Non-commutative q-Painleve VI equation

By applying suitable centrality condition to non-commutative non-isospectral lattice modified Gel'fand-Dikii type systems we obtain the corresponding non-autonomous equations. Then we derive non-commutative q-discrete Painleve VI equation with full range of parameters as the (2,2) similarity reduction of the non-commutative, non-isospectral and non-autonomous lattice modified Korteweg-de Vries equation. We also comment on the fact that in making the analogous reduction starting from Schwarzian Korteweg-de Vries equation no such "non-isospectral generalization" is needed.

Non-commutative rational Yang-Baxter maps

Starting from multidimensional consistency of non-commutative lattice modified Gel'fand-Dikii systems we present the corresponding solutions of the functional (set-theoretic) Yang-Baxter equation, which are non-commutative versions of the maps arising from geometric crystals. Our approach works under additional condition of centrality of certain products of non-commuting variables. Then we apply such a restriction on the level of the Gel'fand-Dikii systems what allows to obtain non-autonomous (but with central non-autonomous factors) versions of the equations. In particular we recover known non-commutative version of Hirota's lattice sine-Gordon equation, and we present an integrable non-commutative and non-autonomous lattice modified Boussinesq equation.

Desargues maps and their reductions

We present recent developments on geometric theory of the Hirota system and of the non-commutative discrete Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy adding also some new results which make the picture more complete. We pay special attention to multidimensional consistency of the Desargues maps and of the resulting non-linear non-commutative systems. In particular, we show three-dimensional consistency of the non-commutative KP map in its edge formulation. We discuss also relation of Desargues maps and quadrilateral lattice maps. We study from that point of view reductions of the Hirota system to discrete B-KP and C-KP systems presenting also a novel constraint which leads to the Miwa equations. By imposing periodicity reduction of the discrete KP hierarchy we obtain non-isospectral versions of the modified lattice Gel'fand-Dikii equations. To close the picture from below, we apply additional self-similarity constraint on the non-isospectral non-autonomous modified lattice Korteweg-de Vries system to recover known q-Painleve equation of type A_2+A_1.

Non-commutative lattice modified Gel'fand-Dikii systems

We introduce integrable multicomponent non-commutative lattice systems, which can be considered as analogs of the modified Gel'fand-Dikii hierarchy. We present the corresponding systems of Lax pairs and we show directly multidimensional consistency of these Gel'fand-Dikii type equations. We demonstrate how the systems can be obtained as periodic reductions of the non-commutative lattice Kadomtsev-Petviashvilii hierarchy. The geometric description of the hierarchy in terms of Desargues maps helps to derive non-isospectral generalization of the non-commutative lattice modified Gel'fand-Dikii systems. We show also how arbitrary functions of single arguments appear naturally in our approach when making commutative reductions, which we illustrate on the non-isospectral non-autonomous versions of the lattice modified Korteweg-de Vries and Boussinesq systems.

Hirota equation and the quantum plane

We discuss geometric integrability of Hirota's discrete KP equation in the framework of projective geometry over division rings using the recently introduced notion of Desargues maps. We also present the Darboux-type transformations, and we review symmetries of the Desargues maps from the point of view of root lattices of type A and the action of the corresponding affine Weyl group. Such a point of view facilities to study the relation of Desargues maps and the discrete conjugate nets. Recent investigation of geometric integrability of Desargues maps allowed to introduce two maps satisfying functional pentagon equation. Moreover, the ultra-locality requirement imposed on the maps leads to Weyl commutation relations. We show that the pentagonal property of the maps allows to define a coproduct in the quantum plane bi-algebra, which can be extended to the corresponding Hopf algebra.

The affine Weyl group symmetry of Desargues maps and of the non-commutative Hirota-Miwa system

We study recently introduced Desargues maps, which provide simple geometric interpretation of the non-commutative Hirota--Miwa system. We characterize them as maps of the A-type root lattice into a projective space such that images of vertices of any basic regular N-simplex are collinear. Such a characterization is manifestly invariant with respect to the corresponding affine Weyl group action, which leads to related symmetries of the Hirota--Miwa system.

Desargues maps and the Hirota-Miwa equation

We study the Desargues maps $ϕ:\ZZ^N\to\PP^M$, which generate lattices whose points are collinear with all their nearest (in positive directions) neighbours. The multidimensional compatibility of the map is equivalent to the Desargues theorem and its higher-dimensional generalizations. The nonlinear counterpart of the map is the non-commutative (in general) Hirota--Miwa system. In the commutative case of the complex field we apply the nonlocal $\bar\partial$-dressing method to construct Desargues maps and the corresponding solutions of the equation. In particular, we identify the Fredholm determinant of the integral equation inverting the nonlocal $\bar\partial$-dressing problem with the $τ$-function. Finally, we establish equivalence between the Desargues maps and quadrilateral lattices provided we take into consideration also their Laplace transforms.

Darboux transformations for linear operators on two dimensional regular lattices

Darboux transformations for linear operators on regular two dimensional lattices are reviewed. The six point scheme is considered as the master linear problem, whose various specifications, reductions, and their sublattice combinations lead to other linear operators together with the corresponding Darboux transformations. The second part of the review deals with multidimensional aspects of (basic reductions of) the four point scheme, as well as the three point scheme.

