Explicit isomorphisms for a Herr-type complex over a metabelian extension

Let $S$ be a Banach algebra over $\mathbb{Q}_p$ whose residue fields are finite extensions of $\mathbb{Q}_p$. Given an arithmetic family $V$ of Galois representations, i.e., a finite free $S$-module $V$ with a continuous action of the absolute Galois group of a $p$-adic number field, we construct a complex associated to $V$ over false-Tate extensions and construct explicit isomorphisms between its cohomology and the Galois cohomology. This recovers earlier results by Tavares Ribeiro when $S$ is a finite extension of $\mathbb{Q}_p$.

Unveiling Arithmetic Statistics of Congruent Number Elliptic Curves via Data Science and Machine Learning

This article presents a comprehensive data-scientific investigation into the arithmetic statistics of congruent number elliptic curves, leveraging a dataset of square-free integers up to $3$ million. We analyze the Mordell-Weil ranks, 2-Selmer ranks, and 3-Selmer ranks of the corresponding elliptic curves $E_D: y^2 = x^3 - D^2x$, where $D$ is a square-free number. Our study empirically examines the Heath-Brown heuristics, which predict the distribution of $2$-Selmer ranks as well as congruent numbers based on their residue modulo $8$. In particular, offering statistical insights into the proportion of numbers whose associated elliptic curves have positive rank. We provide a rigorous verification of Goldfeld's Conjecture in this context, analyzing the distribution of analytic ranks and demonstrating their alignment with the conjectured $50/50$ split for ranks $0$ and $1$. Furthermore, we explore the conjectural asymptotic distribution of $2-$ and $3$-torsion part of the Tate-Shafarevich group of these curves. Based on empirical evidence, we also suggest potential statistical distribution of $3$-Selmer and Mordell-Weil ranks. We also examine the averages of Frobenius traces and observe that they tend to zero without exhibiting any murmuration-like patterns. In addition to these number-theoretic analyses, we apply machine learning techniques to classify and predict congruent numbers, exploring the efficacy of computational methods in distinguishing congruent from non-congruent numbers based on the arithmetic properties of elliptic curves. This interdisciplinary approach blends advanced number theory with modern data science, providing empirical support for conjectures as well as discovery of new patterns.

On the Iwasawa invariants of Artin representations

We study Iwasawa invariants associated to Selmer groups of Artin representations, and criteria for the vanishing of the associated algebraic Iwasawa invariants. The conditions obtained can be used to study natural distribution questions in this context.

Families of Galois representations and $(φ, τ)$-modules

Let $p$ be a prime, and let $K$ be a finite extension of $\mathbf{Q}_p$, with absolute Galois group $\cal{G}_K$. Let $π$ be a uniformizer of $K$ and let $K_\infty$ be the Kummer extension obtained by adjoining to $K$ a system of compatible $p^n$-th roots of $π$, for all $n$, and let $L$ be the Galois closure of $K_\infty$. Using these extensions, Caruso has constructed étale $(φ,τ)$-modules, which classify $p$-adic Galois representations of $K$. In this paper, we use locally analytic vectors and theories of families of $φ$-modules over Robba rings to prove the overconvergence of $(φ,τ)$-modules in families. As examples, we also compute some explicit families of $(φ,τ)$-modules in some simple cases.

Level-raising for automorphic forms on $GL_n$

Let $E$ be a CM number field and $F$ its maximal real subfield. We prove a level-raising result for regular algebraic conjugate self-dual automorphic representations of $GL_n(\mathbb{A}_E)$. This generalizes previously known results of Thorne by removing certain hypotheses occurring in that work. In particular, the level-raising prime $p$ is allowed to be unramified as opposed to inert in $F$, the field $E/F$ is not assumed to be everywhere unramified, and the field $E$ is allowed to be a general CM field.
