Lorentz and gauge invariance of quantum space

Motivated by generalized uncertainty principle, we derive a discrete picture of the space that respects Lorentz symmetry as well as gauge symmetry through setting an equivalency between linear GUP correction term and electromagnetic interaction term in Dirac equation. We derived a wavefunction solution that satisfies this equivalency. This discreteness may explain the crystal and quasicrystal structures observed in nature at different energy scales.

Einstein-Rosen bridge from the minimal length

We use a string T-duality corrected pair of regular black holes to construct an Einstein-Rosen (ER) bridge with the wormhole throat proportional to the zero-point (Planck) length. This may be a geometric realization of quantum entanglement for particle/antiparticle pairs. We point out that for an extreme mass configuration consisting of a black hole pair, one can have an ER bridge with a horizon area that coincides with the Bekenstein minimal area bound along with a wormhole mass proportional to the Planck mass. This could be related to gravitational self-completeness with quantum mechanical mass limits. We also discuss the ER bridge for sub-Planckian mass horizonless wormholes and show this admits a region of negative energy at the throat, which we posit to be related to a particle of negative mass generated by quantum fluctuations or the Casimir effect. We argue that Hawking radiation could be the best way for the geometric realization of quantum entanglement for particle/antiparticle pairs emitted by black holes. This sheds new light on the ER=EPR conjecture.

Unitary symmetries in wormhole geometry and its thermodynamics

From a geometric point of view, we show that the unitary symmetries $U(1)$ and $SU(2)$ stem fundamentally from Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordström wormhole geometry through spacetime complexification. Then, we develop quantum tunneling which makes these wormholes traversable for particles. Finally, this leads to wormhole thermodynamics.

Universality of minimal length

We present an argument reinterpreting the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) and its associated minimal length as an effective variation of Planck constant ($\hbar$), complementing Dirac's large number hypothesis of varying $G$. We argue that the charge radii (i.e. the minimal length of a scattering process) of hadrons/nuclei along with their corresponding masses support an existence of an effective variation of $\hbar$. This suggests a universality of a minimal length in measurement of scattering process. Varying $\hbar$ and $G$ explains the necessity of Von Neumann entropy correction in Bekenstein-Hawking entropy-area law. Lastly, we suggest that the effective value of $\hbar$ derived from various elements may be related to the epoch of their creation via nucleosynthesis.

Massless Charged Particles Tunneling Radiation from a RN-dS Horizon and the Linear and Quadratic GUP

In this paper, we investigate the massless Reissner-Nordstrom de Sitter metric in the context of minimal length scenarios. We prove not only the confinement of the energy density of massless charged particles, both fermions and bosons, but also their ability to tunnel through the cosmological horizon. These massless particles might be interacting with Dirac sea and in this case they will appear outside the cosmological horizon in the context of dS/CFT holography. This result may formulate a fundamental reason for the expansion of the Dirac sea. Therefore, a spacetime Big Crunch may occur.

Timeless state of gravity: Black hole universal clock

We investigate Rindler's frame measurements. From its perspective, we found a geometric/gravitational interpretation of speed of light, mass and uncertainty principle. This can be interpreted as measurements of a black hole universal clock. This lead to an emergence of a timeless state of gravity in a mathematically consistent way. In other words, space my be a frozen time.

Discreteness of Space from Anisotropic Spin-Orbit Interaction

Various approaches to Quantum Gravity suggest an existence of a minimal measurable length. The cost to have such minimal length could be modified uncertainty principle, modified dispersion relation, non-commutative geometry or breaking of continuous Lorentz symmetry. In this paper, we propose that minimal length can be obtained naturally through spin-orbit interaction. We consider Dresselhaus anisotropic spin-orbit interaction as the perturbative Hamiltonian. When applied to a particle, it implies that the space, which seizes this particle, should be quantized in terms of units that depend on particle's mass. This suggests that all measurable lengths in the space are quantized in units depending on existent mass and the Dresselhaus coupling constant. On one side, this indicates a breakdown of the space continuum picture near the scale of tabletop experiments, and on the other side, it proposes that spin-orbit interaction is a possible quantum gravity effect at low energy scale that leads naturally to space quantization.

