Construction of a $C^2$ class finite element based on the Clough-Tocher subdivision

In this paper, we construct a $C^2$ finite element based on the Clough-Tocher subdivision. We use derivatives order up to two at the vertices and cross boundary derivatives order up to two along the exterior edges of the triangle. The centroid of the triangle is just evaluated. The interpolant used is globally $C^2,$ has local support, is piecewise polynomial of degree less or equal to 5.

The Concept of Temperature in the Modern Physics

The physical quantity "temperature" is a cornerstone of thermodynamics and statistical physics. But it is necessary to mention that very frequently the scientists forget about the conditions to be satisfied in order to introduce "temperature" in macroscopic physics. In the present paper the short introduction to the classical concept of temperature for macroscopic equilibrium systems will be given. The concept of "spin temperature" in condensed matter physics will be reviewed and the advantages of thermodynamic approach to the problems of magnetism will be illustrated. Finally, the concept of temperature will be discussed regarding the nanoscale physics and non-extensive systems.

A counterexample against the Lesche stability of a generic entropy functional

We provide a counterexample to show that the generic form of entropy S(p)=sum_i g(p_i) is not always stable against small variation of probability distribution (Lesche stability) even if is concave function on [0,1] and analytic on ]0,1]. Our conclusion is that the stability of such a generic functional needs more hypotheses on the property of the function g, or in other words, the stability of entropy cannot be discussed at this formal stage.

A mathematical structure for the generalization of the conventional algebra

An abstract mathematical framework is presented in this paper as a unification of several deformed or generalized algebra proposed recently in the context of generalized statistical theories intended to treat certain complex thermodynamic or statistical systems. It is shown that, from mathematical point of view, any bijective function can be used in principle to formulate an algebra in which the conventional algebraic rules are generalized.

Contribution of Non Integer Integro-Differential Operators (NIDO) to the geometrical understanding of Riemann's conjecture-(II)

Advances in fractional analysis suggest a new way for the physics understanding of Riemann's conjecture. It asserts that, if s is a complex number, the non trivial zeros of zeta function in the gap [0,1], is characterized by . This conjecture can be understood as a consequence of 1/2-order fractional differential characteristics of automorph dynamics upon opened punctuated torus with an angle at infinity equal to . This physical interpretation suggests new opportunities for revisiting the cryptographic methodologies.

On different $q$-systems in nonextensive thermostatistics

It is known that the nonextensive statistics was originally formulated for the systems composed of subsystems having same $q$. In this paper, the existence of composite system with different $q$ subsystems is investigated by fitting the power law degree distribution of air networks with $q$-exponential distribution. Then a possible extension the nonextensive statistics to different $q$ systems is provided on the basis of an entropy nonadditivity rule and an unnormalized expectation of energy.

A composition of different $q$ nonextensive systems with the normalized expectation based on escort probability

This is a study of composition rule and temperature definition for nonextensive systems containing different $q$ subsystems. The physical meaning of the multiplier $β$ associated with the energy expectation in the optimization of Tsallis entropy is investigated for the formalism with normalized expectation given by escort probability. This study is carried out for two possible cases: the case of the approximation of additive energy; and the case of nonadditive energy prescribed by an entropy composition rule for different $q$ systems.

How to fit the degree distribution of the air network?

We investigate three different approaches for fitting the degree distributions of China-, US- and the composite China+US air network, in order to reveal the nature of such distributions and the potential theoretical background on which they are based. Our first approach is the fitting with q-statistics probability distribution, done separately in two regimes. This yields acceptable outcomes but generates two sets of fitting parameters. The second approach is an entire fitting to all data points with the formula proposed by Tsallis et al. So far, this trial is not able to produce consistent results. In the third approach, we fit the data with two composite distributions which may lack theoretical support for the moment.
