$b\to c \bar u q$ decay and CP violating observables in the presence of new physics contributions

In this work, a comprehensive analysis for processes related to $b\to c\bar{u}q~(q=d, s)$ transitions are carried out, including new physics contributions. In light of a recent tension between branching fractions for $B_{(s)}\to D_{(s)}^{(*)}M$ ($M$ represents a meson) decays in the QCD factorization approach and relevant experimental results, phenomenological constraints on complex-valued Wilson coeffients are discussed. Analyzed observables contain direct CP asymmetry ($A_{\text{CP}}$) in $B^-\to D^0π^-$ decays and $γ/ϕ_3$, one of the angles in the unitarity triangle, combined with others from $τ_{B^+}/τ_{B_d}$, $ΔΓ_{q}/Γ_q$, and $A_{\rm SL}^{q}~(q=d, s)$. We constrain the complex Wilson coefficients at $1σ$ and $2σ$ levels under color-singlet and color-rearranged scenarios. These constraints yield correlated predictions for $ΔΓ_d/Γ_d$, $A_{\rm SL}^d$ and $A_{\text{CP}}$.

$B_{(s)}\to D_{(s)}^{(*)}M$ decays in the presence of final-state interaction

In light of the recent data for $\bar{B}_{(s)}\to D^{(*)}_{(s)}P$ and $\bar{B}_{(s)}\to D_{(s)}V$ decays, we perform a model-independent phenomenological analysis in the presence of quasi-elastic rescattering. With the Wilson coefficients including contributions beyond the standard model, lifetimes of $B$ meson as well as the $B^0_d-\bar{B}^0_d$ mixing are investigated for clarifying correlations among the observables. We show that parameter regions for quasi-elastic rescattering, the size of color-suppressed tree amplitudes and new physics are constrained due to the lifetime data. As a consequence, it is revealed that this scenario can be testable by the future LHCb measurement of width difference in $B^0_d-\bar{B}^0_d$ mixing and semi-leptonic CP asymmetry.

Heavy top quark mass in the minimal universal seesaw model

We study the hierarchy between $M_T, v_L$, and $v_R$, the relevant energy scales of the Minimal Universal Seesaw Model (MUSM), where the two lightest quark families remain massless at tree level. We also predict the heavy top quark mass, $m_{t'}$. We do some numerical analysis using recent experimental data. Our numerical analysis demonstrates that $M_T$ is sensitive to the values of the Yukawa couplings. The heavy top quark mass $(m_{t'})$ is predicted to be within the range from 1.4 TeV to 7.2 TeV.

The third family quark mass hierarchy and FCNC in the universal seesaw model

We present the study of the quark sector of the universal seesaw model with $\mathrm{SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R \times U(1)_{Y'}}$ gauge symmetry in the massless case of the two lightest quark families. This model aims to explain the mass hierarchy of the third family quark by introducing a vector-like quark (VLQ) partner for each quark. In this model, we introduce $\mathrm{SU(2)_L}$ and $\mathrm{SU(2)_R}$ Higgs doublets. We derive explicitly the Lagrangian for the quark sector, Higgs sector, and kinetic terms of the gauge fields, starting from the Lagrangian, which is invariant under $\mathrm{SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R \times U(1)_{Y'}}$ gauge symmetry. At each stage of the symmetry breaking, we present the Lagrangian with the remaining gauge symmetry. Additionally, we investigate the flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNC) of Higgs ($h$) and $Z$-boson in the interaction with the top, heavy top, bottom, and heavy bottom quark.

Improving the science process skills of physics education students by using guided inquiry practicum

This research investigate that science process skills significantly improve after doing some practicum activities. The research population are fifth semester physics education students and the research sample are fifth semester physics education students who was doing electricity and magnetism experiment C class course. We used two questionnaires, the first one is given to the students after doing three experiment activities and the second one is given after doing six experiment activities. This research is quantitative research using paired sample t test analysis that compared the first questionnaires score and the second questionnaires by using SPSS software. The result indicates that the number of practicum activities is able to improve the science process skills significantly.

Study of weak-basis invariants in the universal seesaw model using Hilbert series

Universal Seesaw Model is a model which explains the mass hierarchy of the quark sector. This model introduces vector-like quarks. The top quark mass is generated in the electroweak scale and the other quark mass is generated using a seesaw-like mechanism. The invariant theory helps construct a weak-basis invariant. We study the weak-basis invariant (WBI) using Hilbert Series (HS) and apply it to the Universal Seesaw Model, particularly the one-generation case of the quark sector.

Effective theory for universal seesaw model and FCNC

We study the quark sector of the universal seesaw model with SU(2)$_L$ $\times$ SU(2)$_R$ $\times$ $U(1)$.The model incorporates the seesaw mechanism with the vector-like quarks (VLQs). The purpose of this work is to study the model with the effective theory. After integrating the heavy five VLQs, we derive the effective theory with four up-type quark and three down type quark. In this work, the FCNC of Z boson for top quark and top$^\prime$ quark is derived.

Discovering the formal definition of limit through exploration in dynamic geometry environments

The formal definition of limit is one mathematical idea that gives difficulties to most students. Therefore, it is necessary to provide engaging activity in order to construct the students' understanding about the definition. This study aims to shed light on designing activities with dynamic geometry software to facilitate the students in discovering the formal definition of limit. Forty-eight students participated in the study. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected from the students' responses in and attitudes toward the activities. The students' responses were gathered directly by using the dynamic geometry software whereas an online questionnaire was used to collect the students' attitudes. The results of the study then presented in this paper. Further, a set of suggestions in designing and implementing dynamic geometry environments to foster students' understanding about formal definition of limit was also proposed.

Lagrangian for RLC circuits using analogy with the classical mechanics concepts

We study and formulate the Lagrangian for the LC, RC, RL, and RLC circuits by using the analogy concept with the mechanical problem in classical mechanics formulations. We found that the Lagrangian for the LC and RLC circuits are governed by two terms i. e. kinetic energy-like and potential energy-like terms. The Lagrangian for the RC circuit is only a contribution from the potential energy-like term and the Lagrangian for the RL circuit is only from the kinetic energy-like term.
