Tensor Product Decompositions, Limits in Excellent Filtrations, Affine Weyl Group Orbits, and Tableaux Counting

We express the outer multiplicities in the tensor products of two fundamental simple modules for an affine Kac-Moody algebra of type $A$ in terms of counting certain sets of multipartitions by exploring the stabilizing limits of certain excellent filtrations. This extends for all ranks a previously obtained result by Jakeli\'c and the second author for rank $1$. The same outer multiplicities were previously computed by Misra and Wilson in terms of counting certain sets of tableaux. By comparing these two expressions and by explicitly exhibiting a combinatorial description of level-$2$ affine Weyl group orbits, we establish the existence of a bijection between the Misra-Wilson set of tableaux and a disjoint union of certain sets of multipartitions.

Imaginary modules arising from tensor products of snake modules

Motivated by the limitations of cluster algebra techniques in detecting imaginary modules, we build on the representation-theoretic framework developed by the first author and Chari to extend the construction of such modules beyond previously known cases, which arise from the tensor product of a higher-order Kirillov--Reshetikhin module and its dual. Our first main result gives an explicit description of the socle of tensor products of two snake modules, assuming the corresponding snakes form a covering pair of ladders. By considering a higher-order generalization of the covering relation, we describe a sequence of inclusions of highest-$\ell$-weight submodules of such tensor products. We conjecture all the quotients of subsequent modules in this chain of inclusions are simple and imaginary, except for the socle itself, which might be real. We prove the first such quotient is indeed simple and, assuming an extra mild condition, we also prove it is imaginary, thus giving rise to new classes of imaginary modules within the category of finite-dimensional representations of quantum loop algebras in type A.

Totally ordered pseudo q-factorization graphs and prime factorization

In an earlier publication, the last two authors showed that a finite-dimensional module for a quantum affine algebra of type $A$ whose $q$-factorization graph is totally ordered is prime. In this paper, we continue the investigation of the role of totally ordered pseudo $q$-factorization graphs in the study of the monoidal structure of the underlying abelian category. We introduce the notions of modules with (prime) snake support and of maximal totally ordered subgraphs decompositions. Our main result shows that modules with snake support have unique such decomposition and that it determines the corresponding prime factorization. Along the way, we also prove that prime snake modules (for type $A$) can be characterized as the modules for which every pseudo $q$-factorization graph is totally ordered.

Reality determining subgraphs and strongly real modules

The concept of pseudo q-factorization graphs was recently introduced by the last two authors as a combinatorial language which is suited for capturing certain properties of Drinfeld polynomials. Using certain known representation theoretic facts about tensor products of Kirillov Reshetikhin modules and qcharacters, combined with special topological/combinatorial properties of the underlying q-factorization graphs, the last two authors showed that, for algebras of type A, modules associated to totally ordered graphs are prime, while those associated to trees are real. In this paper, we extend the latter result. We introduce the notions of strongly real modules and that of trees of modules satisfying certain properties. In particular, we can consider snake trees, i.e., trees formed from snake modules. Among other results, we show that a certain class of such generalized trees, which properly contains the snake trees, give rise to strongly real modules.

Three-vertex prime graphs and reality of trees

We continue the study of prime simple modules for quantum affine algebras from the perspective of $q$-fatorization graphs. In this paper we establish several properties related to simple modules whose $q$-factorization graphs are afforded by trees. The two most important of them are proved for type $A$. The first completes the classification of the prime simple modules with three $q$-factors by giving a precise criterion for the primality of a $3$-vertex line which is not totally ordered. Using a very special case of this criterion, we then show that a simple module whose $q$-factorization graph is afforded by an arbitrary tree is real. Indeed, the proof of the latter works for all types, provided the aforementioned special case is settled in general.

