Evanescent incompressible strips as origin of the observed Hall resistance overshoot

In this work we provide a systematic explanation to the unusual non-monotonic behavior of the Hall resistance observed at two-dimensional electron systems. We use a semi-analytical model based on the interaction theory of the integer quantized Hall effect to investigate the existence of the anomalous, \emph{i.e} overshoot, Hall resistance $R_{H}$. The observation of the overshoot resistance at low magnetic field edge of the plateaus is elucidated by means of overlapping evanescent incompressible strips, formed due to strong magnetic fields and interactions. Utilizing a self-consistent numerical scheme we also show that, if the magnetic field is decreased the $R_{H}$ decreases to its expected value. The effects of the sample width, temperature, disorder strength and magnetic field on the overshoot peaks are investigated in detail. Based on our findings, we predict a controllable procedure to manipulate the maxima of the peaks, which can be tested experimentally. Our model does not depend on specific and intrinsic properties of the material, provided that a single particle gap exists.

Invariance quantum group of the fermionic oscillator

The fermionic oscillator defined by the algebraic relations cc^*+c^*c=1 and c^{2}=0 admits the homogeneous group O(2) as its invariance group. We show that, the structure of the inhomogeneous invariance group of this oscillator is a quantum group.

Generalized exclusion and Hopf algebras

We propose a generalized oscillator algebra at the roots of unity with generalized exclusion and we investigate the braided Hopf structure. We find that there are two solutions: these are the generalized exclusions of the bosonic and fermionic types. We also discuss the covariance properties of these oscillators

Braided Oscillators

The braided Hopf algebra structure of the generalized oscillator is investigated. Using the solutions two types of braided Fibonacci oscillators are introduced. This leads to two types of braided Biedenharn-Macfarlane oscillators.

Fractional Super Lie Algebras and Groups

n^{th} root of a Lie algebra and its dual (that is fractional supergroup) based on the permutation group $S_n$ invariant forms are formulated in the Hopf algebra formalism. Detailed discussion of $S_3$-graided $sl(2)$ algebras is done.

A new algebra which transmutes to the braided algebra

We find a new braided Hopf structure for the algebra satisfied by the entries of the braided matrix $BSL_q(2)$. A new nonbraided algebra whose coalgebra structure is the same as the braided one is found to be a two parameter deformed algebra. It is found that this algebra is not a comodule algebra under adjoint coaction. However, it is shown that for a certain value of one of the deformation parameters the braided algebra becomes a comodule algebra under the coaction of this nonbraided algebra. The transmutation of the nonbraided algebra to the braided one is constructed explicitly.
