Electromagnetic form factors of vector mesons in Einstein-dilaton holographic QCD

We investigate the electromagnetic form factors of the $ρ$ meson family within a holographic QCD framework based on Einstein-dilaton gravity with confining backgrounds. We obtain the elastic and transition form factors using a spectral decomposition of the three-point isospin current correlator and an independent approach based on the Kaluza-Klein expansion. Furthermore, we establish a holographic dictionary of the current matrix element. The elastic form factors are in agreement with available lattice QCD results, whereas the transition form factors, not yet determined within lattice QCD, are predictions of the model. For the elastic case, the electric form factor for the $ρ$ meson family exhibits a zero at $q^{2} = 6\, m_{ρ^{n}}^{2}$ and in particular for the ground state $q^{2} = 3.61\,\text{GeV}^{2}$, consistent with light-front and Dyson-Schwinger calculations. We also compute strong couplings between vector meson states and find some approximate selection rules. In the elastic case and low-$q^{2}$ regime, we calculate dimensionless electric radius, magnetic and quadrupole moments and compare with other approaches. In the high-$q^{2}$ regime, the form factors follow the expected scaling behavior, and the model predicts their asymptotic normalization. The results in the high-$q^{2}$ regime lead to superconvergence relations and establish a new sum rule involving masses, decay constants and couplings.

Nucleon spectra and wave functions from holographic models with dual Einstein-dilaton and Starobinsky-dilaton gravities

We study the nucleon spectra in two holographic set-ups: Einstein-dilaton and Starobinsky-dilaton gravity models. The Einstein-dilaton holographic model, also known as improved holographic QCD, have been proposed some time ago to describe confinement and glueball spectra. Recently, it has been applied to the case of mesons and nucleons. In this work, we reconsider the Einstein-dilaton holographic model to discuss the nucleon spectra introducing new parameters that allow us to improve the comparison with experimental data. Then, we extend this idea to the context of Starobinsky-dilaton gravity defining another improved holographic model. We use this new holographic model to reanalyse the nucleon spectra and also compare them with soft-wall model and experimental data.

Vector mesons from a holographic QCD model in $f(R)$-dilaton gravity

In this paper we investigate the spectrum and decay constants of vector mesons based on $f(R)$-dilaton gravity. We focus particularly on the well-known Starobinsky model, given by the function $f(R)= R+ αR^2$ in the metric formalism, and we examine the deviations from the pure Einstein-dilaton case. We thus provide the field equations for Starobinsky-dilaton gravity in $\rm AdS_{5}$ spacetime and calculate the spectral decomposition of the vector mesons by means of a Sturm-Liouville problem. Remarkably, for the rho mesons $m_{ρ^2}$ and $m_{ρ^3}$, our results are in good agreement with the experimental data when $α= 10^{-8}$. Our work also generalizes previous studies and recovers standard results when $α= 0$.

Nucleons and vector mesons in a confining holographic QCD model

We present a simple holographic QCD model that provides a unified description of vector mesons and nucleons in a confining background based on Einstein-dilaton gravity. For the confining background we consider analytical solutions of the Einstein-dilaton equations where the dilaton is a quadratic function of the radial coordinate far from the boundary. We build actions for the 5d gauge field and the 5d Dirac field dual to the 4d flavor current and the 4d nucleon interpolator respectively. In order to obtain asymptotically linear Regge trajectories we impose for each sector the condition that the effective Schrödinger equation has a potential that grows quadratically in the radial coordinate far from the boundary. For the vector mesons we show that this condition is automatically satisfied by a 5d Yang-Mills action minimally coupled to the metric and the dilaton. For the nucleons we find that the mass term of the 5d Dirac action needs to be generalised to include couplings to the metric and the dilaton. Using Sturm-Liouville theory we obtain a spectral decomposition for the hadronic correlators consistent with large $N_c$ QCD. Our setup contains only three parameters: the mass scale associated with confinement, the 5d gauge coupling and the 5d Dirac coupling. The last two are completely fixed by matching the correlators at high energies to perturbative QCD. We calculate masses and decay constants and compare our results against available experimental data. Our model can be thought of as a consistent embedding of soft wall models in Einstein-dilaton gravity.
