Harmonic forms and generalized solitons

For a generalized soliton $(g,ξ,η,β,γ,δ)$, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the dual $1$-form $ξ^{\flat}$ of the potential vector field $ξ$ to be a solution of the Schrödinger-Ricci equation, a harmonic or a Schrödinger-Ricci harmonic form. We also characterize the $1$-forms orthogonal to $ξ^{\flat}$, underlying the results obtained for the Ricci and Yamabe solitons. Further, we formulate the results for the case of gradient generalized solitons. Several applications and examples are also presented.

Gradient solitons on doubly warped product manifolds

Firstly we provide new characterizations for doubly warped product manifolds. Then we consider several types of gradient solitons on them such as Riemann, Ricci, Yamabe and conformal and examine the effect of a gradient soliton on a doubly warped product to its factor manifolds. Finally we investigate the concircularly flat and conharmonically flat cases of doubly warped products.

Gradient solitons on statistical manifolds

We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for some particular couples $(g,\nabla)$ of pseudo-Riemannian metrics and affine connections to be statistical structures if we have gradient almost Einstein, almost Ricci, almost Yamabe solitons, or a more general type of solitons on the manifold. In particular cases, we establish a formula for the volume of the manifold and give a lower and an upper bound for the norm of the Ricci curvature tensor field.

Remarks on Einstein solitons with certain types of potential vector field

We consider almost Einstein solitons $(V,λ)$ in a Riemannian manifold when $V$ is a gradient, a solenoidal or a concircular vector field. We explicitly express the function $λ$ by means of the gradient vector field $V$ and illustrate the result with suitable examples. Moreover, we deduce some geometric properties when the Ricci curvature tensor of the manifold satisfies certain symmetry conditions.

Geometric solitons in a $D$-homothetically deformed Kenmotsu manifold

We consider almost Riemann and almost Ricci solitons in a $D$-homothetically deformed Kenmotsu manifold having as potential vector field a gradient vector field, a solenoidal vector field or the Reeb vector field of the deformed structure, and explicitly obtain the Ricci and scalar curvatures for some cases. We also provide a lower bound for the Ricci curvature of the initial Kenmotsu manifold when the deformed manifold admits a gradient almost Riemann or almost Ricci soliton.

Remarks on almost Riemann solitons with gradient or torse-forming vector field

We consider almost Riemann solitons $(V,λ)$ in a Riemannian manifold and underline their relation to almost Ricci solitons. When $V$ is of gradient type, using Bochner formula, we explicitly express the function $λ$ by means of the gradient vector field $V$ and illustrate the result with suitable examples. Moreover, we deduce some properties for the particular cases when the potential vector field of the soliton is solenoidal or torse-forming, with a special view towards curvature.

Almost $η$-Ricci and almost $η$-Yamabe solitons with torse-forming potential vector field

We provide properties of almost $η$-Ricci and almost $η$-Yamabe solitons on submanifolds isometrically immersed into a Riemannian manifold $\left(\widetilde{M},\widetilde{g} \right)$ whose potential vector field is the tangential component of a torse-forming vector field on $\widetilde{M}$, treating also the case of a minimal or pseudo quasi-umbilical hypersurface. Moreover, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for an orientable hypersurface of the unit sphere to be an almost $η$-Ricci or an almost $η$-Yamabe soliton in terms of the second fundamental tensor field.

On warped product gradient $η$-Ricci solitons

If the potential vector field of an $η$-Ricci soliton is of gradient type, using Bochner formula, we derive from the soliton equation a Laplacian equation satisfied by the potential function $f$. In a particular case of irrotational potential vector field we prove that the soliton is completely determined by $f$. We give a way to construct a gradient $η$-Ricci soliton on a warped product manifold and show that if the base manifold is oriented, compact and of constant scalar curvature, the soliton on the product manifold gives a lower bound for its scalar curvature.

A note on warped product almost quasi-Yamabe solitons

We consider almost quasi-Yamabe solitons in Riemannian manifolds, derive a Bochner-type formula in the gradient case and prove that under certain assumptions, the manifold is of constant scalar curvature. We also provide necessary and sufficient conditions for a gradient almost quasi-Yamabe soliton on the base manifold to induce a gradient almost quasi-Yamabe soliton on the warped product manifold.

