Probing the limits on anomalous quartic gauge couplings via $ZZ\gamma$ production in the $\ell\ell\nu\nu\gamma$ channel at FCC-hh

In this study, the sensitivity to anomalous quartic gauge couplings (aQGCs) is projected via $pp \rightarrow ZZ\gamma$ production in the 100 TeV proton-proton Future Circular Collider - hadron-hadron (FCC-hh) for an integrated luminosity of 30 ab$^{-1}$. The $\ell\ell\nu\nu\gamma$ final state under consideration consists of a same-flavor, opposite-sign lepton pair (electrons or muons) from one $Z$ boson, the invisible decay of the other $Z$ boson into neutrinos, and an accompanying photon. The FCC-hh detector response and its effects on the reconstructed objects are included through a realistic detector simulation. Three multivariate techniques are employed to separate the signal from the relevant SM backgrounds. Unitarity is preserved by a strict, operator-dependent bound on the total transverse mass ($M_T^{tot}$) of the system. The median expected significances are calculated within the Asimov approximation for one anomalous coupling varied at a time and for background systematic uncertainties between 0\% and 10\%. The highest separation power is obtained with the deep neural network method. The resulting 95\% confidence level limits on $|f_{T0}/\Lambda^{4}|$, $|f_{T8}/\Lambda^{4}|$, $|f_{T9}/\Lambda^{4}|$ and $|f_{M2}/\Lambda^{4}|$ in the combined $e+\mu$ channel without systematic uncertainties are $2.83\times 10^{-3}$, $1.65\times 10^{-3}$, $3.81\times 10^{-3}$ and $8.97\times 10^{-3}$ TeV$^{-4}$, respectively. We have an order of magnitude improvement when compared to current LHC limits with the assumption of 5\% systematic uncertainty.

PANDA Phase One

The Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) in Darmstadt, Germany, provides unique possibilities for a new generation of hadron-, nuclear- and atomic physics experiments. The future antiProton ANnihilations at DArmstadt (PANDA or $\overline{\rm P}$ANDA) experiment at FAIR will offer a broad physics programme, covering different aspects of the strong interaction. Understanding the latter in the non-perturbative regime remains one of the greatest challenges in contemporary physics. The antiproton-nucleon interaction studied with PANDA provides crucial tests in this area. Furthermore, the high-intensity, low-energy domain of PANDA allows for searches for physics beyond the Standard Model, e.g. through high precision symmetry tests. This paper takes into account a staged approach for the detector setup and for the delivered luminosity from the accelerator. The available detector setup at the time of the delivery of the first antiproton beams in the HESR storage ring is referred to as the \textit{Phase One} setup. The physics programme that is achievable during Phase One is outlined in this paper.

Study of a large array to detect ultra high energy tau-neutrino

The $PeV$ cosmogenic neutrino is still interesting argument. Since cosmogenic neutrinos interact weakly with matter, the detection of their direction will precisely point out the source in the space. In this paper, we show the results of the simulation of tau lepton air showers induced by high energy neutrinos detected by an array of stations designed to use the Earth Skimming method improved by the "mountain chain screen" strategy. Both track time stamp and position information of the stations on the array are used to reconstruct the shower to estimate the direction and the number of events. The array studied consists of 640 stations ($40 \times 16$) spread over an area of $0.6\,km^2$ starting from $1500\,m$ above the sea level (a.s.l.) on $30^{o}$ inclined plane of the mountain. When we extrapolate to 3 years and 10 $km^2$ we estimate 13 tau lepton events in energy interval of 10 PeV to 1000 PeV detected using the present upper limits of tau neutrino flux.

Investigation of Charged Higgs Boson in the Bottom and Top Quark Decay Channel at the FCC-hh

After the recent discovery of a neutral Higgs boson with a mass about 125 GeV, we assess the extend of discovery potential of future circular hadron collider (FCC-hh) for a charged Higgs boson in the bottom and top quark decay channel. The charged Higgs boson can be produced through the pp->h^{-}t+X process with a subsequent decay h^{-}->b bar{t} channel. This decay channel is particularly important for studying the charged Higgs boson heavier than the top quark. We consider an extension of the standard model Higgs sector, namely two Higgs doublet model (2HDM), and perform a dedicated signal significance analysis to test this channel for the FCC-hh running at the center of mass energy of 100 TeV and the integrated luminosity of 1 ab^{-1} (initial) and 30 ab^{-1} (ultimate). We find that an important part of the parameter spaces of two Higgs doublet model are examinable at the FCC-hh.

