Quasiparticle solutions to the 1D nonlocal Fisher--KPP equation with a fractal time derivative in the weak diffusion approximation

In this paper, we propose an approach for constructing quasiparticle-like asymptotic solutions within the weak diffusion approximation for the generalized population Fisher--Kolmogorov--Petrovskii--Piskunov (Fisher--KPP) equation, which incorporates nonlocal quadratic competitive losses and a fractal time derivative of non-integer order $α$, where $0<α\leq 1$. This approach is based on the semiclassical approximation and the principles of the Maslov method. The fractal time derivative is introduced in the framework of $F^α$-calculus. The Fisher--KPP equation is decomposed into a system of nonlinear equations that describe the dynamics of interacting quasiparticles within classes of trajectory-concentrated functions. A key element in constructing approximate quasiparticle solutions is the interplay between the dynamical system of quasiparticle moments and an auxiliary linear system of equations, which is coupled with the nonlinear system. General constructions are illustrated through examples that examine the effect of the fractal parameter $α$ on quasiparticle behavior.

Semiclassical approach to the nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a non-Hermitian term

The nonlinear Schödinger equation (NLSE) with a non-Hermitian term is the model for various phenomena in nonlinear open quantum systems. We deal with the Cauchy problem for the nonlocal generalization of multidimensional NLSE with a non-Hermitian term. Using the ideas of the Maslov method, we propose the method of constructing asymptotic solutions to this equation within the framework of semiclassically concentrated states. The semiclassical nonlinear evolution operator and symmetry operators for the leading term of asymptotics are derived. Our approach is based on the solutions of the auxiliary dynamical system that effectively linearize the problem under certain algebraic conditions. The formalism proposed is illustrated with the specific example of the NLSE with a non-Hermitian term that is the model of an atom laser. The analytical asymptotic solution to the Cauchy problem is obtained explicitly for this example.

Comments on the article "M.O. Katanaev, Complete separation of variables in the geodesic Hamilton-Jacobi equation in four dimensions, Physica Scripta (2023), 98, 104001"

The present note is a feedback on the article by M.O. Katanaev in "Physica Scripta" (2023, 98, 104001), where, in our opinion, a distorted view of the classical theory of separation of variables in the Hamilton-Jacobi equation is given. We show that the metrics given in this paper, addmiting separation of variables, are special cases of V.N. Shapovalov metrics ("Siberian Mathematical Journal", 1979, 20, 790), finally obtained in the 70s of the last century. The results of the article in question, unlike the original ones, do not have scientific novelty and contain omissions and incorrect statements.

Quasiparticles for the one-dimensional nonlocal Fisher-Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov equation

We construct quasiparticles-like solutions to the one-dimensional Fisher-Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov (FKPP) with a nonlocal nonlinearity using the method of semiclassically concentrated states in the weak diffusion approximation. Such solutions are of use for predicting the dynamics of population patterns. The interaction of quasiparticles stems from nonlocal competitive losses in the FKPP model. We developed the formalism of our approach relying on ideas of the Maslov method. The construction of the asymptotic expansion of a solution to the original nonlinear evolution equation is based on solutions to an auxiliary dynamical system of ODEs. The asymptotic solutions for various specific cases corresponding to various spatial profiles of the reproduction rate and nonlocal competitive losses are studied within the framework of the approach proposed.

Harmonic oscillator coherent states from the orbit theory standpoint

We study the known coherent states of a quantum harmonic oscillator from the standpoint of the original developed noncommutative integration method for linear partial differential equations. The application of the method is based on the symmetry properties of the Schrödinger equation and on the orbit geometry of the coadjoint representation of Lie groups. We have shown that analogs of coherent states constructed by the noncommutative integration can be expressed in terms of the solution of a system of differential equations on the Lie group of the oscillatory Lie algebra. The solutions constructed are directly related to irreducible representation of the Lie algebra on the Hilbert space functions on the Lagrangian submanifold to the orbit of the coadjoint representation.

Noncommutative reduction of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation on Lie groups

We propose a new approach that allows one to reduce nonlinear equations on Lie groups to equations with a fewer number of independent variables for finding particular solutions of the nonlinear equations. The main idea is to apply the method of noncommutative integration to the linear part of a nonlinear equation, which allows one to find bases in the space of solutions of linear partial differential equations with a set of noncommuting symmetry operators. The approach is implemented for the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation on a Lie group in curved space with local cubic nonlinearity. General formalism is illustrated by the example of noncommutative reduction of the nonstationary nonlinear Schrödinger equation on the motion group $E(2)$ of the two-dimensional plane $\mathbb{R}^{2}$. In the particular case, we come to the usual ($1+1$) dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with the soliton solution. Another example provides the noncommutative reduction of the stationary multidimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation on the four-dimensional exponential solvable group.

Noncommutative integration of the Dirac equation in homogeneous spaces

We develop a noncommutative integration method for the Dirac equation in homogeneous spaces. The Dirac equation with an invariant metric is shown to be equivalent to a system of equations on a Lie group of transformations of a homogeneous space. This allows us to effectively apply the noncommutative integration method of linear partial differential equations on Lie groups. This method differs from the well-known method of separation of variables and to some extent can often supplement it. The general structure of the method developed is illustrated with an example of a homogeneous space which does not admit separation of variables in the Dirac equation. However, the basis of exact solutions to the Dirac equation is constructed explicitly by the noncommutative integration method. Also, we construct a complete set of new exact solutions to the Dirac equation in the three-dimensional de Sitter space-time $\mathrm{AdS_{3}}$ using the method developed. The solutions obtained are found in terms of elementary functions, which is characteristic of the noncommutative integration method.

