Weakly and Strongly Admissible Triplets for a Collatz-Type Map

In this paper, we investigate a class of Collatz-like problems associated with weakly and strongly admissible triplets of integers. This framework extends the classical Collatz mapping, providing a systematic method for generating triplets with convergence to cycles, thereby bypassing the difficulties inherent in solving Diophantine equations. We introduce several special families of admissible triplets and establish general structural properties. In addition, we propose conjectures that generalize the classical Collatz conjecture. Bounds on the lengths of potential non-trivial cycles are derived and analyzed, and two algorithms are presented for computing lower bounds on cycle lengths. Finally, experimental tests are given to illustrate our approach.

An Extension of the Collatz Conjecture modulo $2^p+2^q$

In this paper, we will introduce an extension to the Collatz's conjecture. This conjecture may be seen as a general conjecture that unifies the Collatz one together with many other similar conjectures. For instance, we propose our new conjecture modulo $10$ which may be stated as follows. Starting from any positive integer, if it is a multiple of $10$ then divide it by 10, otherwise, multiply it by $12$, add $8$ times its last digit and divide the result by $10$. Repeat the process infinitely. Regardless the starting number, the process eventually reaches $4$ after a finite number of iterations. The genaral conjecture studied here will encompasse the classical Collatz conjecture togher with our proposed one modulo $10$.

A Fréchet Lie group on distributions

Solving non-autonomous systems of ordinary differential equations leads to consider a new product of bivariate distributions called the $\star$~product in the literature. This product, distinct from the convolution product, has recently been used to establish structural results concerning non-autonomous differential systems, yet its formal underpinnings remain unclear. We demonstrate that it is well-defined on the weak closure of the space of smooth functions on a compact subset of $\mathbb{R}^2$. We establish that a subset of this weak closure has the structure of a Fréchet space $\mathcal{D}$. The $\star$~product arises from the composition of endomorphisms of that space. Invertible elements of $\mathcal{D}$ form a dense subset of it and a Fréchet Lie group for the operation $\star$. This product generalizes the convolution, Volterra compositions of first and second type and induces Schwartz's bracket.

On a general Syracuse problem with conjectures

In this paper, we study a general Syracuse problem. We give some necessary conditions concerning the existence of eventual non trivial cycles. Some properties based on linear logarithmic forms are established. New general conjectures are given. To illustrate the behavior of such a problem, some particular examples are presented.
