Code for prompt numerical computation of the leading order GPD evolution

This paper describes the design and work of a set of computer routines capable for numerical computation of generalized parton distributions (GPDs) evolution at the leading order. The main intention of this work is to present a fast-working computer code making possible fitting of GPDs parameters to the data on hard electron-nucleon scattering.

Can the total angular momentum of u-quarks in the nucleon be accessed at HERMES?

We investigate the possibility to acquire information on the generalized parton distribution E and, through a model for E, also on the u-quark total angular momentum J_u by studying deeply virtual Compton scattering and hard exclusive rho0 electroproduction on a transversely polarized hydrogen target at HERMES. It is found that a change in J_u from zero to 0.4 corresponds to a 4σ(2σ) difference in the calculated transverse target-spin asymmetry in deeply virtual Compton scattering (rho0 electroproduction), where σis the total experimental uncertainty.

Quarks vs. gluons in exclusive rho electroproduction

We compare the contributions from quark and from gluon exchange to the exclusive process gamma* p -> rho0 p. We present evidence that the gluon contribution is substantial for values of the Bjorken variable xB around 0.1.

Regge and factorized GPD models in $ρ^0$ elastic electroproduction

A possibility to study Regge and factorized parameterizations of generalized parton distributions in hard electroproduction of $ρ^0$ on the proton is considered. For that the dependences of the differential cross sections on the transferred momentum for these parameterizations are compared.

DIS structure functions and the double-spin asymmetry in $ρ^0$ electroproduction within a Regge approach

The proton, neutron and deuteron structure functions $F_2(x,Q^2)$ and $g_1(x,Q^2)$, measured at intermediate $Q^2$, are analyzed within a Regge approach. This analysis serves to fix the parameters of this scheme which are then used to calculate, in a unified Regge approach, the properties of $ρ^0$ meson electroproduction on the proton and the deuteron. In this way, the double-spin asymmetry observed at HERMES in $ρ^0$ electroproduction on the proton, can be related to the anomalous behavior of the flavor-singlet part of the spin-dependent structure function $g_1(x,Q^2)$ at small $x$.

A mechanism for the Double-Spin Asymmetry in Electromagnetic $ρ$ Production at HERMES

We calculate the contribution of meson and pomeron exchanges to the double-spin asymmetry in $ρ$-meson electromagnetic production at HERMES energies. We show that the observed double-spin asymmetries, which are large, can be explained by the interference between the natural parity $f_2$-secondary Reggeon and the unnatural parity anomalous $f_1$ exchanges.

New Anomalous Exchange in Regge Phenomenology and Hard Diffraction

A new mechanism for hard diffraction based on the anomalous $f_1$ trajectory exchange, which we identify as the odd signature partner of the Pomeron, is suggested. We calculate the contribution of the $f_1$ exchange to elastic and dissociative electromagnetic production of vector mesons and show that it gives a dominant contribution to the differential cross sections at large momentum transfers.

The role of secondary Reggeons in central meson production

We estimate the contribution of f_2 trajectory exchange to the central ηand η^\prime production. It is shown that secondary Reggeons may give a large contribution to processes of double diffractive meson production at high energy.

Instantons and $η$ Meson Production near threshold in NN collisions

An enhancement for the $η$ production in proton-neutron collisions as compared with that in proton-proton scattering has been recently observed. We present a calculation for the production cross section, in proton-neutron collisions near threshold, within instanton model for the QCD vacuum and show that a specific flavor dependent nonperturbative quark-gluon interaction related to instantons is able to explain the observed enhancement.

Pomeron Fusion and Central $η$ and $η'$ Meson Production

The contribution of pomeron fusion to the cross section of $η$ and $η'$ productions in double-diffractive scattering has been calculated within the Donnachie-Landshoff model of pomeron. It is shown that the double pomeron exchange mechanism does not explain the full set of the recent data of WA102 Collaboration, though it might not be inconsistent with $η'$ productions.