Quantum no-singularity theorem from geometric flows

In this paper, we analyze the classical geometric flow as a dynamical system. We obtain an action for this system, such that its equation of motion is the Raychaudhuri equation. This action will be used to quantize this system. As the Raychaudhuri equation is the basis for deriving the singularity theorems, we will be able to understand the effects such a quantization will have on the classical singularity theorems. Thus, quantizing the geometric flow, we can demonstrate that a quantum space-time is complete (non-singular). This is because the existence of a conjugate point is a necessary condition for the occurrence of singularities, and we will be able to demonstrate that such conjugate points cannot occur due to such quantum effects.

Generalized uncertainty principle and stochastic gravitational wave background spectrum

This paper concerned with the effect of generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) on the stochastic gravitational wave (SGW) background signal that produced during first order cosmological QCD phase transition in early universe. A modified formula of entropy is used to calculate the temporal evolution of temperature of the universe as a function of the Hubble parameter. The pressure that results from the recent lattice calculations, which provides parameterizations of the pressure due to $u,~d,~s$ quarks and gluons, with trace anomaly is used to describe the equation of state around QCD epoch. A redshift in the peak frequency of SGW at current epoch is calculated. The results indicate an increase in the frequency peak due to GUP effect, which improves the ability to detect it. Taking into account bubble wall collisions (BWC) and turbulent magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) as a source of SGW, a fractional energy density is investigated. It is found that the GUP effect weakens the SGW signal generated during QCD phase transition in comparison to its counterpart in the absence of GUP. These results support understanding the cosmological QCD phase transition and test the effectiveness of the GUP theory.

Rainbow Spacetime from a Nonlocal Gravitational Uncertainty Principle

Occurrence of spacetime singularities is one of the peculiar features of Einstein gravity, signalling limitation on probing short distances in spacetime. This alludes to the existence of a fundamental length scale in nature. On contrary, Heisenberg quantum uncertainty relation seems to allow for probing arbitrarily small length scales. To reconcile these two conflicting ideas in line with a well known framework of quantum gravity, several modifications of Heisenberg algebra have been proposed. However, it has been extensively argued that such a minimum length would introduce nonlocality in theories of quantum gravity. In this Letter, we analyze a previously proposed deformation of the Heisenberg algebra (i.e. $p \rightarrow p (1 + λp^{-1})$) for a particle confined in a box subjected to a gravitational field. For the problem in hand, such deformation seems to yield an energy-dependent behavior of spacetime in a way consistent with gravity's rainbow, hence demonstrating a connection between non-locality and gravity's rainbow.

Proton Decay and the Quantum Structure of Spacetime

Virtual black holes in noncommutative spacetime are investigated using coordinate coherent state formalism such that the event horizon of black hole is manipulated by smearing it with a Gaussian of width $ \sqrt θ$, where $ θ$ is the noncommutativity parameter. Proton lifetime, the main associated phenomenology of the noncommutative virtual black holes, has been studied: first in $4$ dimensional spacetime and then generalized to $D$ dimensions. The lifetime depends on $ θ$ and the number of spacetime dimensions such that it emphasizes on the measurement of proton lifetime as a potential probe for the micro-structure of spacetime.

Linear and Quadratic GUP, Liouville Theorem, Cosmological Constant, and Brick Wall Entropy

Motivated by the works on Equivalence Principle in the context of linear Generalized Uncertainty Principle and, independently, in the context of quadratic Generalized Uncertainty Principle, we expand these endeavors in the context of Generalized Uncertainty Principle when both linear and quadratic terms in momentum are include. We demonstrate how the definitions of equations of motion change upon that expansion. We also show how to obtain an analogue of Liouville theorem in the presence of linear and quadratic Generalized Uncertainty Principle. We employ the corresponding modified invariant unit volume of phase space to discuss the resulting density of states, the problem of cosmological constant, the black body radiation in curved spacetime, the concurrent energy and consequent no Brick Wall entropy.

