The double-logarithmic four-graviton Regge sector as a rank-two twisted period system

We study the double-logarithmic four-graviton Regge sector in $N$-extended supergravity. Its Mellin-space solution is already known in terms of parabolic-cylinder functions. We show that the same answer can be organized as a rank-two twisted period system, meaning that two closely related weighted integrals determine the full Mellin partial wave. These functions satisfy a simple pair of first-order differential equations and a recursion as the number of supersymmetries $N$ changes. This gives a uniform description of the full supergravity family, clarifies the relation between the positive-ray Euler integral and the earlier contour representation, and reproduces the same reduction rule through intersection theory. The reformulation also makes the special cases with four and six supersymmetries particularly transparent and yields a simple Hermite-polynomial construction for the low-even theories.

The Knizhnik--Zamolodchikov structure of lattice BFKL evolution and the twist-two anomalous dimension

We study a lattice regularization of the BFKL evolution, showing its bulk dynamics is governed by an abelian Knizhnik--Zamolodchikov equation. The Hamiltonian combines long-range hopping with virtual corrections encoded by harmonic numbers. An exact walk expansion renders Reggeisation manifest at finite system size. In the bulk continuum limit, evolution reduces to a connection on $\mathbb{P}^1\setminus\{0,1,\infty\}$: $Ω(x) = -2\,dx/x - 4\,dx/(1-x)$, with solutions in $\{0,1\}$-alphabet harmonic polylogarithms. Projecting to the collinear sector via Brown's single-valued map organizes the twist-two anomalous dimension's small-$ω$ expansion, generating polynomials in odd zeta values, matching the transcendentality structure of planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM and multi-Regge kinematics. The lattice thus isolates the algebraic core of BFKL evolution.

On the conformal spin dependence of the perturbative QCD vacuum singularity

We study the four-gluon scattering amplitude in the high energy limit of QCD written in terms of its conformal expansion. We highlight the need to include both even and odd conformal spin contributions in order to map it to an iterative representation in rapidity and transverse momentum space which we have evaluated numerically. By Fourier expanding in a set of three azimuthal angles, we find a new form for the amplitude in terms of $_4F_3$ hypergeometric functions. An alternative formulation is possible when connecting this Fourier expansion with Bessel kernels studied in analytic number theory.

Average minijet rapidity ratios in Mueller-Navelet jets

We investigate different final state features in Mueller-Navelet jets events at hadron colliders. The focus lies on the average rapidity ratio between subsequent minijet emissions which has been investigated in previous works but now is modified to also incorporate the transverse momenta together with the rapidities of the emitted jets. We study the dependence of this observable on a lower transverse momentum veto which does affect the typical minijet multiplicity of the events under scrutiny. We find that this observable is stable when including higher order quantum corrections, also when collinear terms are resummed to all orders.

An effective field theory approach for electroweak interactions in the high energy limit

We present an effective action for the electroweak sector of the Standard Model valid for the calculation of scattering amplitudes in the high energy (Regge) limit. Gauge invariant Wilson lines are introduced to describe reggeized degrees of freedom whose interactions are generated by effective emission vertices. From this approach previous results at leading logarithmic accuracy for electroweak boson Regge trajectories are reproduced together with the corresponding interaction kernels. The proposed framework lays the path for calculations at higher orders in perturbation theory.

A few topics in BFKL phenomenology at hadron colliders

This is a personal recollection of several results involving the phenomenological study of the multi-Regge limit of scattering amplitudes. None of them would have been possible without the encouragement and constant support from Lev Nikolaevich Lipatov.

Double logarithms in ${\cal N} \geq 4$ supergravity: weak gravity and Shapiro's time delay

A study of the double logarithmic in the center-of-mass energy, $s$, contributions to the four-graviton scattering amplitude is presented for four-dimensional ${\cal N} \geq 4$ supergravities. This includes a novel representation for the coefficients of the perturbative expansion based on exactly solvable recurrences. A review is given of the structure in the complex angular momentum plane for the $t$-channel partial wave singularities of the different amplitudes. Working in impact parameter representation, $ρ$, it is shown that the resummation of double logarithms makes gravity weaker in regions of small $ρ$ and large $s$. This screening of the gravitational interaction at short distances in the double logarithmic sector of the amplitudes is more acute as the number of gravitinos in the theory increases. It brings corrections to the eikonal phase which can change the sign of the graviton's deflection angle and generate regions with repulsive interaction. For very small impact parameters there appears a constant negative shift in both the eikonal phase and Shapiro's time delay which is not large enough to generate causality violation.

