Non-Uniform Quantisation for 3DGS Compression

3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has emerged as a powerful technique for novel view synthesis, yet its high bitrate requirements pose significant challenges for storage and transmission. To enable practical applications and ensure interoperability within the 3DGS ecosystem, standardised compression formats are essential. In this paper, we propose a novel non-uniform quantisation scheme specifically tailored for 3DGS models. Our approach adapts to the underlying data distribution by applying importance-weighted quantisation and eliminating post-voxelisation redundancy through importance weighted merging. Extensive evaluations on benchmark datasets demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art compression performance. Furthermore, the proposed scheme is compatible with any point-cloud-based representation and is intended as a formal contribution to the upcoming MPEG 3DGS compression standardisation activities.

Improving Spatio-Temporal Residual Error Propagation by Mitigating Over-Squashing

Residual error propagation remains a fundamental problem in recurrent models, where small prediction inaccuracies compound over time and degrade long-horizon performance. Accurately modeling the correlation structure of such residuals is critical for reliable uncertainty quantification in probabilistic multivariate timeseries forecasting. While recent time-series deep models efficiently parametrize time-varying contemporaneous correlations, they often assume temporal independence of errors and neglect spatial correlation across the observed network. In this paper, we introduce Teger, a structured uncertainty module that overcomes the spa- tial and temporal limitations of error-correlated autoregressive forecasting. Teger proposes a spatial curvature-aware graph rewiring mechanism explicitly strengthening information-bottleneck edges identified by discrete Forman curvature. The component is integrated into a low-rank-plus-diagonal covariance head, preserving tractable inference via the Woodbury identity. Teger is backbone-agnostic, requiring only the latent state produced by any autoregressive encoder. We provide theoretical evidence of Teger, and experimentally evaluate it on LSTM, Transformer, and xLSTM backbones across four real-world spatio-temporal datasets, showing consistent improvement in Continuous Ranked Probability Score (CRPS). We further provide a formal theoretical analysis connecting curvature-aware rewiring to (i) oversquashing alleviation, (ii) improved spectral connectivity, (iii) reduced effective resistance, and (iv) improved covariance calibration bounds

FlowS: One-Step Motion Prediction via Local Transport Conditioning

Generative motion prediction must satisfy three simultaneous requirements for real-world autonomy: high accuracy, diverse multimodal futures, and strictly bounded latency. Diffusion models meet the first two but violate the third, requiring tens to hundreds of denoising steps. We identify a conditioning strategy that resolves this tension: \textit{single-step integration is accurate when the underlying transport problem is local}. A model that must both discover the correct behavioral mode and traverse a long displacement in one step accumulates large discretization errors; conditioning the base distribution to lie near plausible futures reduces the problem to short-range refinement, the regime where a single Euler step suffices. We instantiate this \emph{local transport conditioning} in FlowS, a conditional flow matching framework with two mechanisms. First, an online, scene-conditioned learned prior emits $K$ calibrated anchor trajectories per agent, each already near a plausible future, converting mode discovery into local correction. Second, a step-consistent displacement field enforces semigroup self-consistency, guaranteeing that a single step inherits multi-step accuracy. Crucially, anchoring this field at learned priors along straight-line paths yields a {stable, low-variance} training target, unlike prior self-consistency methods that suffer from {high-variance bootstrap} signals on curved diffusion paths. On the Waymo Open Motion Dataset, FlowS achieves state-of-the-art Soft mAP {(0.4804) and mAP (0.4703) with ensemble at 75\,FPS} with single-step inference, demonstrating that local transport conditioning makes one-step generative motion prediction practical for safety-critical autonomy. Code and pretrained models will be released upon acceptance.

Fourier Splatting: Generalized Fourier encoded primitives for scalable radiance fields

Novel view synthesis has recently been revolutionized by 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), which enables real-time rendering through explicit primitive rasterization. However, existing methods tie visual fidelity strictly to the number of primitives: quality downscaling is achieved only through pruning primitives. We propose the first inherently scalable primitive for radiance field rendering. Fourier Splatting employs scalable primitives with arbitrary closed shapes obtained by parameterizing planar surfels with Fourier encoded descriptors. This formulation allows a single trained model to be rendered at varying levels of detail simply by truncating Fourier coefficients at runtime. To facilitate stable optimization, we employ a straight-through estimator for gradient extension beyond the primitive boundary, and introduce HYDRA, a densification strategy that decomposes complex primitives into simpler constituents within the MCMC framework. Our method achieves state-of-the-art rendering quality among planar-primitive frameworks and comparable perceptual metrics compared to leading volumetric representations on standard benchmarks, providing a versatile solution for bandwidth-constrained high-fidelity rendering.