On the primality of totally ordered $q$-factorization graphs

We introduce the combinatorial notion of a $q$-fatorization graph intended as a tool to study and express results related to the classification of prime simple modules for quantum affine algebras. These are directed graphs equipped with three decorations: a coloring and a weight map on vertices, and an exponent map on arrows (the exponent map can be seen as a weight map on arrows). Such graphs do not contain oriented cycles and, hence, the set of arrows induces a partial order on the set of vertices. In this first paper on the topic, beside setting the theoretical base of the concept, we establish several criteria for deciding whether or not a tensor product of two simple modules is a highest-$\ell$-weight module and use such criteria to prove, for type $A$, that a simple module whose $q$-factorization graph has a totally ordered vertex set is prime.

On Truncated Weyl Modules

We study structural properties of truncated Weyl modules. A truncated Weyl module $W_N(λ)$ is a local Weyl module for $\mathfrak g[t]_N = \mathfrak g \otimes \frac{\mathbb C[t]}{t^N\mathbb C[t]}$, where $\mathfrak g$ is a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra. It has been conjectured that, if $N$ is sufficiently small with respect to $λ$, the truncated Weyl module is isomorphic to a fusion product of certain irreducible modules. Our main result proves this conjecture when $λ$ is a multiple of certain fundamental weights, including all minuscule ones for simply laced $\mathfrak g$. We also take a further step towards proving the conjecture for all multiples of fundamental weights by proving that the corresponding truncated Weyl module is isomorphic to a natural quotient of a fusion product of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules. One important part of the proof of the main result shows that any truncated Weyl module is isomorphic to a Chari-Venkatesh module and explicitly describes the corresponding family of partitions. This leads to further results in the case that $\mathfrak g=\mathfrak{sl}_2$ related to Demazure flags and chains of inclusions of truncated Weyl modules.

Non-Minimality of Certain Irregular Coherent Preminimal Affinizations

Let $\mathfrak g$ be a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra of type $D$ or $E$ and $λ$ be a dominant integral weight whose support bounds the subdiagram of type $D_4$. We study certain quantum affinizations of the simple $\mathfrak g$-module of highest weight $λ$ which we term preminimal affinizations of order two (this is the maximal order for such $λ$). This class can be split in two: the coherent and the incoherent affinizations. If $λ$ is regular, Chari and Pressley proved that the associated minimal affinizations belong to one of the three equivalent classes of coherent preminimal affinizations. In this paper we show that, if $λ$ is irregular, the coherent preminimal affinizations are not minimal under certain hypotheses. Since these hypotheses are always satisfied if $\mathfrak g$ is of type $D_4$, this completes the classification of minimal affinizations for type $D_4$ by giving a negative answer to a conjecture of Chari-Pressley stating that the coherent and the incoherent affinizations were equivalent in type $D_4$ (this corrects the opposite claim made by the first author in a previous publication).

Limits of Multiplicities in Excellent Filtrations and Tensor Product Decompositions for Affine Kac-Moody Algebras

We express the multiplicities of the irreducible summands of certain tensor products of irreducible integrable modules for an affine Kac-Moody algebra over a simply laced Lie algebra as sums of multiplicities in appropriate excellent filtrations (Demazure flags). As an application, we obtain expressions for the outer multiplicities of tensor products of two fundamental modules for $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$ in terms of partitions with bounded parts, which subsequently lead to certain partition identities.

Equivariant map queer Lie superalgebras

An equivariant map queer Lie superalgebra is the Lie superalgebra of regular maps from an algebraic variety (or scheme) $X$ to a queer Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{q}$ that are equivariant with respect to the action of a finite group $Γ$ acting on $X$ and $\mathfrak{q}$. In this paper, we classify all irreducible finite-dimensional representations of the equivariant map queer Lie superalgebras under the assumption that $Γ$ is abelian and acts freely on $X$. We show that such representations are parameterized by a certain set of $Γ$-equivariant finitely supported maps from $X$ to the set of isomorphism classes of irreducible finite-dimensional representations of $\mathfrak{q}$. In the special case where $X$ is the torus, we obtain a classification of the irreducible finite-dimensional representations of the twisted loop queer superalgebra.