Solitons and geometrical structures in a perfect fluid spacetime

Geometrical aspects of a perfect fluid spacetime are described in terms of different curvature tensors and $η$-Ricci and $η$-Einstein solitons in a perfect fluid spacetime are determined. Conditions for the Ricci soliton to be steady, expanding or shrinking are also given. In a particular case when the potential vector field $ξ$ of the soliton is of gradient type, $ξ:=grad(f)$, we derive a Poisson equation from the soliton equation.

Almost $η$-Ricci solitons in $(LCS)_n$-manifolds

We consider almost $η$-Ricci solitons in $(LCS)_n$-manifolds satisfying certain curvature conditions. We provide a lower and an upper bound for the norm of the Ricci curvature in the gradient case, derive a Bochner-type formula for an almost $η$-Ricci soliton and state some consequences of it on an $(LCS)_n$-manifold.

Harmonic aspects in an $η$-Ricci soliton

We characterize $η$-Ricci solitons $(g,ξ,λ,μ)$ in some special cases when the $1$-form $η$, which is the $g$-dual of $ξ$, is a harmonic or a Schrödinger-Ricci harmonic form. We also provide necessary and sufficient conditions for $η$ to be a solution of the Schrödinger-Ricci equation and point out the relation between the three notions in our context. In particular, we apply these results to a perfect fluid spacetime and using Bochner- Weitzenböck techniques, we formulate some more conclusions for gradient solitons and deduce topological properties of the manifold and its universal covering.

$α$-connections in generalized geometry

We consider a family of $α$-connections defined by a pair of generalized dual quasi-statistical connections $(\hat{\nabla},\hat{\nabla}^*)$ on the generalized tangent bundle $(TM\oplus T^*M, \check{h})$ and determine their curvature, Ricci curvature and scalar curvature. Moreover, we provide the necessary and sufficient condition for $\hat \nabla^*$ to be an equiaffine connection and we prove that if $h$ is symmetric and $\nabla h=0$, then $(TM\oplus T^*M, \check{h}, \hat{\nabla}^{(α)}, \hat{\nabla}^{(-α)})$ is a conjugate Ricci-symmetric manifold. Also, we characterize the integrability of a generalized almost product, of a generalized almost complex and of a generalized metallic structure w.r.t. the bracket defined by the $α$-connection. Finally we study $α$-connections defined by the twin metric of a pseudo-Riemannian manifold, $(M,g)$, with a non-degenerate $g$-symmetric $(1,1)$-tensor field $J$ such that $d^\nabla J=0$, where $\nabla$ is the Levi-Civita connection of $g$.

Harmonic metallic structures

The concept of harmonic metallic structure on a metallic pseudo-Riemannian manifold is introduced. In the case of compact manifolds we prove that harmonicity of a metallic structure $J$, with $J^2=pJ+qI$ and $p^2+4q\neq 0$, is equivalent to $dJ=0$. Conditions for a harmonic metallic structure to be preserved by harmonic maps are also given. Moreover, we consider harmonic metallic structures on the generalized tangent bundle, provide a Weitzenböck formula for the dual metallic structure and express the Hodge-Laplace operator on $TM \oplus T^*M$.

Foliations induced by metallic structures

We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the real distributions defined by a metallic pseudo-Riemannian structure to be integrable and geodesically invariant, in terms of associated tensor fields to the metallic structures and of adapted connections. In the integrable case, we prove a Chen-type inequality for these distributions and provide conditions for a metallic map to preserve these distributions. If the structure is metallic Norden, we describe the complex metallic distributions in the same spirit.

Generalized quasi-statistical structures

Given a non-degenerate $(0,2)$-tensor field $h$ on a smooth manifold $M$, we consider a natural generalized complex and a generalized product structure on the generalized tangent bundle $TM\oplus T^*M$ of $M$ and we show that they are $\nabla$-integrable, for $\nabla$ an affine connection on $M$, if and only if $(M,h,\nabla)$ is a quasi-statistical manifold. We introduce the notion of generalized quasi-statistical structure and we prove that any quasi-statistical structure on $M$ induces generalized quasi-statistical structures on $TM\oplus T^*M$. In this context, dual connections are considered and some of their properties are established. The results are described in terms of Patterson-Walker and Sasaki metrics on $T^*M$, horizontal lift and Sasaki metrics on $TM$ and, when the connection $\nabla$ is flat, we define prolongation of quasi-statistical structures on manifolds to their cotangent and tangent bundles via generalized geometry. Moreover, Norden and Para-Norden structures are defined on $T^*M$ and $TM$.