Double-logarithms in N=8 supergravity: impact parameter description and mapping to 1-rooted ribbon graphs

The set of double-logarithmic (DL) contributions $(α\, t \ln^2 {s})^n$ to the 4-graviton amplitude in ${\cal N}$$=$ 8 supergravity (SUGRA), with $α$ being the gravitational coupling and $(s,t)$ the Mandelstam invariants, is studied in impact parameter ($ρ$) representation. This sector of the amplitude shows interesting properties which shed light on the nature of quantum corrections in gravity. Besides having a convergent behaviour as $s$ increases, which is not present in ${\cal N}$$<$ 4 SUGRA theories, there exists a critical line $ρ_c(s)$ above which the Born amplitude prevails. The short distance region $ρ< ρ_c(s)$ is dominated by the DL terms. As a consequence, when studied in terms of an eikonal approach in the forward limit, the scattering angle linked to the bending of the semiclassical trajectory of the graviton shows a transition from attractive gravity at large distances to a region at small $ρ$ characterized by a repulsive DL contribution to the gravitational potential due to the gravitino content of the theory. In the complex angular momentum plane, this DL high energy asymptotics is driven by the rightmost pole singularity of a parabolic cylinder function. The resummation of DL quantum corrections in ${\cal N}$$=$ 8 SUGRA can be understood in terms of the counting of 1-rooted maps on orientable surfaces.

Reggeon webs, spin chains and the Odderon

At high center-of-mass energies scattering amplitudes enjoy a hidden integrability. An important example in QCD is Odderon exchange, a composite state of three reggeized gluons, with can be understood as a closed spin chain with periodic boundary conditions. In the N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory a similar open spin chain appears for the planar eight-point amplitude. We solve these two examples in transverse momentum and rapidity space, introducing the concept of weighted graph complexity and its associated emerging scaling laws.

Sudakov Representation of the Cachazo-He-Yuan Scattering Equations Formalism

We show that the use of Sudakov variables greatly simplifies the study of the solutions to the scattering equations in the Cachazo-He-Yuan formalism. We work in the center-of-mass frame for the two incoming particles, which partially fixes the SL(2,C) redundancy in the integrand defining the scattering amplitudes, the remaining freedom translates into a global shift in the azimuthal angle of the outgoing particles. Studying four- and five-particle amplitudes, we see how an appropriate choice of this phase allows for algebraic simplifications when finding solutions to the scattering equations, as well as in the expression of the scattering amplitudes in terms of the locations of the punctures in the sphere. These punctures themselves are remarkably simple functions of the Sudakov parameters.

Inclusive four-jet production: a study of Multi-Regge kinematics and BFKL observables

A study of differential cross sections for the production of four jets in multi-Regge kinematics is presented, the main focus lying on azimuthal angle dependences. The theoretical setup consists in the jet production from a single BFKL ladder with a convolution of three BFKL Green functions, where two forward/backward jets are always tagged in the final state. Furthermore, the tagging of two further jets in more central regions of the detectors with a relative separation in rapidity from each other is requested. It is found, as result, that the dependence on the transverse momenta and the rapidities of the two central jets can be considered as a distinct signal of the onset of BFKL dynamics.

NLO Vertex for a Forward Jet plus a Rapidity Gap at High Energies

We present the calculation of the forward jet vertex associated to a rapidity gap (coupling of a hard pomeron to the jet) in the BFKL formalism at next-to-leading order (NLO). Real emission contributions are computed via Lipatov's effective action. The NLO jet vertex turns out to be finite within collinear factorization and allows, together with the NLO non-forward gluon Green's function, to perform NLO studies of jet production in diffractive events (e.g. Mueller-Tang dijets).

The Gluon-Induced Mueller-Tang Jet Impact Factor at Next-to-Leading Order

We complete the computation of the Mueller-Tang jet impact factor at next-to-leading order (NLO) initiated in arXiv:1406.5625 and presented in arXiv:1404.2937 by computing the real corrections associated to gluons in the initial state making use of Lipatov's effective action. NLO corrections for this effective vertex are an important ingredient for a reliable description of large rapidity gap phenomenology within the BFKL approach.

Dijet Production in QCD and N=4 SYM

We investigate dijet production at large rapidity separation in QCD and N = 4 SYM, showing that both theories give similar predictions for observables only sensitive to conformal properties of the scattering such as ratios of azimuthal angle correlations. Renormalization prescriptions are important in this comparison.

Two-Loop Gluon Regge Trajectory from Lipatov's Effective Action

Lipatov's high-energy effective action is a useful tool for computations in the Regge limit beyond leading order. Recently, a regularisation/subtraction prescription has been proposed that allows to apply this formalism to calculate next-to-leading order corrections in a consistent way. We illustrate this procedure with the computation of the gluon Regge trajectory at two loops.

High-Energy Dijets in N=4 SYM

Ratios of azimuthal angle correlations for Mueller-Navelet jets are compared in QCD and N = 4 SYM. Such observables are well suited to study the effects of Moebius invariance in the Regge limit. The role of the renormalization prescription and the size of conformal contributions is addressed, showing that the BLM procedure best reproduces the N = 4 SYM results.
