Harmonic Analysis of some arithmetical functions

We study three functions which are power series in the variable $z$, Dirichlet series in the variable $s$ and with coefficients given by arithmetical functions. A strong point is to relate these functions to some Hilbert spaces. Three main ingredients are used: an estimate of Davenport on sums of M\"obius functions, a result of Lucht on convolutions of arithmetical Dirichlet series and the introduction of an operation $\otimes$ on power series, naturally associated with the mentioned Hilbert spaces.

Hadamard's variational formula and the energy-momentum tensor

The Hadamard variational formula for the Green function is formulated in terms of a polarized energy-momentum tensor and a strain tensor. This is elaborated in a general setting of subdomains of a Riemannian manifold in arbitrary dimension and linked to the way the energy-momentum tensor in general field theory appears as a result of varying the metric tensor in a Lagrangian function.

Representation Theory and Differential Equations

We study the geometry and partial differential equations arising from the consideration of group-determinants, and representation theory. The simplest and most striking such example is undoubtedly that of the Humbert operator, associated with the cyclic group Z/3Z. This operator appears as a natural extension of the Laplacian in dimension 2. Another originality of our work is to show that the spectral theory of operators associated with Frobenius determinants is closely linked to finite Fourier transform theory.

Geometric Methods in Partial Differential Equations

We study the interplay between geometry and partial differential equations. We show how the fundamental ideas we use require the ability to correctly calculate the dimensions of spaces associated to the varieties of zeros of the symbols of those differential equations. This brings to the center of the analysis several classical results from algebraic geometry, including the Cayley-Bacharach theorem and some of its variants as Serret's theorem, and the Brill-Noether Restsatz theorem.

Frobenius determinants and Bessel Functions

We study the geometry and partial differential equations arising from the consideration of Frobenius determinants, also called-group-determinants. This leads us to address some aspects of twistor theory as well as some extensions of Bessel functions.

Sur deux formules de Frobenius et Stickelberger et inversion de Lagrange

We give a proof and extension of two formulas of Frobenius and Stickelberger of Differential Calculus that they used in a fundamental paper concerning elliptic functions theory. Our main ingredient is the introduction of a bilinear form which is a vast generalization of Leibniz formula. This bilinear form is also connected to the Lagrange product formula. As a corollary, we give a different proof of a theorem of P.J. Olver.

Eisenstein series and modular differential equations

The purpose of this paper is to solve various differential equations having Eisenstein series as coefficients using various tools and techniques. The solutions are given in terms of modular forms, modular functions and equivariant forms.

Critical points of Green's function and geometric function theory

We study questions related to critical points of the Green's function of a bounded multiply connected domain in the complex plane. The motion of critical points, their limiting positions as the pole approaches the boundary and the differential geometry of the level lines of the Green's function are main themes in the paper. A unifying role is played by various affine and projective connections and corresponding Möbius invariant differential operators. In the doubly connected case the three Eisenstein series $E_2$, $E_4$, $E_6$ are used. A specific result is that a doubly connected domain is the disjoint union of the set of critical points of the Green's function, the set of zeros of the Bergman kernel and the separating boundary limit positions for these. At the end we consider the projective properties of the prepotential associated to a second order differential operator depending canonically on the domain.