FreqFlow: Long-term forecasting using lightweight flow matching

Multivariate time-series (MTS) forecasting is fundamental to applications ranging from urban mobility and resource management to climate modeling. While recent generative models based on denoising diffusion have advanced state-of-the-art performance in capturing complex data distributions, they suffer from significant computational overhead due to iterative stochastic sampling procedures that limit real-time deployment. Moreover, these models can be brittle when handling high-dimensional, non-stationary, and multi-scale periodic patterns characteristic of real-world sensor networks. We introduce FreqFlow, a novel framework that leverages conditional flow matching in the frequency domain for deterministic MTS forecasting. Unlike conventional approaches that operate in the time domain, FreqFlow transforms the forecasting problem into the spectral domain, where it learns to model amplitude and phase shifts through a single complex-valued linear layer. This frequency-domain formulation enables the model to efficiently capture temporal dynamics via complex multiplication, corresponding to scaling and temporal translations. The resulting architecture is exceptionally lightweight with only 89k parameters - an order of magnitude smaller than competing diffusion-based models-while enabling single-pass deterministic sampling through ordinary differential equation (ODE) integration. Our approach decomposes MTS signals into trend, seasonal, and residual components, with the flow matching mechanism specifically designed for residual learning to enhance long-term forecasting accuracy. Extensive experiments on real-world traffic speed, volume, and flow datasets demonstrate that FreqFlow achieves state-of-the-art forecasting performance, on average 7\% RMSE improvements, while being significantly faster and more parameter-efficient than existing methods

ReferGPT: Towards Zero-Shot Referring Multi-Object Tracking

Tracking multiple objects based on textual queries is a challenging task that requires linking language understanding with object association across frames. Previous works typically train the whole process end-to-end or integrate an additional referring text module into a multi-object tracker, but they both require supervised training and potentially struggle with generalization to open-set queries. In this work, we introduce ReferGPT, a novel zero-shot referring multi-object tracking framework. We provide a multi-modal large language model (MLLM) with spatial knowledge enabling it to generate 3D-aware captions. This enhances its descriptive capabilities and supports a more flexible referring vocabulary without training. We also propose a robust query-matching strategy, leveraging CLIP-based semantic encoding and fuzzy matching to associate MLLM generated captions with user queries. Extensive experiments on Refer-KITTI, Refer-KITTIv2 and Refer-KITTI+ demonstrate that ReferGPT achieves competitive performance against trained methods, showcasing its robustness and zero-shot capabilities in autonomous driving. HybridTrack: A Hybrid Approach for Robust Multi-Object Tracking

The evolution of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) has increased the need for robust and generalizable algorithms for multi-object tracking. Traditional statistical model-based tracking methods rely on predefined motion models and assumptions about system noise distributions. Although computationally efficient, they often lack adaptability to varying traffic scenarios and require extensive manual design and parameter tuning. To address these issues, we propose a novel 3D multi-object tracking approach for vehicles, HybridTrack, which integrates a data-driven Kalman Filter (KF) within a tracking-by-detection paradigm. In particular, it learns the transition residual and Kalman gain directly from data, which eliminates the need for manual motion and stochastic parameter modeling. Validated on the real-world KITTI dataset, HybridTrack achieves 82.72% HOTA accuracy, significantly outperforming state-of-the-art methods. We also evaluate our method under different configurations, achieving the fastest processing speed of 112 FPS. Consequently, HybridTrack eliminates the dependency on scene-specific designs while improving performance and maintaining real-time efficiency. The code is publicly available at: https://github.com/leandro-svg/HybridTrack.

Strada-LLM: Graph LLM for traffic prediction

Traffic forecasting is pivotal for intelligent transportation systems, where accurate and interpretable predictions can significantly enhance operational efficiency and safety. A key challenge stems from the heterogeneity of traffic conditions across diverse locations, leading to highly varied traffic data distributions. Large language models (LLMs) show exceptional promise for few-shot learning in such dynamic and data-sparse scenarios. However, existing LLM-based solutions often rely on prompt-tuning, which can struggle to fully capture complex graph relationships and spatiotemporal dependencies-thereby limiting adaptability and interpretability in real-world traffic networks. We address these gaps by introducing Strada-LLM, a novel multivariate probabilistic forecasting LLM that explicitly models both temporal and spatial traffic patterns. By incorporating proximal traffic information as covariates, Strada-LLM more effectively captures local variations and outperforms prompt-based existing LLMs. To further enhance adaptability, we propose a lightweight distribution-derived strategy for domain adaptation, enabling parameter-efficient model updates when encountering new data distributions or altered network topologies-even under few-shot constraints. Empirical evaluations on spatio-temporal transportation datasets demonstrate that Strada-LLM consistently surpasses state-of-the-art LLM-driven and traditional GNN-based predictors. Specifically, it improves long-term forecasting by 17% in RMSE error and 16% more efficiency. Moreover, it maintains robust performance across different LLM backbones with minimal degradation, making it a versatile and powerful solution for real-world traffic prediction tasks.

