collaboration discovered, in a solid angle of radius about 18\degree, a local group of cosmic rays having energies in the region E0 \geq 5.5\times1019 eV and coming from the region of the Gen A radio galaxy, whose galactic coordinates are lG = 309.5\degree and bG = 19.4\degree. Near it, there is the Centaur supercluster of galaxies, its galactic coordinates being lG = 302.4\degree and bG = 21.6\degree. It is noteworthy that the Great Attractor, which may have a direct bearing on the observed picture, is also there.

Constraints on the flux of primary cosmic-ray photons at energies E > 10^18 eV from Yakutsk muon data

Comparing the signals measured by the surface and underground scintillator detectors of the Yakutsk Extensive Air Shower Array, we place upper limits on the integral flux and the fraction of primary cosmic-ray photons with energies E > 10^18 eV, E > 2*10^18 eV and E > 4*10^18 eV. The large collected statistics of the showers measured by large-area muon detectors provides a sensitivity to photon fractions < 10^-2, thus achieving precision previously unreachable at ultra-high energies.

The possible feature of the energy spectrum of the primary cosmic rays at ultra-high energies

The energies of the most energetic extensive air showers observed at the Yakutsk array have been estimated with help of the all detectors readings instead of using of the standard procedure with a parameter s(600). The energy of the most energetic extensive air shower observed at the Yakutsk array happened to be 200, 200, 180 and 165 EeV with the values of the Xi**2 function per one degree of freedom 0.9, 1., 0.9 and 1.1 for the primary protons and helium, oxygen and iron nuclei accordingly.

About chemical composition of the primary cosmic radiation at ultra-high energies

The fluxes of electrons, positrons, gammas, Cherenkov photons and muons in individual extensive air showers induced by the primary protons and helium, oxygen and iron nuclei at the level of observation have been estimated with help of the code CORSICA 6.616. The comparison show that the values of the function Xi**2 per one degree of freedom changes from 1.1 for iron nuclei to 0.9 for primary protons. As this difference is small all readings of detectors of the Vavilov-Cherenkov radiation have been used. At last, readings of underground detectors of muons with energies above 1 GeV have been exploited to make definite conclusion about chemical composition.

Muon content of ultra-high-energy air showers: Yakutsk data versus simulations

We analyse a sample of 33 extensive air showers (EAS) with estimated primary energies above 2\cdot 10^{19} eV and high-quality muon data recorded by the Yakutsk EAS array. We compare, event-by-event, the observed muon density to that expected from CORSIKA simulations for primary protons and iron, using SIBYLL and EPOS hadronic interaction models. The study suggests the presence of two distinct hadronic components, ``light'' and ``heavy''. Simulations with EPOS are in a good agreement with the expected composition in which the light component corresponds to protons and the heavy component to iron-like nuclei. With SYBILL, simulated muon densities for iron primaries are a factor of \sim 1.5 less than those observed for the heavy component, for the same electromagnetic signal. Assuming two-component proton-iron composition and the EPOS model, the fraction of protons with energies E>10^{19} eV is 0.52^{+0.19}_{-0.20} at 95% confidence level.

Constraining the fraction of primary gamma rays at ultra-high energies from the muon data of the Yakutsk extensive-air-shower array

By making use of the data on the total signal and on the muon component of the air showers detected by the Yakutsk array, we analyze, in the frameworks of the recently suggested event-by-event approach, how large the fraction of primary gamma-rays at ultra-high energies can be. We derive upper limits on the photon fraction in the integral flux of primary cosmic rays. At the 95% confidence level (CL), these limits are 22% for primary energies E_0>4\cdot 10^{19}eV and 12% for E_0>2\cdot 10^{19}eV. Despite the presence of muonless events, the data are consistent with complete absence of photons at least at 95% CL. The sensitivity of the results to systematic uncertainties, in particular to those of the energy determination for non-photon primaries, is discussed.

Change of Mass in the Conservative System of Bodies

A problem of mass in macro- and microcosm has been considered from the single point of view on the basis of the law of conservation of energy. It is shown that in the conservative (absolutely closed) system all types of motion and interaction of the bodies are possible only at the expense of the mass defect of bodies themselves. As the result, their mass becomes less than the initial rest mass before forming the system. It leads to some change in the energy balance of the system and it is noticeably manifested in the motion of bodies in the relativistic velocity region. The accounting of that essentially adds a customary picture for the motion of bodies in the conservative system.