Restricted configuration path integral Monte Carlo

Quantum Monte Carlo belongs to the most accurate simulation techniques for quantum many-particle systems. However, for fermions, these simulations are hampered by the sign problem that prohibits simulations in the regime of strong degeneracy. The situation changed with the development of configuration path integral Monte Carlo (CPIMC) by Schoof \textit{et al.} [T. Schoof \textit{et al.}, Contrib. Plasma Phys. \textbf{51}, 687 (2011)] that allowed for the first \textit{ab initio} simulations for dense quantum plasmas. CPIMC also has a sign problem that occurs when the density is lowered, i.e. in a parameter range that is complementary to traditional QMC formulated in coordinate space. Thus, CPIMC simulations for the warm dense electron gas are limited to small values of the Brueckner parameter -- the ratio of the interparticle distance to the Bohr radius -- $r_s=\bar{r}/a_B \lesssim 1$. In order to reach the regime of stronger coupling (lower density) with CPIMC, here we investigate additional restrictions on the Monte Carlo procedure. In particular, we introduce two different versions of "restricted CPIMC" where certain sign changing Monte Carlo updates are being omitted. Interestingly, one of the methods (RCPIMC) has no sign problem at all, but it is less accurate than RCPIMC+ which neglects only a smaller class of the Monte Carlo steps. Here we report extensive simulations for the ferromagnetic uniform electron gas with which we investigate the properties and accuracy of RCPIMC and RCPIMC+. Further, we establish the parameter range in the density-temperature plane where these simulations are both feasible and accurate. The conclusion is that RCPIMC and RCPIMC+ work best at temperatures in the range of $Θ\sim 0.1\dots 0.5$ allowing to reach density parameters up to $r_s \sim 3\dots 5$, thereby partially filling a gap left open by existing \textit{ab initio} QMC methods.

The projections on $ZZγ$ and $Zγγ$ couplings via $ν\bar νγ$ production in HL-LHC and HE-LHC

We investigate the sensitivity of the anomalous dimension-8 neutral triple gauge couplings via process $pp\to ννγ$ with fast detector simulation including pile-up effects for the post LHC experiments. The transverse momentum of the final state photon and missing energy transverse distributions are considered in the analysis. We obtain the sensitivity to the $C_{\widetilde B W}/Λ^4$, $C_{B B}/Λ^4$, $C_{WW}/Λ^4$ and $C_{BW}/Λ^4$ couplings at HL-LHC and HE-LHC with an integrated luminosity of 3 ab$^{-1}$ and 15 ab$^{-1}$, respectively. Finally, our numerical results show that one can reach the constraints at 95\% confidence level without systematic error on $C_{\widetilde BW}/Λ^4$, $C_{B B}/Λ^4$, $C_{W W}/Λ^4$ and $C_{BW}/Λ^4$ couplings for HL-LHC (HE-LHC) as [-0.38;0.38] ([-0.12;0.12]), [-0.21;0.21]([-0.085;0.085]), [-1.08;1.08]([-0.38;0.38]) and [-0.48;0.48]([-0.25;0.25]), respectively. They are better than the experimental limits obtained by LHC.

Study on Anomalous Neutral Triple Gauge Boson Couplings from Dimension-eight Operators at the HL-LHC

The anomalous neutral triple gauge boson couplings (aNTGCs) for the Z gamma gamma and Z gamma Z vertices described by dimension-eight operators are examined through the process pp to l^{+}l^{-} gamma at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). We performed an analysis on transverse momentum of photon and angular distribution of charged lepton in the final state including detector effects. Sensitivity limits of the C_{\widetilde{B}W}, C_{BB} couplings are obtained at 95 % C.L. to constrain for the range [-1.88: 1.88] TeV^{-4}, [-1.47: 1.47] TeV^{-4} and [-1.14:1.14] TeV^{-4}, [-0.86: 0.86] TeV^{-4} with an integrated luminosity of 300 fb^{-1} and 3000 fb^{-1}, respectively.

