On Contributions of Two-Particle Correlation Functions to the Intermittent behavior in Heavy-Ion Collisions

The factorial moments (FM) of the multiplicity distributions in one- and two-dimensions are studied in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 AGeV. Obvious intermittency slopes are observed in the relation between FM and the partition number M. The Bose-Einstein correlations (BEC) are investigated in the emulsion data sample. The influences of the two-particle correlation functions (TPCF) on the scaling behavior of FM are also investigated. The dependence of TPCF on the invariant relative momentum Q as well as on the pseudo-rapidity $δη$ are calculated. It is found that TPCF fulfill the requirements of a power-law scaling comparable with the scaling rule of FM. The expected contributions of TPCD to FM are quantitatively estimated.

On the Deconfinement Phase Transition in Heavy-Ion Collisions

The factorial moments (FM) of multiplicity distribution are used to study the deconfinement phase transition in heavy-ion collisions. The relation between FM and the partition number, $M$, results positive intermittency exponents, $ϕ_q$. According to the signatures suggested from certain statistical models, the two-dimensional results of the dependence of $ϕ_q/ϕ_2$, anomalous fractal, $d_q/d_2$ and Rényi dimensions, ${\cal R}_q/{\cal R}$, and the normalized exponents, $ζ_q$, on the orders of FM evidently supply evidence for the quark-hadron phase transition in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 AGeV.