ProtoSeg: A Prototype-Based Point Cloud Instance Segmentation Method

3D instance segmentation is crucial for obtaining an understanding of a point cloud scene. This paper presents a novel neural network architecture for performing instance segmentation on 3D point clouds. We propose to jointly learn coefficients and prototypes in parallel which can be combined to obtain the instance predictions. The coefficients are computed using an overcomplete set of sampled points with a novel multi-scale module, dubbed dilated point inception. As the set of obtained instance mask predictions is overcomplete, we employ a non-maximum suppression algorithm to retrieve the final predictions. This approach allows to omit the time-expensive clustering step and leads to a more stable inference time. The proposed method is not only 28% faster than the state-of-the-art, it also exhibits the lowest standard deviation. Our experiments have shown that the standard deviation of the inference time is only 1.0% of the total time while it ranges between 10.8 and 53.1% for the state-of-the-art methods. Lastly, our method outperforms the state-of-the-art both on S3DIS-blocks (4.9% in mRec on Fold-5) and PartNet (2.0% on average in mAP).

RESSCAL3D++: Joint Acquisition and Semantic Segmentation of 3D Point Clouds

3D scene understanding is crucial for facilitating seamless interaction between digital devices and the physical world. Real-time capturing and processing of the 3D scene are essential for achieving this seamless integration. While existing approaches typically separate acquisition and processing for each frame, the advent of resolution-scalable 3D sensors offers an opportunity to overcome this paradigm and fully leverage the otherwise wasted acquisition time to initiate processing. In this study, we introduce VX-S3DIS, a novel point cloud dataset accurately simulating the behavior of a resolution-scalable 3D sensor. Additionally, we present RESSCAL3D++, an important improvement over our prior work, RESSCAL3D, by incorporating an update module and processing strategy. By applying our method to the new dataset, we practically demonstrate the potential of joint acquisition and semantic segmentation of 3D point clouds. Our resolution-scalable approach significantly reduces scalability costs from 2% to just 0.2% in mIoU while achieving impressive speed-ups of 15.6 to 63.9% compared to the non-scalable baseline. Furthermore, our scalable approach enables early predictions, with the first one occurring after only 7% of the total inference time of the baseline. The new VX-S3DIS dataset is available at https://github.com/remcoroyen/vx-s3dis.

GINTRIP: Interpretable Temporal Graph Regression using Information bottleneck and Prototype-based method

Deep neural networks (DNNs) have demonstrated remarkable performance across various domains, but their inherent complexity makes them challenging to interpret. This is especially true for temporal graph regression tasks due to the complex underlying spatio-temporal patterns in the graph. While interpretability concerns in Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) mirror those of DNNs, no notable work has addressed the interpretability of temporal GNNs to the best of our knowledge. Innovative methods, such as prototypes, aim to make DNN models more interpretable. However, a combined approach based on prototype-based methods and Information Bottleneck (IB) principles has not yet been developed for temporal GNNs. Our research introduces a novel approach that uniquely integrates these techniques to enhance the interpretability of temporal graph regression models. The key contributions of our work are threefold: We introduce the Graph INterpretability in Temporal Regression task using Information bottleneck and Prototype (GINTRIP) framework, the first combined application of IB and prototype-based methods for interpretable temporal graph tasks. We derive a novel theoretical bound on mutual information (MI), extending the applicability of IB principles to graph regression tasks. We incorporate an unsupervised auxiliary classification head, fostering diverse concept representation using multi-task learning, which enhances the model's interpretability. Our model is evaluated on real-world datasets like traffic and crime, outperforming existing methods in both forecasting accuracy and interpretability-related metrics such as MAE, RMSE, MAPE, and fidelity.

Efficient and Scalable Point Cloud Generation with Sparse Point-Voxel Diffusion Models

We propose a novel point cloud U-Net diffusion architecture for 3D generative modeling capable of generating high-quality and diverse 3D shapes while maintaining fast generation times. Our network employs a dual-branch architecture, combining the high-resolution representations of points with the computational efficiency of sparse voxels. Our fastest variant outperforms all non-diffusion generative approaches on unconditional shape generation, the most popular benchmark for evaluating point cloud generative models, while our largest model achieves state-of-the-art results among diffusion methods, with a runtime approximately 70% of the previously state-of-the-art PVD. Beyond unconditional generation, we perform extensive evaluations, including conditional generation on all categories of ShapeNet, demonstrating the scalability of our model to larger datasets, and implicit generation which allows our network to produce high quality point clouds on fewer timesteps, further decreasing the generation time. Finally, we evaluate the architecture's performance in point cloud completion and super-resolution. Our model excels in all tasks, establishing it as a state-of-the-art diffusion U-Net for point cloud generative modeling. The code is publicly available at https://github.com/JohnRomanelis/SPVD.git.

