Clustering Bounds on N-Point Correlations for Unbounded Spin Systems

We prove clustering estimates for the truncated correlations, i.e., cumulants of an unbounded spin system on the lattice. We provide a unified treatment, based on cluster expansion techniques, of four different regimes: large mass, small interaction between sites, large self-interaction, as well as the more delicate small self-interaction or `low temperature' regime. A clustering estimate in the latter regime is needed for the Bosonic case of the recent result obtained by Lukkarinen and Spohn on the rigorous control on kinetic scales of quantum fluids.

Abstract polymer models with general pair interactions

A convergence criterion of cluster expansion is presented in the case of an abstract polymer system with general pair interactions (i.e. not necessarily hard core or repulsive). As a concrete example, the low temperature disordered phase of the BEG model with infinite range interactions, decaying polynomially as $1/r^{d+λ}$ with $λ>0$, is studied.

Convergent expansions for Random Cluster Model with q>0 on infinite graphs

In this paper we extend our previous results on the connectivity functions and pressure of the Random Cluster Model in the highly subcritical phase and in the highly supercritical phase, originally proved only on the cubic lattice $\Z^d$, to a much wider class of infinite graphs. In particular, concerning the subcritical regime, we show that the connectivity functions are analytic and decay exponentially in any bounded degree graph. In the supercritical phase, we are able to prove the analyticity of finite connectivity functions in a smaller class of graphs, namely, bounded degree graphs with the so called minimal cut-set property and satisfying a (very mild) isoperimetric inequality. On the other hand we show that the large distances decay of finite connectivity in the supercritical regime can be polynomially slow depending on the topological structure of the graph. Analogous analyticity results are obtained for the pressure of the Random Cluster Model on an infinite graph, but with the further assumptions of amenability and quasi-transitivity of the graph.

The analyticity region of the hard sphere gas. Improved bounds

We find an improved estimate of the radius of analyticity of the pressure of the hard-sphere gas in $d$ dimensions. The estimates are determined by the volume of multidimensional regions that can be numerically computed. For $d=2$, for instance, our estimate is about 40% larger than the classical one.

Regions without complex zeros for chromatic polynomials on graphs with bounded degree

We prove that the chromatic polynomial $P_\mathbb{G}(q)$ of a finite graph $\mathbb{G}$ of maximal degree $\D$ is free of zeros for $\card q\ge C^*(\D)$ with $$ C^*(\D) = \min_{0<x<2^{1\over \D}-1} {(1+x)^{\D-1}\over x [2-(1+x)^\D]} $$ This improves results by Sokal (2001) and Borgs (2005). Furthermore, we present a strengthening of this condition for graphs with no triangle-free vertices.

Cluster expansion for abstract polymer models. New bounds from an old approach

We revisit the classical approach to cluster expansions, based on tree graphs, and establish a new convergence condition that improves those by Kotecky-Preiss and Dobrushin, as we show in some examples. The two ingredients of our approach are: (i) a careful consideration of the Penrose identity for truncated functions, and (ii) the use of iterated transformations to bound tree-graph expansions.

Potts model on infinite graphs and the limit of chromatic polynomials

Given an infinite graph $\GI$ quasi-transitive and amenable with maximum degree $\D$, we show that reduced ground state degeneracy per site $W_r(\GI,q)$ of the q-state antiferromagnetic Potts model at zero temperature on $\GI$ is analytic in the variable 1/q, whenever $|2\D e^3/q|< 1$. This result proves, in an even stronger formulation, a conjecture originally sketched in [KE] (Kim and Enting, 1979) and explicitly formulated in [ST] (Shrock and Tsai,1997), based on which a sufficient condition for $W_r(\GI,q)$ to be analytic at 1/q=0 is that $\GI$ is a regular lattice.
