Note on the Equivalence of Costas Polynomials and Orthomorphisms

We establish an equivalence between the existence of Costas polynomials and the existence of a special kind of orthomorphism such that their compositions are also orthomorphisms. Computations are easier over these orthomorphisms. We provide a lower bound for the number of Costas polynomials and derive some of their properties. We show that Costas polynomials, by virtue of being multiplicative analogs of planar polynomials, can also be used to construct complete families of mutually orthogonal Latin squares.

An extension of Stein's method incorporating dependence

We extend Stein's method to include dependence with respect to an auxiliary random variable, for conditional laws for which Stein's characterizations do exist.

An extension of Stein's method incorporating independence

We extend Stein's method to include independence with respect to an auxiliary random variable, for any law for which a Stein characterization does exist. This extends the current literature on the problem. Using tools from the Malliavin calculus, an application to the law of the invariant measure of an ergodic diffusion is given to illustrate the theory.