Massless Charged Particles, Naked Singularity, and Generalized Uncertainty Principle in Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter-like spacetime

Motivated by the endeavors of Li Xiang and You-Gen Shen on naked singularities, we investigate the validity of the cosmic censorship conjecture in the context of generalized uncertainty principle. In particular, upon considering both linear and quadratic terms of momentum in the uncertainty principle, we first compute the entropy of a massless charged black hole in de Sitter spacetime at a given modified temperature. Then, we compute the corresponding modified cosmological radius and express the black hole electric charge in terms of this modified cosmological radius and, thus, in terms of the generalized uncertainty principle parameter. Finally, we examine whether such a system will end up being a naked singularity or it might be protected by the cosmic censorship conjecture, and how that might be related to the possible existence of massless charged particles.

GUP and the no-cloning theorem

Motivated by a recent work by Yongwan Gim, Hwajin Um, and Wontae Kim, we investigate the validity of the no-cloning theorem in the context of generalized uncertainty principle. In particular, in the presence of linear and quadratic terms of momentum in generalized uncertainty principle, we first compute the energy density at a given modified temperature and then using the modified Stefan-Boltzmann law we derive the modified Page time. Finally, we calculate the modified required energy for the information to be encoded into a message and be sent to an observer inside the black hole.

Time Dependent Geometry in Massive Gravity

In this paper, we will analyze a time dependent geometry in a massive theory of gravity. This will be done by analyzing Vaidya space-time in such a massive theory of gravity. As gravitational collapse is a time dependent system, we will analyze it using the Vaidya space-time in massive gravity. The Vainshtein and dRGT mechanisms are used to obtain a ghost free massive gravity, and construct such time dependent solutions. Singularities formed, their nature and strength will be studied in detail. We will also study the thermodynamical aspects of such a geometry by calculating the important thermodynamical quantities for such a system, and analyzing the thermodynamical behavior of such quantities.

The GUP and quantum Raychaudhuri equation

In this paper, we compare the quantum corrections to the Schwarzschild black hole temperature due to quadratic and linear-quadratic generalized uncertainty principle, with the corrections from the quantum Raychaudhuri equation. The reason for this comparison is to connect the deformation parameters $β_0$ and $ α_0$ with $η$ which is the parameter that characterizes the quantum Raychaudhuri equation. The derived relation between the parameters appears to depend on the relative scale of the system (black hole), which could be read as a beta function equation for the quadratic deformation parameter $β_0$. This study shows a correspondence between the two phenomenological approaches and indicates that quantum Raychaudhuri equation implies the existence of a crystal-like structure of spacetime.

GUP parameter and black hole temperature

Motivated by a recent work of Scardigli, Lambiase and Vagenas (SLV), we derive the GUP parameter, i.e. $α_0$, when the GUP has a linear and quadratic term in momentum. The value of the GUP parameter is obtained by conjecturing that the GUP-deformed black hole temperature of a Schwarzschild black hole and the modified Hawking temperature of a quantum-corrected Schwarzschild black hole are the same. The leading term in both cases is the standard Hawking temperature and since the corrections are considered as thermal, the modified and deformed expressions of temperature display a slight shift in the Hawking temperature. Finally, by equating the first correction terms, we obtain a value for the GUP parameter. In our analysis, the GUP parameter is not a pure number but depends on the ratio $\mpl /M$ with $\mpl$ to be the Planck mass and $M$ the black hole mass.

Hawking Radiation Power Equations for Black Holes

We derive the Hawking radiation power equations for black holes in asymptotically flat, asymptotically Anti-de Sitter (AdS) and asymptotically de Sitter (dS) black holes, This is done by using the greybody factor for these black holes. We observe that the radiation power equation for asymptotically flat black holes, corresponding to greybody factor at low frequency, depends on both the Hawking temperature and the horizon radius. However, for the greybody factors at asymptotic frequency, it only depends on the Hawking temperature. We also obtain the power equation for asymptotically AdS black holes both below and above the critical frequency. The radiation power equation for at asymptotic frequency is same for both Schwarzschild AdS and Reissner-Nordström AdS solutions and only depends on the Hawking temperature. We also discuss the power equation for asymptotically dS black holes at low frequency, for both even or odd dimensions.