Sensitivity on Anomalous Neutral Triple Gauge Couplings via $ZZ$ Production at FCC-hh

We study the sensitivity of anomalous neutral triple gauge couplings ($aNTGC$) via $pp \rightarrow ZZ$ production in the 4$\ell$ channel at 100 TeV centre of mass energy of future circular hadron collider, \verb"FCC-hh". The analysis including the realistic detector effects is performed in the mode where both Z bosons decay into same flavor, oppositely charged lepton pairs. The sensitivities to the charge-parity (CP)-conserving $C_{\tilde{B}W} / Λ^{4}$ and CP-violating $C_{WW} / Λ^{4}$, $C_{BW} / Λ^{4}$ and $C_{BB} / Λ^{4}$ couplings obtained at 95\% Confidence Level (C.L.) using the invariant mass distribution of 4$\ell$ system reconstructing the leading and sub-leading Z boson candidates are $[-0.117, \,\, +0.117]$, $[-0.293, \,\, +0.292]$, $[-0.380, \,\, +0.379]$, and $[-0.138, \,\, +0.138]$ in the unit of TeV$^{-4}$, respectively.

Probing Top Quark FCNC tqgamma and tqZ Couplings at Future Electron-Proton Colliders

The top quark flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) processes are extremely suppressed within the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. However, they could be enhanced in a new physics model Beyond the Standard Model (BSM). The top quark FCNC interactions would be a good test of new physics at present and future colliders. Within the framework of the BSM models, these interactions can be described by an effective Lagrangian. In this work, we study tqgamma and tqZ effective FCNC interaction vertices through the process e-p->e-Wq+X at future electron proton colliders, projected as Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). The cross sections for the signal have been calculated for different values of parameters lambda_q for tqgamma vertices and kappa_q for $tqZ$ vertices. Taking into account the relevant background we estimate the attainable range of signal parameters as a function of the integrated luminosity and present contour plots of couplings for different significance levels including detector simulation.

Probing anomalous $tqγ$ and $tqg$ couplings via single top production in association with photon at FCC-hh

We study the anomalous FCNC $tqγ$ and $tqg$ couplings via $pp\to Wbγ+X$ signal process including realistic detector effects for both leptonic and hadronic decay channels of the W boson at 100 TeV FCC-hh. The relevant background are considered in the cut based analysis to obtain not only limits on the anomalous $λ$ and $ζ$ couplings but also branching ratios of $t\to qγ$ and $t\to qg$ decay channels. We find that the sensitivity to the branching ratio of $t \to q γ$ channel is three order better than the available LHC experimental limits, and it is comparable for the branching ratio of the $t\to qg$ decay channel with an integrated luminosity of 10 ab$^{-1}$ at 2$σ$ significance level.

Probing the Effects of Dimension-eight Operators Describing Anomalous Neutral Triple Gauge Boson Interactions at FCC-hh

The effects of dimension-eight operators giving rise to anomalous neutral triple gauge boson interactions of $Zγγ$ and $ZγZ$ vertices in $pp\to l^-l^+γ$ and $pp\to ν\bar νγ$ are investigated at 100 TeV centre of mass energy of future circular hadron collider (FCC-hh). The transverse momentum of photon, invariant mass of $l^-l^+γ$ and angular distribution of charged lepton in the rest frame of $l^-l^+$ and Missing Energy Transverse (MET) are considered in the analysis. The realistic detector effects are also included with Delphes simulation. Sensitivity limits obtained at 95\% C.L. for $C_{\widetilde B W}/Λ^4$ and $C_{B B}/Λ^4$ couplings are $[-0.52;0.52] ([-0.40;0.40])$ TeV$^{-4}$, $[-0.43;0.43] ([-0.33;0.33])$ TeV$^{-4}$ in the dilepton+photon channel and $[-0.11;0.11] ([-0.084;0.084])$ TeV$^{-4}$, $[-0.092;0.092] ([-0.072;0.072])$ TeV$^{-4}$ in the MET+photon channel with $L_{int}$=1 (3) ab$^{-1}$, respectively.

