A correlated refinement of the double double ramification cycle

Given a family of semi-stable curves together with two degree 0 line bundles, the double double ramification cycle measures the locus where both line bundles are trivial on the fibers. When the two line bundles come equipped with natural roots, we provide a refinement of the DDR-class using the Weil pairing of the roots. We prove that the refined classes satisfy a multiple cover formula analogous to the one for correlated invariants of projective bundles on elliptic curves proved in [BC25b]. As a consequence, we prove that log-GW invariants of toric surfaces can be refined taking into account the position of the points mapped to the toric boundary, and that these refined invariants also satisfy a multiple cover formula; the latter is as a variation of the N. Takahashi conjecture for genus zero maximal contact curves for P2 relative a smooth elliptic curve E.

Refined curve counting with descendants and quantum mirrors

Given a log Calabi--Yau surface $(Y,D)$, Bousseau has constructed a quantization of the mirror algebra of this pair. We give a formula for structure constants of this quantization in terms of higher genus descendant logarithmic Gromov--Witten invariants of $(Y,D)$. Our result generalises the weak Frobenius structure conjecture for surfaces to the $q$-refined setting, and is proved by relating these invariants to counts of quantum broken lines in the associated quantum scattering diagram.

Chow ring of the stack of plane nodal curves

We compute the rational Chow ring of the moduli stack of planar nodal curves of fixed degree and express it in terms of tautological classes. Along the way, we extend Vial's results on Chow groups of Brauer-Severi varieties to $G$-equivariant settings.

Tropical refined curve counting with descendants

We prove a $q$-refined tropical correspondence theorem for higher genus descendant logarithmic Gromov--Witten invariants with a $λ_g$ class in toric surfaces. Specifically, a generating series of such logarithmic Gromov--Witten invariants agrees with a $q$-refined count of rational tropical curves satisfying higher valency conditions. As a corollary, we obtain a geometric proof of the deformation invariance of this tropical count. In particular, our results give an algebro--geometric meaning to the tropical count defined by Blechman and Shustin. Our strategy is to use the logarithmic degeneration formula, and the key new technique is to reduce to computing integrals against double ramification cycles and connect these integrals to the non--commutative KdV hierarchy.

Logarithmic Gromov-Witten theory and double ramification cycles

We examine the logarithmic Gromov-Witten cycles of a toric variety relative to its full toric boundary. The cycles are expressed as products of double ramification cycles and natural tautological classes in the logarithmic Chow ring of the moduli space of curves. We introduce a simple new technique that relates the Gromov-Witten cycles of rigid and rubber geometries; the technique is based on a study of maps to the logarithmic algebraic torus. By combining this with recent work on logarithmic double ramification cycles, we deduce that all logarithmic Gromov-Witten pushforwards, for maps to a toric variety relative to its full toric boundary, lie in the tautological ring of the moduli space of curves. A feature of the approach is that it avoids the as yet undeveloped logarithmic virtual localization formula, instead relying directly on piecewise polynomial functions to capture the structure that would be provided by such a formula. The results give a common generalization of work of Faber-Pandharipande, and more recent work of Holmes-Schwarz and Molcho-Ranganathan. The proof passes through general structure results on the space of stable maps to the logarithmic algebraic torus, which may be of independent interest.

A new approach to the operator formalism for Gromov-Witten invariants of the cap and tube

Based on Johnson's operator formula for the equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of $\mathbb{P}^1$-orbifolds, we give a new approach to the operator formalism by Okounkov and Pandharipande regarding the $\mathbb{C}^*$-equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of $\mathbb{P}^1$ relative to one or two points. We also extend their operator formalism in the non-equivariant specialization to the case where we allow negative contact orders.