Vacuum quantum effects on Lie groups with bi-invariant metrics

We consider the effects of vacuum polarization and particle creation of a scalar field on Lie groups with a non-stationary bi-invariant metric of the Robertson-Walker type. The vacuum expectation values of the energy momentum tensor for a scalar field determined by the group representation are found using the noncommutative integration method for the field equations instead of separation of variables. The results obtained are illustrated by the example of the three-dimensional rotation group.

An application of the Maslov complex germ method to the 1D nonlocal Fisher-KPP equation

A semiclassical approximation approach based on the Maslov complex germ method is considered in detail for the 1D nonlocal Fisher-Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov equation under the supposition of weak diffusion. In terms of the semiclassical formalism developed, the original nonlinear equation is reduced to an associated linear partial differential equation and some algebraic equations for the coefficients of the linear equation with a given accuracy of the asymptotic parameter. The solutions of the nonlinear equation are constructed from the solutions of both the linear equation and the algebraic equations. The solutions of the linear problem are found with the use of symmetry operators. A countable family of the leading terms of the semiclassical asymptotics is constructed in explicit form. The semiclassical asymptotics are valid by construction in a finite time interval. We construct asymptotics which are different from the semiclassical ones and can describe evolution of the solutions of the Fisher-Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov equation at large times. In the example considered, an initial unimodal distribution becomes multimodal, which can be treated as an example of a space structure.

Symmetry operators and separation of variables in the $(2+1)$-dimensional Dirac equation with external electromagnetic field

We obtain and analyze equations determining first-order differential symmetry operators with matrix coefficients for the Dirac equation with an external electromagnetic potential in a $(2+1)$-dimensional Riemann (curved) spacetime. Nonequivalent complete sets of mutually commuting symmetry operators are classified in a $(2+1)$-dimensional Minkowski (flat) space. For each of the sets we carry out a complete separation of variables in the Dirac equation and find a corresponding electromagnetic potential permitting separation of variables.

The Dirac equation in an external electromagnetic field: symmetry algebra and exact integration

Integration of the Dirac equation with an external electromagnetic field is explored in the framework of the method of separation of variables and of the method of noncommutative integration. We have found a new type of solutions that are not obtained by separation of variables for several external electromagnetic fields. We have considered an example of crossed electric and magnetic fields of a special type for which the Dirac equation admits a nonlocal symmetry operator

Yang-Mills gauge fields conserving the symmetry algebra of the Dirac equation in a homogeneous space

We consider the Dirac equation with an external Yang-Mills gauge field in a homogeneous space with an invariant metric. The Yang-Mills fields for which the motion group of the space serves as the symmetry group for the Dirac equation are found by comparison of the Dirac equation with an invariant matrix differential operator of the first order. General constructions are illustrated by the example of de Sitter space. The eigenfunctions and the corresponding eigenvalues for the Dirac equation are obtained in the space $\mathbb{R}^2\times \mathbb{S}^2$ by a noncommutative integration method.

Pattern formation in terms of semiclassically limited distribution on lower-dimensional manifolds for nonlocal Fisher--Kolmogorov--Petrovskii--Piskunov equation

We have investigated the pattern formation in systems described by the nonlocal Fisher--Kolmogorov--Petrovskii--Piskunov equation for the cases where the dimension of the pattern concentration area is less than that of independent variables space. We have obtained a system of integro-differential equations which describe the dynamics of the concentration area and the semiclassically limited distribution of a pattern in the class of trajectory concentrated functions. Also, asymptotic large-time solutions have been obtained that describe the semiclassically limited distribution of a quasi-steady-state pattern on the concentration manifold. The approach is illustrated by an example for which the analytical solution is in good agreement with the prediction of a numerical simulation.

Quasi-energy spectral series and the Aharonov-Anandan phase for the nonlocal Gross--Pitaevsky equation

For the nonlocal $T$-periodic Gross-Pitaevsky operator, formal solutions of the Floquet problem asymptotic in small parameter $\hbar$, $\hbar\to0$, up to $O(\hbar^{3/2})$ have been constructed. The quasi-energy spectral series found correspond to the closed phase trajectories of the Hamilton-Ehrenfest system which are stable in the linear approximation. The monodromy operator of this equation has been constructed to within $\hat O(\hbar^{3/2})$ in the class of trajectory-concentrated functions. The Aharonov-Anandan phases have been calculated for the quasi-energy states.

The evolution operator of the Hartree-type equation with a quadratic potential

Based on the ideology of the Maslov's complex germ theory, a method has been developed for finding an exact solution of the Cauchy problem for a Hartree-type equation with a quadratic potential in the class of semiclassically concentrated functions. The nonlinear evolution operator has been obtained in explicit form in the class of semiclassically concentrated functions. Parametric families of symmetry operators have been found for the Hartree-type equation. With the help of symmetry operators, families of exact solutions of the equation have been constructed. Exact expressions are obtained for the quasi-energies and their respective states. The Aharonov-Anandan geometric phases are found in explicit form for the quasi-energy states.