On $τ$-function of the quadrilateral lattice

We investigate the $τ$-function of the quadrilateral lattice using the nonlocal $\bar\partial$-dressing method, and we show that it can be identified with the Fredholm determinant of the integral equation which naturally appears within that approach.

Geometric algebra and quadrilateral lattices

Motivated by the fundamental results of the geometric algebra we study quadrilateral lattices in projective spaces over division rings. After giving the noncommutative discrete Darboux equations we discuss differences and similarities with the commutative case. Then we consider the fundamental transformation of such lattices in the vectorial setting and we show the corresponding permutability theorems. We discuss also the possibility of obtaining in a similar spirit a noncommutative version of the B-(Moutard) quadrilateral lattices.

The C-(symmetric) quadrilateral lattice, its transformations and the algebro-geometric construction

The C-quadrilateral lattice (CQL), called also the symmetric lattice, provides geometric interpretation of the discrete CKP equation within the quadrilateral lattice (QL) theory. We discuss affine-geometric properties of the lattice emphasizing the role of the Gallucci theorem in the multidimensional consistency of the CQL. Then we give the algebro-geometric construction of the lattice. We also present the reduction of the vectorial fundamental transformation of the QL to the CQL case. In the Appendix we show a relation between the QL and the so called Darboux maps.

Integrable dynamics of Toda-type on the square and triangular lattices

In a recent paper we constructed an integrable generalization of the Toda law on the square lattice. In this paper we construct other examples of integrable dynamics of Toda-type on the square lattice, as well as on the triangular lattice, as nonlinear symmetries of the discrete Laplace equations on the square and triangular lattices. We also construct the $τ$ - function formulations and the Darboux-Bäcklund transformations of these novel dynamics.

Generalized isothermic lattices

We study multidimensional quadrilateral lattices satisfying simultaneously two integrable constraints: a quadratic constraint and the projective Moutard constraint. When the lattice is two dimensional and the quadric under consideration is the Moebius sphere one obtains, after the stereographic projection, the discrete isothermic surfaces defined by Bobenko and Pinkall by an algebraic constraint imposed on the (complex) cross-ratio of the circular lattice. We derive the analogous condition for our generalized isthermic lattices using Steiner's projective structure of conics and we present basic geometric constructions which encode integrability of the lattice. In particular, we introduce the Darboux transformation of the generalized isothermic lattice and we derive the corresponding Bianchi permutability principle. Finally, we study two dimensional generalized isothermic lattices, in particular geometry of their initial boundary value problem.

The B-quadrilateral lattice, its transformations and the algebro-geometric construction

The B-quadrilateral lattice (BQL) provides geometric interpretation of Miwa's discrete BKP equation within the quadrialteral lattice (QL) theory. After discussing the projective-geometric properties of the lattice we give the algebro-geometric construction of the BQL ephasizing the role of Prym varieties and the corresponding theta functions. We also present the reduction of the vectorial fundamental transformation of the QL to the BQL case.

On $τ$-function of conjugate nets

We study a potential introduced by Darboux to describe conjugate nets, which within the modern theory of integrable systems can be interpreted as a $τ$-function. We investigate the potential using the non-local $\bar\partial$ dressing method of Manakov and Zakharov, and we show that it can be interpreted as the Fredholm determinant of an integral equation which naturally appears within that approach. Finally, we give some arguments extending that interpretation to multicomponent Kadomtsev-Petviashvili hierarchy.

The normal dual congruences and the dual Bianchi lattice

The main goal of this paper is to find the discrete analogue of the Bianchi system in spaces of arbitrary dimesion together with its geometric interpretation. We show that the proper geometric framework of such generalization is the language of dual quadrilateral lattices and of dual congruences. After introducing the notion of the dual Koenigs lattice in a projective space of arbitrary dimension we define the discrete dual congruences and we present, as an important example, the normal dual discrete congruences. Finally, we introduce the dual Bianchi lattice as a dual Koenigs lattice allowing for a conjugate normal dual congruence, and we find its characterization in terms of a system of integrable difference equations.

The Hirota equation over finite fields. Algebro-geometric approach and multisoliton solutions

We consider the Hirota equation (the discrete analog of the generalized Toda system) over a finite field. We present the general algebro-geometric method of construction of solutions of the equation. As an example we construct analogs of the multisoliton solutions for which the wave functions and the $τ$-function can be found using rational functions. Within the class of multisoliton solutions we isolate generalized breather-type solutions which have no direct counterparts in the complex field case.

Geometric discretization of the Koenigs nets

We introduce the Koenigs lattice, which is a new integrable reduction of the quadrilateral lattice (discrete conjugate net) and provides natural integrable discrete analogue of the Koenigs net. We construct the Darboux-type transformations of the Koenigs lattice and we show permutability of superpositions of such transformations, thus proving integrability of the Koenigs lattice. We also investigate the geometry of the discrete Koenigs transformation. In particular we characterize the Koenigs transformation in terms of an involution determined by a congruence conjugate to the lattice.