LAM3D: Leveraging Attention for Monocular 3D Object Detection

Since the introduction of the self-attention mechanism and the adoption of the Transformer architecture for Computer Vision tasks, the Vision Transformer-based architectures gained a lot of popularity in the field, being used for tasks such as image classification, object detection and image segmentation. However, efficiently leveraging the attention mechanism in vision transformers for the Monocular 3D Object Detection task remains an open question. In this paper, we present LAM3D, a framework that Leverages self-Attention mechanism for Monocular 3D object Detection. To do so, the proposed method is built upon a Pyramid Vision Transformer v2 (PVTv2) as feature extraction backbone and 2D/3D detection machinery. We evaluate the proposed method on the KITTI 3D Object Detection Benchmark, proving the applicability of the proposed solution in the autonomous driving domain and outperforming reference methods. Moreover, due to the usage of self-attention, LAM3D is able to systematically outperform the equivalent architecture that does not employ self-attention.

Joint prototype and coefficient prediction for 3D instance segmentation

3D instance segmentation is crucial for applications demanding comprehensive 3D scene understanding. In this paper, we introduce a novel method that simultaneously learns coefficients and prototypes. Employing an overcomplete sampling strategy, our method produces an overcomplete set of instance predictions, from which the optimal ones are selected through a Non-Maximum Suppression (NMS) algorithm during inference. The obtained prototypes are visualizable and interpretable. Our method demonstrates superior performance on S3DIS-blocks, consistently outperforming existing methods in mRec and mPrec. Moreover, it operates 32.9% faster than the state-of-the-art. Notably, with only 0.8% of the total inference time, our method exhibits an over 20-fold reduction in the variance of inference time compared to existing methods. These attributes render our method well-suited for practical applications requiring both rapid inference and high reliability.

Improved Block Merging for 3D Point Cloud Instance Segmentation

This paper proposes a novel block merging algorithm suitable for any block-based 3D instance segmentation technique. The proposed work improves over the state-of-the-art by allowing wrongly labelled points of already processed blocks to be corrected through label propagation. By doing so, instance overlap between blocks is not anymore necessary to produce the desirable results, which is the main limitation of the current art. Our experiments show that the proposed block merging algorithm significantly and consistently improves the obtained accuracy for all evaluation metrics employed in literature, regardless of the underlying network architecture.

RT-GS2: Real-Time Generalizable Semantic Segmentation for 3D Gaussian Representations of Radiance Fields

Gaussian Splatting has revolutionized the world of novel view synthesis by achieving high rendering performance in real-time. Recently, studies have focused on enriching these 3D representations with semantic information for downstream tasks. In this paper, we introduce RT-GS2, the first generalizable semantic segmentation method employing Gaussian Splatting. While existing Gaussian Splatting-based approaches rely on scene-specific training, RT-GS2 demonstrates the ability to generalize to unseen scenes. Our method adopts a new approach by first extracting view-independent 3D Gaussian features in a self-supervised manner, followed by a novel View-Dependent / View-Independent (VDVI) feature fusion to enhance semantic consistency over different views. Extensive experimentation on three different datasets showcases RT-GS2's superiority over the state-of-the-art methods in semantic segmentation quality, exemplified by a 8.01% increase in mIoU on the Replica dataset. Moreover, our method achieves real-time performance of 27.03 FPS, marking an astonishing 901 times speedup compared to existing approaches. This work represents a significant advancement in the field by introducing, to the best of our knowledge, the first real-time generalizable semantic segmentation method for 3D Gaussian representations of radiance fields.

RESSCAL3D: Resolution Scalable 3D Semantic Segmentation of Point Clouds

While deep learning-based methods have demonstrated outstanding results in numerous domains, some important functionalities are missing. Resolution scalability is one of them. In this work, we introduce a novel architecture, dubbed RESSCAL3D, providing resolution-scalable 3D semantic segmentation of point clouds. In contrast to existing works, the proposed method does not require the whole point cloud to be available to start inference. Once a low-resolution version of the input point cloud is available, first semantic predictions can be generated in an extremely fast manner. This enables early decision-making in subsequent processing steps. As additional points become available, these are processed in parallel. To improve performance, features from previously computed scales are employed as prior knowledge at the current scale. Our experiments show that RESSCAL3D is 31-62% faster than the non-scalable baseline while keeping a limited impact on performance. To the best of our knowledge, the proposed method is the first to propose a resolution-scalable approach for 3D semantic segmentation of point clouds based on deep learning.
