Modifications to the pulsar kick velocity due to magnetic interactions in dense plasma

In this work we calculate pulsar kick velocity of magnetized neutron star composed of degenerate quark matter core with non-Fermi liquid (NFL) correction. Both the leading order (LO) and next to leading order (NLO) corrections to the kick velocity have been incorporated. In addition, the NFL corrections to the specific heat of magnetized quark matter have been presented. This has been taken into account to calculate the kick velocity of the neutron star. Results show significant departure from the normal Fermi liquid estimates. The relation between radius and temperature has been shown with kick velocity of $100\, km/s$ with and without NFL corrections.

Heavy quark damping rate in hot viscous QCD plasma

We derive an expression for the heavy quark damping rate in hot quark gluon plasma in presence of flow. Here all the bath particles here are out of equilibrium due to the existence of non-zero velocity gradient. The magnetic sector shows similar infrared divergences even after hard thermal loop corrections as one encounters in case of non-viscous plasma. We estimate the first order correction in ($η/s$) for heavy quark damping rate due to the non-zero viscosity of the QCD plasma.

Non-Fermi liquid behavior of thermal relaxation time in degenerate electron plasma

The thermal relaxation time ($τ_{κ_{ee}}$) for the degenerate electron plasma has been calculated by incorporating non-Fermi liquid (NFL) corrections both for the thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity. Perturbative results are presented by making expansion in $T/m_D$ with next to leading order corrections (NLO). We see that the NLO NFL corrections further reduce the decrease in relaxation time due to the leading order (LO) correction.

Next to leading order non Fermi liquid corrections to the neutrino emissivity and cooling of the neutron star

In this work we derive the expressions of the neutrino mean free path(MFP) and emissivity with non Fermi liquid corrections up to next to leading order(NLO) in degenerate quark matter. The calculation has been performed both for the absorption and scattering processes. Subsequently the role of these NLO corrections on the cooling of the neutron star has been demonstrated. The cooling curve shows moderate enhancement compared to the leading order(LO) non-Fermi liquid result. Although the overall correction to the MFP and emissivity are larger compared to the free Fermi gas, the cooling behavior does not alter significantly.

Non-Fermi liquid behavior of the drag and diffusion coefficients in QED plasma

We calculate the drag and diffusion coefficients in low temperature QED plasma and go beyond the leading order approximation. The non-Fermi-liquid behavior of these coefficients are clearly revealed. We observe that the subleading contributions due to the exchange of soft transverse photon in both cases are larger than the leading order terms coming from the longitudinal sector. The results are presented in closed form at zero and low temperature.

Energy loss due to field fluctuations in a two-stream QCD plasma

We derive the expression for the collisional energy loss in two stream plasma induced by the fluctuating chromoelectric field. It is revealed that the main contribution here comes from the unstable modes which grow exponentially with time. A strong direction dependence of the energy loss has also been demonstrated.

Non-Fermi liquid corrections to the neutrino mean free path in dense quark matter

We calculate the neutrino mean free path with non-Fermi liquid (NFL) corrections in quark matter from scattering and absorption processes for both degenerate and nondegenerate neutrinos. We show that the mean free path decreases due to the non-Fermi liquid corrections leading to $l_{mean}^{-1}\sim[......+ .... C_F^2α_s^2\ln(m_D/T)^2]$. These reduction results in higher rate of scattering.

Radiative energy loss in an anisotropic Quark-Gluon-Plasma

We calculate radiative energy loss of heavy and light quarks in anisotropic medium (static) in first order opacity expansion. Such an anisotropy can result from the initial rapid longitudinal expansion of the matter, created in relativistic heavy ion collisions. Significant dependency of the energy loss on the anisotropy parameter ($ξ$) and the direction of propagation of the partons with respect to the anisotropy axis is found. It is shown that the introduction of early time momentum-space anisotropy can enhance the fractional energy loss in the direction of the anisotropy, whereas it decreases when the parton propagates perpendicular to the direction of the anisotropy.

Energy and momentum relaxation of heavy fermion in dense and warm plasma

We determine the drag and the momentum diffusion coefficients of heavy fermion in dense plasma. It is seen that in degenerate matter drag coefficient at the leading order mediated by transverse photon is proportional to $(E-μ)^2$ while for the longitudinal exchange this goes as $(E-μ)^3$. We also calculate the longitudinal diffusion coefficient to obtain the Einstein relation in a relativistic degenerate plasma. Finally, finite temperature corrections are included both for the drag and the diffusion coefficients.

