Multipartite Monogamy of Entanglement for Three Qubit States

The distribution of entanglement in a multiparty system can be described through the principles of monogamy or polygamy. Monogamy is a fundamental characteristic of entanglement that restricts its distribution among several number of parties(more than two). In this work, our aim is to explore how quantum entanglement can be distributed in accordance with monogamy relations by utilizing both the genuine multipartite entanglement measures and bipartite entanglement measures. Specifically, we treat source entanglement as the genuine multipartite entanglement measure and use the entanglement of formation specifically for bipartite cases. For GHZ class states, we analytically demonstrate that the square of the source entanglement serves as an upper bound for the sum of the squares of the entanglement of formation of the reduced subsystems, with some exceptions for specific non-generic GHZ states. We also present numerical evidence supporting this result for W class states. Additionally, we explore the monogamy relation by using accessible entanglement as an upper bound.

Coherence Fraction

The concept of entanglement fraction is generalized to define coherence fraction of a quantum state. Precisely, it quantifies the proximity of a quantum state to maximally coherent state and it can be used as a measure of coherence. Coherence fraction has a connection with $l_1$-norm coherence and provides the criteria of coherence distillability. Optimal coherence fraction corresponding to a channel, defined from this new idea of coherence fraction, obeys a complementary relation with its decohering power. The connection between coherence fraction and $l_1$-norm coherence turns to hold for bipartite pure states and $X$ states too. The bipartite generalization shows that the local coherence fractions of a quantum state are not free and they are bounded by linear function of its global coherence fraction. Dynamics of optimal coherence fraction is also studied for single sided and both sided application of channels. Numerical results are provided in exploring properties of optimal coherence fraction.

Performance of quantum cloning and deleting machines over coherence

Coherence, being at the heart of interference phenomena, is found to be an useful resource in quantum information theory. Here we want to understand quantum coherence under the combination of two fundamentally dual processes, viz., cloning and deleting. We found the role of quantum cloning and deletion machines with the consumption and generation of quantum coherence. We establish cloning as a cohering process and deletion as a decohering process. Fidelity of the process will be shown to have connection with coherence generation and consumption of the processes.

Persistency of Genuine Correlations Under Particle Loss

In a recent work [\href{http://journals.aps.org/pra/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevA.86.042113}{Phys. Rev. A 86, 042113 (2012)}] the question of persistency of entanglement and nonlocality of multi-party systems under particle loss has been addressed. This question is of immense importance considering the practical realization of the information theoretic tasks which make use of the power of quantum correlations. But in multipartite scenario more interesting cases arise since subsystems can also possess genuineness in correlation which is prevalently inequivalent to the bipartite scenario. In this work, we investigate the persistency of such genuine correlations under particle loss. Keeping in mind the practical importance, considerable attention has been devoted to find the multipartite states which exhibit maximal persistency of genuine correlations.

On Strong Monogamy Conjecture in Four-Qubit System

Monogamy is a defining feature of entanglement, having far reaching applications. Recently, Regula \textit{et.al.} in Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{113}, 110501(2014) have proposed a stronger version of monogamy relation for concurrence. We have extended the strong monogamy inequality for another entanglement measure, viz., negativity. In particular, we have concentrated on four-qubit system and provided a detail study on the status of strong monogamy on pure states. Further, we have analytically provided some classes of states for which negativity and squared negativity satisfy strong monogamy. Numerical evidences have also been shown in proper places. Our analysis also provides cases where strong monogamy is violated.

Local Quantum Uncertainty in Two-Qubit Separable States: A Case Study

Recent findings suggest, separable states, which are otherwise of no use in entanglement dependent tasks, can also be used in information processing tasks that depend upon the discord type general non classical correlations. In this work, we explore the nature of uncertainty in separable states as measured by local quantum uncertainty. Particularly in two-qubit system, we find separable X-state which has maximum local quantum uncertainty. Interestingly, this separable state coincides with the separable state, having maximum geometric discord. We also search for the maximum amount of local quantum uncertainty in separable Bell diagonal states. We indicate an interesting connection to the tightness of entropic uncertainty with the state of maximum uncertainty.

Effect of local filtering on Freezing Phenomena of Quantum Correlation

General quantum correlations measures like quantum discord, one norm geometric quantum discord, exhibit freezing, sudden change, double sudden change behavior in their decay rates under different noisy channels. Therefore, one may attempt to investigate how the freezing behavior and other dynamical features are affected under application of local quantum operations. In this work, we demonstrate the effect of local filtering on the dynamical evolution of quantum correlations. We have found that using local filtering one may remove freezing depending upon the filtering parameter.

Local Quantum Uncertainty and Bounds on Quantumness for Orthogonally invariant class of states

Local quantum uncertainty (in short LQU) was introduced by Girolami et. al.(Phy. Rev. Lett. \textbf{110}, 240402) as a measure of quantum uncertainty in a quantum state as achievable on single local measurement. However, such quantity do satisfy all necessary criteria to serve as measure of discord like quantum correlation and it has no closed formula except only for $2\otimes n$ system. Here, we consider orthogonal invariant class of states which includes both the Werner and Isotropic class of states and explore the possibility of closed form formula. Further, we extend our quest to the possibility of closed form of geometric discord and measurement induced nonlocality for this class. We also provide a comparative study of the bounds of general quantum correlations with entanglement, as measured by negativity, for an interesting subclass of states.

Character of superposed states under deterministic LOCC

In this paper we investigate the effect of superposition of states on local conversion of pure bipartite states under deterministic LOCC. We are able to form a bridge between comparable and incomparable classes of states through the linear superposition of states. For example, if we consider two pairs of incomparable states, then their superposition may result into a comparable pair of states. We investigate many such cases and provide some of the results in tabular form. We also investigate the entanglement behavior of such classes of states, specifically their monotone nature. Finally we provide some bounds of different measures of entanglement based on the idea of comparability and incomparability under deterministic LOCC.

Decoherence Dynamics of Measurement-Induced Nonlocality and comparison with Geometric Discord for two qubit systems

We check the decoherence dynamics of Measurement-induced Nonlocality(in short, MIN) and compare it with geometric discord for two qubit systems. There are quantum states, on which the action of dephasing channel cannot destroy MIN in finite or infinite time. We check the additive dynamics of MIN on a qubit state under two independent noise. Geometric discord also follows such additive dynamics like quantum discord. We have further compared non-Markovian evolution of MIN and geometric discord under dephasing and amplitude damping noise for pure state and it shows distinct differences between their dynamics.

Monogamy of Measurement Induced Non-Locality

Measurement-Induced NonLocality was introduced by Luo and Fu (Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{106}, 120401,(2011)) as a measure of nonlocality in a bipartite state. In this paper we will discuss monogamy property of measurement-induced nonlocality for some three- and four-qubit classes of states. Unlike discord, we find quite surprising results in this situation. Both the GHZ and W states satisfy monogamy relations in the three-qubit case, however, in general there are violations of monogamy relations in both the GHZ-class and W-class states. In case of four-qubit system, monogamy holds for most of the states in the generic class. Four qubit GHZ does not satisfy monogamy relation, but W-state does. We provide several numerical results including counterexamples regarding monogamy nature of measurement induced nonlocality. We will also extend our results of generalized W-class to n-qubit.