Probing the Anomalous FCNC tqgamma Couplings at Large Hadron electron Collider

We investigate the anomalous flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions of top quark through the process $e^{-}p\to e^{-}W^{\pm}q+X$. We calculate the signal and background cross sections in electron proton collisions at Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) with a 7 TeV proton beam from the LHC and a new 60 GeV electron beam from energy recovery linac (ERL). We study the relevant background processes including one electron and three jets in the final state. The distributions of the invariant mass of two jets and an additional jet tagged as $b$-jet are used to account signal and background events after the analysis cuts. We find upper bounds on anomalous FCNC couplings $λ$ of the order of $10^{-2}$ at LHeC for a luminosity projection of $100$ fb$^{-1}$ together with the fast simulation of detector effects. As a matter of interest, we analyze the sensitivity to the couplings $(λ_{u},λ_{c})$ and find an enhanced sensitivity to $λ_{c}$ at the LHeC when compared to the results from the HERA.

Top quark FCNC couplings at future circular hadron electron colliders

A study of single top quark production via flavor changing neutral current interactions at $tqγ$ vertices is performed at future circular hadron electron collider. The signal cross sections for the processes $e^{-}p\to e^{-}W^{\pm}q+X$ and $e^{-}p\to e^{-}W^{\pm}bq+X$ in the collision of electron beam with energy $E_e=$ 60 GeV and proton beam with energy $E_p=$ 50 TeV are calculated. In the analysis, the invariant mass distributions of three jets reconstructing top quark mass, requiring one b-tagged jet and other two jets reconstructing the $W$ mass are used to count signal and background events after all selection cuts. The upper limits on the anomalous flavor changing neutral current $tqγ$ couplings are found to be $λ_q < $ 0.01 at future circular hadron electron collider for $L_{int}=100$ fb$^{-1}$ with the fast simulation of detector effects. Signal significance depending on the couplings $λ_q$ is analyzed and an enhanced sensitivity is found to the branching ratio BR($t\to qγ$) at the future circular hadron electron collider when compared to the current experimental results.

Electron muon identification by atmospheric shower and electron beam in a new concept of an EAS detector

We present results demonstrating the time resolution and $μ$/e separation capabilities with a new concept of an EAS detector capable for measurements of cosmic rays arriving with large zenith angles. This kind of detector has been designed to be a part of a large area (several square kilometers) surface array designed to measure Ultra High Energy (10-200 PeV) $τ$ neutrinos using the Earth-skimming technique. A criteria to identify electron-gammas is also shown and the particle identification capability is tested by measurements in coincidence with the KASKADE-GRANDE experiment in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Discovery of Irradiation Induced Variations in the Light Curve of the Classical Nova Cygni 2001 No.2 (V2275 Cyg)

We present the CCD photometry, light curve and time series analysis of the classical nova V2275 Cyg (N Cyg 2001 No.2). The source was observed for 14 nights in total using an R filter in 2002 and 2003 with the 1.5 m Russian-Turkish joint telescope (RTT150) at the TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey) National Observatory in Antalya Turkey, as part of a large program on the CCD photometry of Cataclysmic Variables (CVs). We report the detection of two distinct periodicities in the light curve of the nova : a) P_1=0.31449(15) d -- 7.6 h, b) P_2=0.017079(17) d -- 24.6 min. The first period is evident in both 2002 and 2003 whereas the second period is only detected in the 2003 data set. We interpret the first period as the orbital period of the system and attribute the orbital variations to aspect changes of the secondary irradiated by the hot WD. We suggest that the nova was a Super Soft X-ray source in 2002 and, perhaps, in 2003. The second period could be a QPO originating from the oscillation of the ionization front (due to a hot WD) below the inner Lagrange point as predicted by King (1989) or a beat frequency in the system as a result of the magnetic nature of the WD if steady accretion has already been re-established.