Demazure modules of level two and prime representations of quantum affine $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$

We study the classical limit of a family of irreducible representations of the quantum affine algebra associated to $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$. After a suitable twist, the limit is a module for $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}[t]$, i.e., for the maximal standard parabolic subalgebra of the affine Lie algebra. Our first result is about the family of prime representations introduced in the context of a monoidal categorification of cluster algebras. We show that these representations specialize (after twisting), to $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}[t]$--stable, prime Demazure modules in level two integrable highest weight representations of the classical affine Lie algebra. More generally, we prove that any level two Demazure module is the limit of the tensor product of the corresponding irreducible prime representations of quantum affine $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$.

On Demazure and local Weyl modules for affine hyperalgebras

We establish the existence of Demazure flags for graded local Weyl modules for hyper current algebras in positive characteristic. If the underlying simple Lie algebra is simply laced, the flag has length one, i.e., the graded local Weyl modules are isomorphic to Demazure modules. This extends to the positive characteristic setting results of Fourier-Littelmann and Naoi for current algebras in characteristic zero. Using this result, we prove that the character of local Weyl modules for hyper loop algebras depend only on the highest weight, but not on the (algebraically closed) ground field, and deduce a tensor product factorization for them.

On multigraded generalizations of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules

We study the category of Z^l-graded modules with finite-dimensional graded pieces for certain Z+^l-graded Lie algebras. We also consider certain Serre subcategories with finitely many isomorphism classes of simple objects. We construct projective resolutions for the simple modules in these categories and compute the Ext groups between simple modules. We show that the projective covers of the simple modules in these Serre subcategories can be regarded as multigraded generalizations of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules and give a recursive formula for computing their graded characters.

Finite-dimensional representations of twisted hyper loop algebras

We investigate the category of finite-dimensional representations of twisted hyper loop algebras, i.e., the hyperalgebras associated to twisted loop algebras over finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras. The main results are the classification of the irreducible modules, the definition of the universal highest-weight modules, called the Weyl modules, and, under a certain mild restriction on the characteristic of the ground field, a proof that the simple modules and the Weyl modules for the twisted hyper loop algebras are isomorphic to appropriate simple and Weyl modules for the non-twisted hyper loop algebras, respectively, via restriction of the action.

Prime Representations from a Homological Perspective

We begin the study of simple finite-dimensional prime representations of quantum affine algebras from a homological perspective. Namely, we explore the relation between self extensions of simple representations and the property of being prime. We show that every nontrivial simple module has a nontrivial self extension. Conversely, if a simple representation has a unique nontrivial self extension up to isomorphism, then its Drinfeld polynomial is a power of the Drinfeld polynomial of a prime representation. It turns out that, in the sl(2) case, a simple module is prime if and only if it has a unique nontrivial self extension up to isomorphism. It is tempting to conjecture that this is true in general and we present a large class of prime representations satisfying this homological property.

Graded limits of minimal affinizations and Beyond: the multiplicty free case for type E6

We obtain a graded character formula for certain graded modules for the current algebra over a simple Lie algebra of type E6. For certain values of their highest weight, these modules were conjectured to be isomorphic to the classical limit of the corresponding minimal affinizations of the associated quantum group. We prove that this is the case under further restrictions on the highest weight. Under another set of conditions on the highest weight, Chari and Greenstein have recently proved that they are projective objects of a full subcategory of the category of graded modules for the current algebra. Our formula applies to all of these projective modules.

Tensor products, characters, and blocks of finite-dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras at roots of unity

We establish several results concerning tensor products, q-characters, and the block decomposition of the category of finite-dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras in the root of unity setting. In the generic case, a Weyl module is isomorphic to a tensor product of fundamental representations and this isomorphism was essential for establishing the block decomposition theorem. This is no longer true in the root of unity setting. We overcome the lack of such a tool by utilizing results on specialization of modules. Furthermore, we establish a sufficient condition for a Weyl module to be a tensor product of fundamental representations and prove that this condition is also necessary when the underlying simple Lie algebra is sl(2). We also study the braid group invariance of q-characters of fundamental representations.