Upper limit on the ultra-high-energy photon flux from AGASA and Yakutsk data

We present the interpretation of the muon and scintillation signals of ultra-high-energy air showers observed by AGASA and Yakutsk extensive air shower array experiments. We consider case-by-case ten highest energy events with known muon content and conclude that at the 95% confidence level (C.L.) none of them was induced by a primary photon. Taking into account statistical fluctuations and differences in the energy estimation of proton and photon primaries, we derive an upper limit of 36% at 95% C.L. on the fraction of primary photons in the cosmic-ray flux above 10^20 eV. This result disfavors the Z-burst and superheavy dark-matter solutions to the GZK-cutoff problem.

The Big Bang Problems: Anisotropy of z <= 6 Redshifts

The three-dimensional space distribution of 48921 quasars and 16113 Seyfert galaxies with redshifts z <= 6 is investigated. The global anisotropy caused by the shift of the observer place by \simeq 50 Mpc from a center of their symmetry (supposed center of the Metagalaxy) to the side of the vector with equatorial coordinates α\simeq 13 degrees and δ\simeq 70 degrees has been found in the placement of these objects. In the opposite direction there exists the extensive region where the progressive decrease of redshifts up to a minimum (near α\simeq 193 degrees, δ\simeq -70 degrees) is observed. The influence of gravitational potential and possible rotation of the Metagalaxy on the anisotropy of redshifts of the cosmological objects has been considered.

Galactic Cosmic Rays and Insolation are the Main Drivers of Global Climate of the Earth

An energy-balance model of global climate, which takes into account a nontrivial role of galactic cosmic rays, is developed. The model is described by the fold catastrophe equation relative to increment of temperature, where galactic cosmic rays and insolation are control parameters. The comparison of the results of a computer simulation of time-dependent solution of the presented model and oxygen isotope records of deep-sea core V28-238 over the past 730 kyr are presented. The climate evolution in future 100 kyr is also predicted.

Cosmic Rays with Energy Above 10^{17} ev

The energy spectrum of primary cosmic rays with ultra high energies based on the Yakutsk EAS Array data is presented. For the largest events values of S600 and axis coordinates have been obtained using revised lateral distribution function. The affect of the arrival time distribution at several axis distance on estimated density for Yakutsk and AGASA is considered.

Spectrum of cosmic rays with energy above $10^{17}$ eV

There are some discrepancies in the results on energy spectrum from Yakutsk, AGASA, and HiRes experiments. In this work differential energy spectrum of primary cosmic rays based on the Yakutsk EAS Array data is presented. For the largest events values of $S_{600}$ and axes coordinates have been obtained using revised lateral distribution function. Simulation of converter's response at large distances showed no considerable underestimation of particle density. Complex shape of spectrum in region of $\E > 10^{17}$ eV is confirmed. After adjustment of parameters and additional exposition at the Yakutsk array there are three events with energy $\E > 10^{20}$ eV.

The spectrum features of UHECRs below and surrounding GZK

The energy spectrum of UHECRs is discussed on the basis of the Yakutsk array database analysis. In the region E=0.1 to 30 EeV the showers are detected under trigger-500, while at energies above 30 EeV the whole acceptance area for trigger-1000 is used in order to utilize all the data available in the region of GZK cutoff.

Cosmic Rays and Solar Insolation as the Main Control Parameters of the Catastrophe Theory of Climatic Response to Orbital Variations

The energy-balance model of global climate, which is taking into account a nontrivial role of solar and galactic protons, is presented. The model is described by the equation of fold catastrophe relative to increment of temperature, where the variation of a solar insolation and cosmic rays are control parameters. It is shown that the bifurcation equation of the model describes one of two stable states of the climate system. The solution of this equation exhibits the property of the determined bistable behavior of climate at the global level and the possibility of appearance of the determined chaos of "the weathers" at the local levels. The results of the comparative analysis of the computer simulation of the time-dependent solution of energy-balance model of global climate and the oxygen isotope records for deep-sea core V28-238 over the past 730 kyr are presented, and the evolution of climate on 100 kyr forward is also predicted. It is shown that the proposed model successfully explains the nicety of the paleoclimatic records. The model is clear of all known difficulties of the Milankovich theory for the analysis and the interpretation of physical mechanism, by which the climate system responds to orbital forcing.