Symmetric and anti-symmetric Landau parameters and magnetic properties of dense quark matter

We calculate the dimensionless Fermi liquid parameters (FLPs), $F_{0,1}^{sym}$ and $F_{0,1}^{asym}$, for spin asymmetric dense quark matter. In general, the FLPs are infrared divergent due to the exchange of massless gluons. To remove such divergences, the Hard Density Loop (HDL) corrected gluon propagator is used. The FLPs so determined are then invoked to calculate magnetic properties such as magnetization $\langle M\rangle$ and magnetic susceptibility $χ_M$ of spin polarized quark matter. Finally, we investigate the possibility of magnetic instability by studying the density dependence of $\langle M\rangle$ and $χ_M$.

$π$-$η$ mixing and charge symmetry violating NN potential in matter

We construct density dependent Class $III$ charge symmetry violating (CSV) potential due to mixing of $π$-$η$ meson with off-shell corrections. The density dependence enters through the non-vanishing $π$-$η$ mixing driven by both the neutron-proton mass difference and their asymmetric density distribution. The contribution of density dependent CSV potential is found to be appreciably larger than the contribution of vacuum CSV potential.

Spin susceptibility of degenerate quark matter

The expression for the spin susceptibility $χ$ of degenerate quark matter is derived with corrections upto $ {\cal O}(g^4\ln g^2)$. It is shown that at low density, $χ^{-1}$ changes sign and turns negative indicating a ferromagnetic phase transition. To this order, we also calculate sound velocity $c_1$ and incompressibility $K$ with arbitrary spin polarization. The estimated values of $c_1$ and $K$ show that the equation of state of the polarized matter is stiffer than the unpolarized one. Finally we determine the finite temperature corrections to the exchange energy and derive corresponding results for the spin susceptibility.

Matter induced charge symmetry violating NN potential

We construct density dependent Class $III$ charge symmetry violating (CSV) potential due to mixing of $ρ$-$ω$ meson with off-shell corrections. Here in addition to the usual vacuum contribution, the matter induced mixing of $ρ$-$ω$ is also included. It is observed that the contribution of density dependent CSV potential is comparable to that of the vacuum contribution.

Ground state energy of spin polarized quark matter with correlation

We calculate the ground state energy of cold and dense spin polarized quark matter with corrections due to correlation energy $(E_{corr})$. Expressions for $E_{corr}$ both in the non-relativistic and ultra-relativistic regimes have been derived and compared with the exchange and kinetic term present in the perturbation series. It is observed that the inclusion of correlation energy does not rule out the possibility of the ferromagnetic phase transition at low density within the model proposed by Tatsumi\cite{tatsumi00}. We also derive the spin stiffness constant in the high density limit of such a spin polarized matter.

Spin dependent Fermi Liquid parameters and properties of polarized quark matter

We calculate the spin dependent Fermi liquid parameters (FLPs), single particle energies and energy densities of various spin states of polarized quark matter. The expressions for the incompressibility($K$) and sound velocity ($c_1$) in terms of the spin dependent FLPs and polarization parameter $(ξ)$ are derived. Estimated values of $K$ and $c_1$ reveal that the equation of state (EOS) of the polarized matter is stiffer than the unpolarized one. Finally we investigate the possibility of the spin polarization (ferromagnetism) phase transition.

$ρ$-$ω$ mixing and spin dependent CSV potential

We construct the charge symmetry violating (CSV) nucleon-nucleon potential induced by the $ρ^0$-$ø$ mixing due to the neutron-proton mass difference driven by the $NN$ loop. Analytical expression for for the two-body CSV potential is presented containing both the central and non- central $NN$ interaction. We show that the $ρ$$NN$ tensor interaction can significantly enhance the charge symmetry violating $NN$ interaction even if momentum dependent off-shell $ρ^0$-$ω$ mixing amplitude is considered. It is also shown that the inclusion of form factors removes the divergence arising out of the contact interaction. Consequently, we see that the precise size of the computed scattering length difference depends on how the short range aspects of the CSV potential are treated.
